What is the point of pre-order? I have never pre-ordered a game in my life so I wouldn't know but the concept of paying for a game that you will get 6 months from now seems silly. Why would someone pre-order a game?

Pre-ordering made sense before the arrival of online retailers, as it allowed you to secure yourself a physical copy at the local retailer. This was usually only needed when a hot title was inbound.

Sadly this was more than 15 years ago and has been replaced with what amounts to a scam. You're paying money for a product you're not allowed to try out first, with no guarantee of being as advertised, and rarely with a set date, and 9 times out of 10 you'll be paying for an incomplete product anyway.

I pre-order stuff all the time and I don't give a fuck if someone calls me a gullible idiot. I've done it for 20 years and it has backfired on me 4 or 5 times. 2 of the times, I sold the game at face value. I only pre-order stuff that I have researched and I'm not talking about media sucking publisher or developer dick praising the game in reviews.

What kind of game is it? Does footage look fun? Who's developing? And other questions like that. What's funny is that I buy a lot of games a lot cheaper than full price while pre-ordering. All you have to do is wait for the right place and time for a promo price.

I guess it makes sense if the pre-order is at a discount and you were totally going to buy the game anyway. If you wait 1-2 years you get a better discount anyway but I can understand people if they pre-order a title they know they're gonna like at a discount.

Of course that most of the time it's a bunch of retards doing it for no reason whatsoever and getting scammed out of their money.
