What? You can't keep your christardism out of any discussion or what?

When you're burning in hell I hope you remember the faces of those poor developers and musicians that you stole from. :(

You will burn in Jahannam for not believing in Allah. (And those poor developers too) :shittydog:
CONDUCTOR WE HAVE A PROBLEM HERE, THIS FELLOW IS BEING MUSLIM EXCLUSIVE :flamesaw:

Everyone's burning in hell because there's more than one mutually exclusive belief that only they are real and anyone who doesn't follow their path burns in hell.

Fuck you guys, I'm taking all the demon bitches. :troll:

Meanwhile CDPR releases DRM free version of TW3 and it sells 2mln+ on PC and probably by now something like 4mln+ (last update was from start of fall way before christmas). When asked about piracy they say they are ok with this, that's how system works and quality of game decides if game will sell not amount of DRM behind your game.

http://www.pcgamer.com/the-witcher-...ntifying-pirates-demand-money-from-thousands/

CD Projekt RED have sent legal notices demanding money from thousands of alleged pirates in Germany, with a threat of court action for anyone refusing to pay.

That was for witcher 2 (which also came with DRM free version on GOG) not witcher 3

Also directly going for pirates instead of fucking up lives of customers who buy are way better imo. (if they had actually a proof not just ip adress). Either way since then they backtracked on all of this you mention and they openly even stated that they are ok with piracy now.[/QUOTE]

Good Back Pedal / Pedantic nit pick of a non-issue.

They never said they were ok with piracy iirc, it's just that they realized that fighting it can be too costly both in terms of material resources and corporate image. So it's more like they gave up.

No, you're missing the point here. The point is that DRM is at best of use for a limited amount of time, and at worst counter-productive.
The logical conclusion is: DRM is a useless waste of your money, and piracy is a thing you should just ignore because it doesn't affect you as much as you think it does.

I think you make logical sense from perhaps a viewpoint more narrow than it should be.

Yes, DRM can be a turnoff. The latest Windows is a great example of that. Offered for free, many still avoided it because of the increase in security (along with other intrusive issues).

What few pirate supporters will admit to however, is that pirating is going to be a pain in the ass for the average user, much in part thanks to piracy protection measures. Buying a product is easier than stealing it. Further, the notion that piracy doesn't equate to lost sales is illogical. If Pirate Steam existed, and you could either grab all of steams games for free with ease, few people would pay for games. As ease of piracy would lead to more lost sales, the inverse is logically true. Making piracy harder leads to increased sales.

The big problem there is that piracy is sometimes easier than legal purchase. Then again, that might be due to my narrow perspective of having some basic knowledge of computer use. While torrenting, installing and copying a crack might be easier and more convenient for me than buying a gam that requires me to make 3 seperate accounts and stay always online, it is probably the opposite for someone who doesn't even know how to torrent. But then, those people aren't a factor in piracy anyway and can safely be ignored.

Honestly, if it reaches the point where multi level intrusive DRM is a common thing you know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna pirate the shit out of it, and if it passes the piracy check I will find some means of giving the developers whatever the cost of their game is directly and keep using the pirated version. That way I have a superior version of the game, they have their money for their efforts, and no one can say anything had been stolen.

Piracy Helps Games Through Word Of Mouth:

1day.png

This is your data and proof?

xShB_5.gif

http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/nov/14/football-manager-2013-game-piracy

"British games developer Sports Interactive claims its Football Manager 2013 game was downloaded illegally 10.1m times after being "cracked" in May."

10millions!!!!! So lets read further

"Jacobson made pains to stress that SI doesn't see every illegal download as a lost sale, however: the company estimates that just 1.7% of these downloaders would have bought Football Manager 2013 if the cracked version hadn't been available."

1.7%!!!! How they got to that number? Here they explain:

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/11/14/football-manager-2013-pirated-10-million-times-says-devs/

"When I asked for clarification on that how that 1.74% was reached, a representative for Sports Interactive said that they looked “at the differences in sales between FM12 and FM13 during corresponding periods, taking into account pre-crack increase and post-crack decreases across every country.”

So let see how can your data be even in the ballpark of reality with Game Shit Tycoon of 90% lost to piracy.
Football Manager 2016 is still not cracked. Here is Steam Spy's data on the game:

http://steamspy.com/app/378120 and 2015's one http://steamspy.com/app/295270

500k so far vs 1.1mil.(it had free weekend ,but been a niche game and after the end of the season nobody gets last years FIFA, you can generously knock off maybe max 100k).It would be really helpful to see FM15's numbers first 6 months to compare with confidence, but logic dictates they will hit similar or even less sales with non cracked game as nobody buys last years sports game,so FM16 will have big push maybe in end of transfer window in February with discount to push some units ,will they double the current owners?

Now FM been really one of the biggest when it comes to niche genres I will argue piracy hurt them way less than AAA mainstream titles, but how much I can't say.Maybe if some big sequel stays protected we would be able to asses the difference now with Steam Spy showing all the PR bulshit for what it is- bulshit.

Agreed. For countries outside the US, I'll toss pricing into ease as well.

As far as torrents go, I tend to avoid anything executable. I'll grab music, movies and books online and frequently, but programs worry me. Too easy to get nasty things. I get that my fear is mostly an artifact of the early days of filesharing on Napster/Limewire/whatever, but it's there. Since I'm still a few years under the 35 year old average gamer, there's probably plenty of other folks like me out there.

That said, I fully support piracy. It needs to exist. I just don't buy the bullshit that pretends the majority of pirates are moral crusaders. They're not. They're lazy thieves crying themselves to sleep with shit excuses.

From moral crusaders to thieves. That is a myth and some commies thinking they are sticking it to the big corps.99% of pirates don't care and you will receive strange looks for even bringing the point of morality or legality. Not to mention you will sound gay.:troll:

2) They will buy the game once the cost matches their interest. If they truely did not want to play the game at all, they wouldn't download it.
I install less than 10% of the shit I download, movies/TV fare even worse. Real fucking competition instead of backroom deals is wonderful, I have gigabit at 10euro/month.
Which actually brings me to a point all the brainwashed moralists seem to forget. How about some fucking fair pricing and less market abuse. Did you even stop and think how come these industries are making more and more money despite piracy being rampant?

In a vaguely fair situation one would pay something like 30-50 euro per month to a service provider and that would cover whatever gaming/tv/music he pleases. People wouldn't pirate, executives wouldn't earn more than fucking small cities.

Then bust your damn ass and acquire the currency. If 60$ is a lot, then you cannot afford gaming, you'll be able to play at your leisure once you've become rich enough. Fucking manchildren, can't get their priorities straight.

I have torrents going right now at home so don't preach to me like I am some corporate cuck.
You're the only brainwashed moralist here - if you actually believe that your pirating is some grand crusade against corruption instead of.. ya know.. just getting free shit.

Piracy really harms indie developing... You lose your motivation for making games when you can't cover your expenses due to piracy

aka perfect scapegoat for dev own fallacies.

Meanwhile Factorio devs are creating 2d top down game about gears, factories and belts and they hired new people quit their day jobs, moved to nice and shiny offices in prague and they are yet to release anything on steam or gog. They only make money through their own site.

Meanwhile people create porn games and they are sponsored via patreon nearly 10k every 2 weeks...

But hey ! I have briliant idea ! Let's make platformer ! I played mario and few other platformers so surely it will be great !

i mean it is stealing really lol, and it doesnt matter the price if people can torrent it and get it for free they'll do it whether it's 60$ or 10$ and i dont see why tards bitch about games being too expensive when games are cheaper now then they were back in the 90s, fk i remember super mario rpg for the snes was like 80$ in stores where i live

n fyi i dont care if people pirate, i have friends irl who pirate and i dont take a moral highground with them or anything because idc but trying to justify pirating with OMGGGG ITS NOT FAIRRR HOW MUCH THE CORPORATIONS MAKE just makes you pathetic

if 60$ is alot you're a tramp and need to get a decent job lol
