That sounds fantastic, some of that stuff I always wished for it to have been in the HBS Shadowruns.

Does luck mechanic stay? //I hope it does
Kinda. Still no randomization (proud to say, even less this time), but I felt luck doesn't fit the theme.
It works like this:
  • every weapon has a minimum and maximum damage (eg. 20-60, but varies from weapon to weapon)
  • every character has an Awareness level (100 on average, subject to character development) - it represents how focused & cautious a character is (think: the Bourne kind of awareness)
  • if shot at, character notices that and "dodges", reducing damage to minimum (plus first cover reduction, so effectively usually couple of points of damage)
  • every "dodge" reduces awareness level (25 on average, but it's subject to character development, skill selection etc)
  • once you're out of awareness, you get max damage
  • awareness regenerates every turn (10 on average, subject to character development)
  • you can Focus: use up your APs every N turns to regen a lot of awareness
Also: powerful actions require awareness. Like: headshots. So if you get shot at a lot, you can't land that headshot.

This better have melee combat.
Yes it does.
No "jab for 5hp" kind of melee tho.
Hand to hand takedowns. (for infiltration mostly)

Game sounds (and so far looks) nice.
The trailer, though, ... errhhh.... Don't get me wrong, I loved the cheesiness in the Command & Conquer, Dune and Mechwarrior games.
But this doesn't have that cheesiness. And I am afraid they weren't going for that, either.

Then again, I'm really not a fan of indie movie stuff, where every asset just manages to look cheap, so my standards when it comes to movie production are pretty high.
Still not sure if such live action stuff is a good idea for a game.

Hard West was pretty good, this looks similar but improved.
