As you may remember Path of Exile staged an Open Beta weekend. RPGWatch apparently took part and penned a preview, spiced up with some Q&A with Grinding Gear's producer Chris Wilson. Here's the intro:
Path of Exil - best thing since sliced bread?

Maybe he means that there are rarely sites paying attention to his game?

Now that's a fanboy drivel if I ever saw one. Stopped reading halfway through out of disgust.

Yep. Storage space in a loot-focused game does not impact gameplay. Like, at all.

That he even has to say this... so this is how RPGWatch writes their previews?

Do you want to imply that VoxClamant, the man behind things like The ArcaniA demo is amazing and The RPGWatch ArcaniA Review (in which he kinda backpedaled from his earlier preview, to a certain extent), does not write genuine (p)reviews but merely excreeds fanboy drivel? I'm just asking because they really believe they're writing real (p)reviews over there.

I think this lends some evidence to the argument that it's selection bias that generates all these slobbering game journalists rather than some nefarious corporate semi-bribery.

Pen down your impressions then, we need a more trustworthy source than this preview.

He means he donates to both RPGWatch and Path of Exile. Not sure why this would be a huge issue, Morkar?

Oh, thanks. I didn't bother to read it and thought it was a quote from the developer and just wanted to write some bullshit. Now since I know it's the reviewer himself it isn't as funny anymore. *sigh*

Taluntain shanghaied me into doing a review of another game so don't have time. However, if this is your way of saying "PoE is more important - will do your review for you", consider yourself shanghaied ;)

But it's a review from a member from RPGwatch though, right? It's that he is doing a "don't forget you can donate to this site guys!" in a review that is posted and will get read mostly on that same site. Felt like an ad within an ad.

It's a bit clunkier but it's a lot better than diablo 3. (although this is not much of an achievement)

Indeed. Blizzard has definitely been out-Diablo'ed by recent entries such as PoE and TL2. Hilarious considering Blizz has about a bajillion times the resources these other two indie companies have.

Well, comparing to other MMOs which tend to give bad ass swords that kill endgame bosses in one hit it's a definate move in the right direction. anyway they don't limit the amout of your characters so you can make an endless number of mules.

They do limit them. To 24 or something like that. So yeah, loot storage is purely a quality-of-life improvement, if you really want to jew you can simply mule.

Yes, Blizzards failure is really astonishing. I mean, I played through the games once, and it was fun. But that's it. I had absolutely no motivation to go further or try another character. It's all just so... meaningless :/

Thought the hit boxes were a little small, but the character advancement and style are top notch. Would recommend. 2 to 3 times better than Diablo 3 easily.
