sad to see such downfall.

TW2 was better game than any new piranha stuff and had magic system which was really interesting.

I would love to see TW3 with even more fleshed out magic system.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I might have given it a shot if not for the ship combat. I might buy it for €5 or hope for its inclusion in a bundle in a few years.

That's one of the most boring and generic UI I've ever seen in a game. It's just fucking lazy to have created something as plain and as dull as that, who exactly is it supposed to appeal to?

It's bad enough that the UI piece of shit, but they also have to bring that lack of design to the player screen too?

What tool though it was a good idea to stick the xp bar front and centre at the bottom of the screens?

Have these fucking idiots not learned what 'design' means. Why spend a couple of years of your life making entertainment if you don't even understand what makes adequate design and usability?

I'd like graphics programmers who have no idea how to implement SSAO to stop wasting time trying to do so. The MC is "glowing dark" from the waist down.

I wonder is it so hard to look back at previous 20 years of gaming for a proper UI when you try to make AAA game and have the budget for it....... i guess if it is too hard for them they should fail.

New Release Date : 30 Jan (this time it's final guys, we promise)

Also, a dev created an AMA thread on the steam forums

http://steamcommunity.com/app/281130/discussions/0/620703493333145653/

He says this is the "most expensive and most complicated development they ever did" and after that, probably TW3 would be a much safer title to pitch than Sacrilegium or something else

There are also some interesting answers :P

- I saw few already gameplays and animations in this game looks very outdated. It will be better in final product ?
- Everyone has his own opinion. If you say it looks bad - o.k. that we failed to make it better. But we are open to review your application as a 3D artist/Aniamtion specialist.

- waiting for reply for my questions:
- I can type 250 keys per minute .. are you faster? - you seem to be a real crack - great! maybe we should hire you.

- Can you pass time by sleeping in inns?
- no. the game is not time factor based. But you can f**k in the brothel if you have to much free time.

They won't be on the market for too long now.

It's not really smart to be rude to the people you want to purchase a pre-order of your game. I can understand the developers frustration, but don't do an AMA then.

Developer said:
- it is very hard to market Raven's Cry and it was the most expensive and most complicated development we ever did.

- vizualizing of the story. it is a drama. great acting was required.
- without doing an interactive movie, creating a game with a great story.

Good.

RC is more story driven. TW1 is more a sandbox game. And TW1+2 started somehow interesting but have not been thought to the end.

We need a few (this time really only 4) days more to implement some features wanted by the community.

Doesn't really sound like proper project management - 4 days to implement "a few" features "wanted by the community" sounds unrealistic – especially if you announce that on the alleged release day. It makes the developers appear unprofessional.

Judging by his replies to people in AMA he started, I think we can safely say this development was so botched because of a lack of professionalism.

I'm still laughing that someone can be so rude when they should be garnering as much goodwill as possible.

You mean the PC isn't some sort of pirate-wraith? :troll:

Yeah, it's the first thing I noticed along with the ridiculous depth of field. If only the technical aspects were the only things to merit criticism...

Watched some gameplay videos and the first impression is that the "game" seems to be shit essentially shovelware.

Edit: Island exploration might be fun.

I wonder if the delay doesn't have more to do with Dying Light shifting its release date a few days earlier. Shovelware don't wanna compete with shovelware. This way Dying Light will be a distant memory by the time the console plebians see Raven's Cry coming out.

That guy is so salty that snails melt in his presence. "You can't call my soup shit unless you are a professional chef!". I think they are painfully aware that there's no hope for this game and aren't even bothering to try.

I guess that guy drew the shortest stick and had to do this, he doesn't seem happy about it

And by the way, please stop calling it a fucking 'AMA'

I hope it will be at least as good as Sea Dogs many years ago .

From what I've seen of it, it could potentially end up like that. Unless they fuck it up. Which is likely.

In the thread on steam, they said that SeaDogs wasn't an inspiration for the game. Which is of course a pity, if he had lied and said yes, I'd have gotten the game at 75% off. If only the best pirate games wouldn't be mods for a decade old Russian shovelware peddled by Bethesda.

2. I remember game called SeaDogs (very good pirate game) is it was an inspiration for you during creation of Raven's Cry?
- not really.

I like their down-to-earth communication, better than employing "community managers". I don't even mind them being blunt when answering the questions, but I certainly think that a project of that scope needs some professionalism in project management. You can't tell the customers on release day that you need 4 more days "to implement features the community wanted" and expect them to believe that. That's about as truthful as EA communication about "gamers not understanding the revolutionary ideas" in Dungeon Keeper mobile.
