Our awsome attached dramada fleets tend to lock mark contribution, ruining my fun. :argh:

That reminds me: when I thought about getting fleet phasers for my Fedling, I noticed the leet version has a shield heal proc instead of an extra mod. Is that thing worth anything or should I stick to advanced instead?

Elite Phasers = garbage. Advanced Phasers = Also Garbage. Get Crafted Pen Phasers or Mirror Torture Phasers.

How is this game's story? Only Trek I've touched recently are NuTrek 1 & 2 and 10mins of First Contact.

Banal, shit, boring. It's generic, horrid pap that you generally strive to avoid as much as possible, and mostly a general impediment to gameplay.

Mirror torture phasers?
I assume he means the agony phasers from the terran lolbox. Instead of disabling one subsystem they have a chance to disable the whole ship. Plus a phaser dot like plasma i think. Getting those would be a little expensive I fear, and getting the mods you want... ahaha no.

Elite Phasers = garbage. Advanced Phasers = Also Garbage. Get Crafted Pen Phasers or Mirror Torture Phasers.
Noted. How about the Disruptor version? 25% moah dmg to shield proc doesn't sound to shabby.

Short version? You start as a cadet/dirt farmer/3rd officer, work your way up through ranks, save the galaxy countless times and end up becoming... a dilithium farmer IN SPACE. :salute:

Story overall is... decent. Fed story has a few gems to offer, followed by "WTF is this shit". They like to bring a few references or stories from the shows back, which might be good or bad depending on your tastes. They did replace/rework some of the worst crap already tho. I would rank it slightly higher than the show "Voyager" overall, even tho that doesn't sound like much.
Romulard story is pretty good, a few fillers in between, but a nice overall story. Me gusta.
Can't comment on KDF tho, I never liked the race post TOS.

The cross faction missions everyone has to do after lvl30 or so are.... mixed bag. Some good, some bad, some terrible (Klingon ninjas...). Thankfully you can skip bad ones on your alts, since there are better ways to get xp.

TLDR: It's like a TV show. Some good episodes, some bad ones, some filler. Overall you look back at the whole season and think "It's good for what it is".

Also ninja'd by Norfleet. I wanted to add: "Inb4 Norfleet says: Missions are bad. Avoid them at all costs. Get xp more efficient and aquire more minerals." :argh:

Which genius queued Engi Operational Assets on Fed, anyway? Don't do that. Those things have no legitimate use, and are not a good dump project because they chew up over 4 days worth of the rarest kind of doff. Run the Sci Theoretical and OpAssets ones instead if you really need a dump: Sci doffmeat is waste material.

Don't look at me. The only thing I ever considered slotting was the FM/FC conversion project and I got immedeatly punished with fun-removal by you for even having that wasteful thought. :(

DilEx is gonna touch 500 soon and stay there, Neverwinter style. Should have bought some Zen when it was still cheap-ish. :(

Welp, leaves more potatos to spend on rep items and stuff. Not that I had aquired any of those hideous ships anyway. The Sci boat looks like a massage tool FFS.

It just occured to me that the new infinity lolbox could actually be a good thing for players. Since you can now choose what console you want, many will pick the plas leech, hopefully flooding the market and leading to affordable prices even for Fedlings. Might get one after all, or maybe kemocite or some ship trait.

What? Just trying to be optimistic here...

It is, its a win-win for most since you can find a D'Kora for normal prize instead of having to have to open that box and get shite prizes ... this is part of why everything come down on price, the other is hoarders that sat on things (like I did with a JHSS for months waiting for then to vanish from the exchange and then post it) are now dumping inventory as its a fire sale as every 4 months there is a reset, no point on sitting anymore outside the R&D Grand Prizes and even those are at risk in case Cryptic doesnt extends this to R&D, I would not be surprised if some dont start to quietly offload then as they still have high value.

The only loss is this drives the exchange further up meaning everything is driven further up but at nearly 500:1 it really cannot get worst unless Cryptic acts like a retard and raises the cap (a real possibility), then it will go to shit (like it did when they raised the exchange cap, raising the cap to 750 just meant R&D boxes ships just moved beyond the 750 mark instead of the 500 mark, it caused a +250m just because if you are going to sell it at max price over the limit then 750 is just 250 more ...) and it will never recover.

They never raised the cap in Neverwinter, and I think Borticus already said they won't do that for STO either. Actually I am convinced they have nobody who knows how to do it anyway.

But Neverwinter uses their Dil for everything, campaigns COST Dil instead of rewarding it, so there are more Dil sinks then STO has.
STO on the other hand has... nothing. Older players have bought every rep item they need, upgraded what they wanted or didn't bother at all. Nothing to spend Dil on except converting it to Zen. Raising the cap would just drive us freeloaders away, at 500 you already have to farm 8k/day one month per char, for the meager 500 Zen lifers get as a stipend.

For Cryptic it's not a bad situation, 500 Dil/Zen is high still "low" enough for people to farm for 500-1000 Zen purchases, but high enough to make them say "fuck it, I buy the Zen for dorrars" if they want a ship.

Oh STO have it, what you think Fleets were meant to do and actually did until they forgot about it?

Them come crafting and upgrading, also meant to be sinks ... if they didnt overall complicated the system in a pathetic attempt to get more monies with crafting DOFFs, upgrade kits and whatnot with the nails in the coffin being the RNG system on both ends that was also entirely self(Cryptic)-serving, it kinda worked for a month or two but being uncompleted on top of going too far with jewing that people end up ignoring it.

The problem is Cryptic tries to make the same sink to be a sink for too many things, it simply doesnt work ... people would be more willing to say buy the Trait Slots Expansions if not on top of costing a fuckton of Dil it also costs a even bigger fuckton of FC, its not even a question of being worthy the cost, its a question of players looking at it and tell them to go fuck themselves, you get away with that if costs are small, currency simple and you have to run it many times so people do it without thinking, if they ditched the upgrades kits I bet more people would just upgrade their gear because it would be simple, same with crafting if they werent so busy shoving their arm in the pie thinking we would not notice.

High Zen is bad because simply put, it drives people away from using it, its wallet or GTFO, it also creates a system were people will barter instead of using the exchange and will put high sought out items out of the price reach of the majority of players not savvy enough to be in a trading channel and know how the system works, eventually leading to a closed trade system.

Created an Agent of Yesterderp and the game immedeatly bugged out, spawning me on the bridge without a cutscene or interactable NPCs.

Yep, that's our Cryptic alright. Welcome home! :salute:

Ruining the fun is now a game feature, Norfleet is getting competition.

Is there actually anything in this game they haven't broken yet? Playing the whole level 1-60 again made me experience the abysmal condition this game currently is in.

  • Traits resetting again every time I log in.
  • Target Optics doesn't expose anymore. Fuck not even the 25% chance from grenades seem to work. And if one of my team manages to expose exploit dmg doesn't seem to properly work either. Tricorder scan seems to be affected as well.
  • Death animations broken. No desintegration, prone enemies stand up again and die.
  • Cutscene animations broken, NPCs in dialogs stand and you have to watch their crotch. Makes my BOFFs look like morons unable to look in a camera.
  • Audio for ambient dialogs missing, especially during the Dyson Sphere missions.
  • DOFFing rewards broken or buggy displaying, a crit asteroid mining gave me the standard 150 instead of the advertised 1000.
I could go on for a while.. and that's on top of the usual button lag, rubberbanding and occasional SNR. Half of that stuff are old even bugs they already fixed before.

This is NotFun, but not in a way Norfleet likes. :decline:

Also the Spacepenis is better than the Spacecoffin.

Do escorts have some hidden turn rate buff or is mine strangly buggy?

While leveling the AoY, I decided to use the T6 Akira and Prometeus I must have somehow bought during some sale. While the Akira turns as expected, the Promi occasionally gets BoP level of turnrate, jumping up to 40ish, turning on the spot. On paper she only has 1 more turn rate. And the only difference in mastery is more crits instead of pet bonus.
I am using the exact same setup, no consoles, BOFFs, DOFFs or abilities that should increase turnrate at all (didn't even have the solanae engine at that yet). I only specced Intelligence, which should only give flanking and shield boni amirite?

It's a mystery...
