So, NWN:EE was/is apparently a thing:

http://www.pcgamesn.com/baldur-s-ga...erview-trent-oster-building-bioware-06-mark-2

https://forums.beamdog.com/discussi...dog-has-quitted-on-the-idea-of-nwn-ee-for-now

https://forums.beamdog.com/discussi...that-the-next-project-for-beamdog-will-be-nwn

Long story short, Trent is still trying to make that happen, but there are licensing issues. He said in the interview that Wizards are much better to work with now and from various tweets it seems like the problem is actually Bioware. Why would they give a shit is beyond me.

Anyway, if NWN:EE happened, it would be the best thing in the history of human kind. And Beamdog philosphy of employing the community members spark endless possibilities. If it's really Bioware that screws Oster's efforts, then fuck them!

NWN Toolset Enhanced Edition would be cool, I don't know what kind of enhancement the base game needs.
They would enhance the toolset for sure, given their aim to work closely with community. Also, OC really needs some work, especially ecnounter design. Oster is aware of it, in the interview, he even says why that happen in the first place.

The OC doesn't merit any enhancements, it's irredeemable. I think Bioware is blocking development because they don't want their current fanbase to be exposed to it.

Beamdog gotta work on something. I guess the fallback plan would be F2P games.

Care to elaborate? Also, it should be noted that nobody knows for sure if Bioware is really causing this.

The only game changing mod that I can remember if the Companion AI, for NWN1. The rest were largely cosmetic fixes. I don't know if you could "fix" NWN though, since it is more of a toolset than an actual game like the IE ones. But I wouldn't be against the enhancement of those awful blocky 3d models. Perhaps a redesign to make it a party based game? All that sounds like modder material, instead of a supposedly professional team revamping the game. Then again, that's what these people do.

I thought this had already been done by Obsidian and was called NWN2.

I'm no graphics whore but fuck me I wouldn't go back to that ugly fucking engine and art design, fuck knows how Poles got Witcher out on it, witchcraft i'm thinking. Christ and that campaign was utter dreck, kinda liked scrap animations though.

Mind you saying that I still don't mind playing NWN2 mods, except for camera.

Not BIO. EA.

On top of that, NWN is awesome. Doesn't need 'enhancement' anymore than the BGs did. Espicially Beamdog's version of 'enhancement'. Perhaps, BIO/EA saw the bullshitz with Beamdog's IE agmes and said fuck that shit.

There are things that can be improved about NWN but Beamdog doesn't have the ability to do it.

That would require such an amount of enhancement that it would be easier to simply make a new campaign.
Replace OC with HotU (or that other expansion that was also kind of fun). Hide OC campaign somewhere in UI?

Only thing I want in a NWN is a better pathing, I only played custom campaigns but I hope they do IWN2 before NWN if they hope of doing it.

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Divinity: Original Sin 2 BattleTech Bubbles In Memoria A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.

At some point we'll be getting Siege of Dragonspear; Then we'll know how well Beamdog can create their own campaigns. I don't think it would be too far off from expecting a new campaign to release with NWN:EE (if that's even the project).

I can live without an 'enhanced' version with blur filtered textures and a horrible interface. Also I'm not yet convinced that dragonspear won't play like the horrible 'megamods' for baldurs gate 2, like the darkest day.

Bioware's current fanbase has no standards, they'd be emotionally engaged by the story of Fenthick and Aribeth. The lack of LGBTQ companions is Problematic, but nothing an enhanced edition couldn't fix.
