That's actually not a bad idea, and the setting caters to tribe vs. tribe kind of gameplay. As long as it doesn't affect the quality of the SP updates or Darghul, I'd be cool with it.

BTW, got your game in the mail a couple of days ago and have BEEN PLAYING IT NONSTOP! Great game!

Hello quebec_guy3003,

thank you for these suggestions! I will consider this over the long term. It's nothing I can do fast and easily, though; it'll be a HUGE amount of work. So I think the only way I can get there will be by gradual improvement of my existing technology.

With DARGHUL, I've already accomplished one pre-condition - one single large game world instead of a number of small individual locations. As a next step, NPCs will need to be a great deal smarter, able to act reasonably in unforeseen (and not pre-arranged) situations. This will be necessary anyway if there is to be a party system with henchmen following you around. Later I could build on this by improving artificial intelligence still further, making NPCs able to form their own groups and pursue their own goals etc. Once this level of intelligence is in place, it'd be time to add all the basic technical stuff required to handle multi-player human players, their connections and so on.

So while I may finally arrive at that goal bit by bit, I can probably realize many of your ideas on the way. I've significantly improved trading in DARGHUL; a team/party system is already planned for the long term (perhaps DARGHUL II); once NPCs have this level of intelligence, a wife will be easy to program, and wars between groups of NPCs ought to be possible, too. However, all of this will take lots of time and cost a great deal of money, so to everyone looking forward to such a game, please be patient...
