Another day 1 backer here. I'm p.happy with both DMS and DF and they did really good job enhancing DF with Director's Cut.I'm also feeling a bit generous this time too :)

I see no indication of a failed product with another KS campaign. As others said, the profit likely went into Necropolis, as they now know that people will probably fund the development of a next SR campaign.
And I sure as hell will.

Also, they put an enormous amount of effort into SRR post release, without demanding any money for that. They are just worth supporting.

Hope they suceed more with this KS, and get a few million. They were always saying they got too little money to make a "proper" crpg so they made best. I wander with proper funding would it be a "real", deep, explorative crpg and not so much a mobile lite rpg. Setting's great, and they seem to improve and deepen their game with each sucessive iteration, so there is much hope. I gave them 30$, will probably give them something this campaign too, if they promise the right things. Would be great if Shadowrun Returns evolves into classic pc rpg games over time. I'm not really satisfied with lite rpg style, but I understand that they haven't got enough money. So I'm hoping that changes.

I hope they succeed too, but it's worth remembering that they aren't starting from scratch now, just improving, so they'll get more out of the money. That first kickstarter had to be used to get the basic systems and engine going and build skills in the team, build internal tools etc. That's all in place now so even if they got the same as the first ks one would hope that there would be significant improvements and better content.

I liked both previous campaigns. Deadman Switch had the better dialogs and tone. Dragonfall had too much goody two shoes (companion) dialogs. But otherwise Dragonfall had the better everything else. Haven't tried the Director's Cut.

In a new campaign I hope they introduce more preparation options for Runs. And actually the neccessity to prepare to a certain degree or the Run becomes too difficult. Eg. for a simple break and entry fetch quest. Choices between
"Get password. Fight your way through. Retrieve item. Get money."
"Get password. Invest money for easier access. Generate less heat. Retrieve item. Get money."
"Get password. Invest money for easier access. Generate less heat. Call in old favour. Learn significance of item. Retrieve item. Force more money out of buyer. May hurt street cred, put a bounty on you. Get money/standoff."
"Get password. Invest money for easier access. Generate less heat. Call in old favour. Learn significance of item. Retrieve item. Find alternative buyer. Play them against each other. May hurt street cred, put a bounty on you. Get money/standoff."
Of course, your skills and your team's should affect positive/negative results. Heat and street cred should affect your relationship with other runners, Mr. Smiths, Lonestar, etc.

More devices like having to build up money/street cred in order to access the next story stage. This would open up the game considerably.
More focus weapons/cyber/upgrades. These were quite barebones so far.
Overall steal features from here: http://www.nexusmods.com/shadowrunreturns/mods/134/?

EDIT: Also :d1p:
EDIT2: And no "Save the World" plot, pls.

I get that they should put more alternate path, but i wouldn't want them to be open world. Open world is the land of fillers.
I would like more RPG features, but as long as they remain Shadowrun Returns i am in.

Although, i am not sure they could top the DF villain. He is like the master of this series IMO. You can't do the same character twice.

But they could make the story structure work better.
In both games there is a far too much barrier (not the right word) between story-related mission and money-related missions.
You are into the story, and suddenly, you have to do randoms runs that have nothing to do with it.
Even if those random missions are good, it feel like you should be somewhere else.
I would prefer the other way around.
You initially do some random runs, and then, you start connecting the dots of a larger plot, and do more plot-related missions.

And I would like future iterations to go for a more open world game, and by that I don't mean bethesda style open world, but more of an Fallout/Arcanum style. I miss the exploration part in previous games most. But this just complements what I already said that I want a "full" crpg, not a lite tablet one...

Hopefully this Kickstarter does not clash with inXile inevitable next crowdfunding campaign, which is supposed to be revealed early next year.

Getting both DMS and DF for $15 was great value, but I still remember having to wait for a year to get save anywhere functionality (without which the game was unplayable for me). I should stop being broke in January, so will see about backing this when more details surface.

Their engine as it stands is a patchwork of tacked on systems to the original design, but i doubt they will change engine at this point, too much cost involved.

It won't. I don't know if inXile will even reveal what game they want to make in January, let alone begin the crowdfunding campaign for it.

We definitely won't see anything from them until the Wasteland 2 balance patch is released.

I hope they make the game world more seamless and add more looting/equipment management.

Not a single negative comment so far in this news thread. What a fucking decline of the codex, fapping to a truly mediocre game.

Thank you!!! Why people call the Dead Man Switch RPG is beyond me. Dragonfall improved things slightly but still faaaar from perfect. SR:R is nothing more then a simple time killer to play on your iPad. But graphics is good, I ll give them that.

Originally, I backed SRR for 15$ (10.5 €) : got two campaigns and a Director's Cut which, each time, improved on the previous iteration. I think HBS deserves (much) more moneyz from me...

Same here. HRR are true bros for giving out Dragonfall and the DC to backers for free.

I gave 30 but certainly got my money's worth,I also voted for the Hong Kong setting in the original kickstarter poll so if they are going to give it to us after all :d1p:

iPad-tard detected.
I bet that's not the only thing, that's beyond him. And we thought the console-tards were bad.

The game not being quite an RPG doesn't prevent it from being a game itself, and a good one.
You don't have to be an RPG to be a good game.
