One of the better, if not one of the best youtubers The 8-Bit Guy made RTS game for C64, called Planet X2. Pretty damn impressive for the C64 hardware, the graphics reminds me of Ultima-games and gameplay seems to be reminiscent of Laser Squad or Lords of Chaos, just in real-time.

Here's review of the game

and here's 35 minute documentary about making of the game

Don't play Arnhem, Doomdark's Revenge, Rebel Star 2 if you're making threads like this one, so you brain won't explode.

Because you've been living under a rock. Apparently this was done in 1995 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IcF7j9KskA
In 2017 if some heretic makes something for zx80 it better be on the scale of 8-bit Crysis, controlled by a mouse, with pre-rendered graphics, loaded from a SATA hdd that was modded to run TR-DOS. Obviously with diy mouse and hdd hacks.
