Just so that everyone knows when to switch between shit posting and white knighting.

Doesn't need to be intrusive. Show nothing if the user set their gender to "not telling" in their profile.

But people could just lie. Are you trying to make liers out of us? In order for this icon to be accurate everybody must send a verified picture of themselves to a member of staff. If the staff can't easily determine the gender then they get a suitably amusing tag. This has the added benefit of allowing the staff to switch the avatar of irritating users to their actual picture, thus providing incentive to act in a reasonable manner, or potentially generating a shitposting frenzy for attention whores like the OP.

Drog, please change your archaic views. It is 2017. Gender is an outdated sexist idea invented by males to oppress. There is no gender. There is sex (female, male, etc.) but it's rediculous to think that one can "identify" as a single sex. We are all the same, the only differences between men and women are physical. It's sexist to assume that you can identify as one or the other, because that's implying that each one has to act a certain way. Don't get me wrong, a man can want to be a woman and vice versa, but that's a male WANTING TO BE a female. He is still a male until he becomes a female through surgery. A man can love to dress in women's clothing and play with dolls and go to the women's bathroom, but he is still a male. It doesn't matter what he likes, because there's no such thing as "girl things" and "guy things". Again, it's a sexist idea. Dollhouses can be used by both sexes, same thing goes with football. So it's rediculous to think you can "identify" with a single one. We are all the same. We are all humans with different anatomy. We are a single type of organism, not two different ones.

Absurd and impossible. What you describe is biological mutilation (for either gender). Medical science cannot change one's life history, nor one's intellect; both of which are integral to one's identity (as a person of either male or female gender). All you can get through surgery is either a man in a woman suit, or vice-versa... where the suit is made of their own reconstructed skin.

**And then you have the issue of fights... where men dressed as women; who think they are women—and fight with women, but they punch like a men.

Perhaps the closest to what you'd describe... is a full on [science fiction] brain transplant into a female cadaver... but even that is still a man in a woman suit... where it's them inside someone else's reconstructed skin. Even the hypothetical of it is still a male brain in a female skull; you'd have to (with more science fiction) copy the intellect from the male brain to the female one.... But even then... That's probably like running an X86 on PPC; or vice versa.
