Holy crap, I bought the budget re-re-release of Blade Runner for $3 here in Iceland years ago, and you're telling me I could sell it on eBay for multiple that amount?
The cheapest full boxed version is 10$. Generally, boxed games are a very bad financial investment. Things like Wasteland 1, Fallout and Autoduel costing more than on release are an exception. Generally, you'll be lucky to sell the old games for a price of a new boxed copy - taking in account inflation, you'll actually lose money on it.
I bought sealed copies of games for prices around 25-40$.

So, unless you're getting rid of your collection or buying up games from old magazines and on garage sales, doing it as a business is pretty pointless.

Found a HUGE box of Death Gate on the flea market today. Costed me like 5 dollars, with CD, manual and everything.

And I don't even like Death Gate. I think I'll eBay it. :3

Besides, why would you even consider selling it? The rights situation for this game is probably as screwed up as you can get. We're dealing with defunct companies like Westwood here, plus whatever vultures that managed to pick Westwood's corpse clean. Then there's EA, Warner Bros, possibly Virgin and worst of all the bloody Blade Runner Partnership - you know, the guys who delayed the proper CE release of the film for nearly a decade - and God knows who else. A digital rerelease seems somewhat unlikely, to say the least.
Wouldn't that increase the value of the item, and therefore, the amount you could get for selling it?

As far as video game adaptations of movies go, Blade Runner is hands down (one of) the best. You don't give that away hoping for a quick buck.
I'm not following your logic here. Why would you not sell a box merely because the game is good? It's just a box. If someone wants to pay shedloads for a box...

FINALLY got myself a cheap ($20) Fallout box. The guy was so careful with it he only broke the plastic wrap seal near the top so he could get at the game and manuals.

I've been scouring eBay and classifieds for years looking for something affordable. And this one came with the Fallout 1 disc and manual for some strange reason.

Pictured alongside my newly received WL2 box :). A fine addition to the shelf indeed!

A little banged up, but nice find. :)

On a related note, I'm looking for a new image host, as the photos for my collection have given up the ghost.

The size of the box is a bit of a disappointment, just like tits I like 'em big. The printing quality of the BaSS comic also seems a bit wonky. I don't have here my BaSS box to check the quality of the original comic, but I'm pretty sure it was better.
Otherwise stuff looks good, though.
But if they can afford to sell this for 30GBP then my completely uninformed assessment is that the manufacturing cost was below 10GBP, probably more like 5. Just imagine how much you're usually ripped off with the $100 or more collector's editions. Or how much DarkUnderlord rips off codexers with crappy USD drives.

I was interested in that compilation, until I saw most online sellers listing it for 40GBP. Too rich for me.

As for my collection, it has shrunk considerably in the three years that have passed since I posted my photos...and it's scheduled to shrink even further.

Don't forget about that offer I made you in some other thread. Instead of selling them for next to nothing I might be able to give you better deals. I'm mainly interested in PC and Spectrum games as long as they're complete and in good/very good condition.

I ain't got anything Spectrum, but according to mindx2 my games seem to be in very good condition.

I'll get back to you on that offer for PC games, though.
