snow (which can fall in winter)
Glad they cleared that up.
If you've lived in the north for a while, you do realize that snow does not only fall in winter (at least if you go by the strictly calendar definition).

That kind of a cop out. It is more just that the snow/winter period is "pushed forward" especially near the sea as it take a long time for temperatures to rise and fall. So snow start quite late in the year and last longer into spring.

I have experienced though that in the Himalayas snow and winter is not as closely tied in the higher altitudes. Temperatures are less stable in the thin air.
