In b4 mediafire is shut down too and PTD fades out from existence forever.

Nah, mediafire has taken to very aggressively deleting copyright content since megaupload.

That hardly makes preservation of PtD any easier...

Yeah. 1.8 won't work for me at all, crashing and GFX problems, whereas 1.7 is at least playable.

If only the dude that made it released the source code so that fans could try to fix it...

It almost seems to me like the developers want to forget PtD.
    What are they currently doing?

Cool! I tried to play this game a couple of years ago. It was super cool, but TOO crashy. I checked my archives, and I was playing 1.8. Maybe I can squeeze a full game out of this version, this was some promising shit.

Was enjoying this game quite a lot until I got a crash and lost tons of progress.

Yeah, yeah but the game seemed pretty stable until that point so I thought things would be fine. Lesson learned though.

Loved playing this, although it took me awhile to get used to the combat, camera and interface. Have these guys made any other games?

I've played this for a couple of hours before I realised I was playing 1.5.

I want to restart anyway, should I go for 1.7 or 1.8?

I'd go for 1.8 and went with 1.7 only if 1.8 is not stable (enough).

Just out of curiosity, version 1.8 was downloaded 2129 times by now from the above link. Looks like the game is still quite popular.
