Please recommend/list necromancy games/mods for RPGs(Preferred) or possibly sim/strategy-like games. Neither WC3(The Scourge) nor Infinity Engine games could possibly count. I'm looking for some games with realistic necromancy(If it were real), none of this 'summon a pet skeleton for 2 minutes' that most games offer when they make their half-assed attempt. Diablo 2 and Baldur's Gate come to mind. Arcanum almost accomplished it well, but not quite.

Most games have the evil necromancer building an army of undead to crush and enslave a kingdom. Are there any games that allow the PLAYER CHARACTER to be the one doing said enslavement?

There are very few games which really delve into the dark arts as a viable option for a character. If BGII had offered a crypt stronghold for the necromancer wizard specialization, then that would be more or less along the right lines. The best I've seen so far would be a mod for NWN whose name eludes me, but it was buggy as all hell.

Hell let's take it a step further, any anti-hero RP games out there other than the BG/FO series?

Well, Eador has all that... EXACTLY all this.
It is RPG-strategy, and the demon/undead summoning way is very viable for a mage, but it lowers you reputation.

It is only in Russian, though. Translation is planned, but not soon.

It isn't an RPG, but Dungeon Keeper and Dungeon Keeper 2 (I'd recommend the sequel) are somewhat along that alley. It's a combination of sim-city for evil dungeon-villains and (back in the day - I doubt that anyone plays it multiplayer anymore) a multiplayer RTS. Basically, you dig out a dungeon, build places for monsters to sleep, eat and train, build traps of various types, casinos to improve happiness (but if a monster wins the jackpot it can take all your money - unless you kill the monster and take the cash back, which leads to a huge happiness drop by any other monsters that see it), etc. You can't directly command your minions, but instead have to 'goad' them into hanging around certain areas or design the dungeon to encourage them to patrol certain routes - once an enemy is seen by a minion they can use an alarm system if there is one, or run back to get your other minions. Some of the more powerful minions are undead - from memory vampires are the 2nd most powerful minion you can get, and can themselves summon about 10 skeletons (or was that a deathknight? Been a while since I played). In the single player game you get various intruding parties of heroes (fighters, dwarves, elves, mages etc) who invade your dungeon, that you have to dispose of via minions or traps.

Edit: Oh, and if a minion wins the casino jackpot, the entire dungeon starts dancing to Disco Inferno:) It's better than it sounds.

    WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING

Anyway, Bone Kenning and Necromancer are two well-made (iirc) mods for Neverwinter Nights 1 that are based around being a necromancer, with appropriate systems. I think Necromancer was quite a bit better, and standalone (whereas Bone Kenning ended on a cliffhanger then I think the author died NO SILLY JOKES PLEASE), but it was broken by an official patch at some point and I'm not sure it was fixed.

Does Morrowind+Vampire Embrace count? You ARE making undead.

I think someone did make a necromancery mod for morrowind though.

Oh, does temple of elemental evil follow the 3.5 rules for the raise undead spell? If it does, that should be what you want (just keep in mind that animials and monsters make better undead than humanoids).

Oh, Battle For Wesnoth had a necromancery campaign by default according to TVtropes (wonder if I should ever try that game?)

Dominions has the closest conceptual realization. Domain that kills population and turn people into undead. Rituals that raise army of skeletons, liches, vampires, wraiths, ghosts, and undead titans. Mages can summon horde of skeletons on battlefield. Spells like Utterdark that covers the entire battlefield with darkness. Global enchantment that drains life forces from every living things in the world. It's amazing.

How about the Heroes of Might and Magic games? Probably not quite what you're looking for, but you can be a Demon army or an Undead army. I always thought it was rather fun to be the undead (especially with a Necromancy Amplifier). Whenever you killed an enemy, a certain % of their fallen soldiers rose to become skeletons in your army.

There was also Disciples II, which played somewhat like HoMM (but you only had about 4 guys in your combat force, but they leveled up). It had a neat effect where the ground near your cities became 'corrupted', and this corruption is what let you claim various items/resources on the map. I think they're working on a sequel which should be out later this year.

OMFG!!! Dominions 3 demo shown below. This is pretty much what I was looking for :)
In what other game can your avatar be a fountain of blood? Hell there are so many choices, demon lich and many more. I just wish you could name your armies instead of those lame fantasy names, I'd prefer to see my army labeled as 'Evil Oppressive Inquisition Garrison #5' than 'Argolis'

Dungeon Crawl, an excellent roguelike that has tiles (if you are so inclined) features a pantheon of evil gods. One, Yredelemnul is focused on raising and controlling undead armies and lets you use necromantic powers without needing to learn Necromancy.

Another one, named Kikubaaqudgha, favors actual necromancers, lets you control undead and gifts you books including those with the most powerful necromancy spells. The game also has an extensive array of necromantic spells, a couple of them hideously powerful.

Finally, you can play the game as undead critter - either an evil mummy or a shambling, rotting ghoul.

There is a "allow rename" option when you're starting a new game, on the same window with the difficulty setting. Turn this on and you can rename your leaders (pretender, mage, general, priest, scout etc.).

Speaking of HoM&M, HoM&M IV had an amazing Death campaign. Goldot (the protagonist), his goals, his methods and his personality were one big fuck you to the common portrayal of necromancers.

Hey, it's not our problem if Twilight is the only source you draw vampires from.

I never bothered playing the HoMM4 campaign. What was he like? In what ways did he give Necromancers the middle finger?

Goldot rightfully believed that trying to conquer the world would alienate all major political powers from him and eventually result in an alliance targeted exclusively at him. His campaign is an attempt to create a state ruled by necromancers that would be at least grudgingly tolerated by other countries.

That campaign is good indeed. Also to be noted that the protangonist is a half undead and base on this point solely people see him as a monster and tried to kill him. However he didn't go all cliche evil necromancer and seek his revenge when he gained power, which he has all the reasons to. Instead, he recognized he has unlimited time to enjoy his autonomy and he planned to enjoy his unlife peacefully. It makes sense - conquering the world isn't something so appealing when you have all the time in the world.

Who the fuck cares? Even if it's the second coming of Christ, it's STILL IN FUCKING RUSSIAN!

Seriously, how do you become "half undead"? Dying? Caught the plague?
