Hey guys,i didn't find any threads about this wonderful game and decided to make one.It is one of my favourite strategy games and is not very well know.It is something like a squad based game with interesting combinations and tree different races to play.Also i set during the first triumvirate in Rome.Here is a gog link

Yep, played it years ago. Was a fun little strategy that managed to competently mix classic RTS and small-unit tactical games.

For its time the unit size and the number of units was very impressive.You could have a few thousands units on the map.

I bought this game the first time years ago - a cheap copy from ToysRus in the bargain bin section (like a couple of other interesting games like Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor or Cultures).
The campaign of Praetorians is really nice, has a lot of variety and playing with the different cultures is awesome. Skirmish against AI was also fun! I don't think I spend any or much time in multiplayer.

Instead of a big focus on resource management the game focuses completely on fights and building stuff is reduced to towers and new bases.

There is now one of these remasters which I still bought.
