Holy shit they're actually bragging about having the ability to dash and use combos as features and a major incentive to buy the game.

Are you fucking kidding me?

Reminder that Shark Man was in Mega Man Battle Network 1, as well in that craptastic DOS Mega Man 1.

It's the major mechanic of the game.

Are they supposed to hide it and pretend this game is Megaman 11?

and being able to run is a major mechanic in call of duty, but activision doesn't brag about running in their commercials because it's something that people expect from a game.

I do hope someone makes Megaman 11 someday.
Man, what would we even get? What do the fans want at this point? The series is in a coma indefinitely (crappy collections notwithstanding, Capcom hates the blue bomber), and the last two games were basically the same things we got on the NES. I can't even imagine a sequel at this point, it's surreal. It's definitely not this game, I'm certain of that.

That's exactly what the fans want. Wily does bad shit, eight robot masters, eight special weapons, four castle stages, go!

It'll be a licence to print money.

So what do we have?

- First weapon is Backers only, some kind of localized mine I think. Not sure if there's a Mega Man equivalent.
- Chargable fire explosion. Takes way too long to get to full power for a game this fast.
- Slightly longer ranged Water Balloon.
- An electric version of Triple Blade.
- Longer ranged Charge Kick.
- Drill Bomb with faster movement speed.
- The forbidden lovechild of Tornado Hold and Rolling Cutter.
- Slash Claw with an AoE chargable. Basic attack is free.
- A very slow firing (but possibly quite powerful) laser.

The weapons all seem to use quite a bit of energy, with few shots on the bar. To be fair, only the water and electric weapons seem like they can be used while on the run to deal with enemies at a distance. Maybe the missile too. The slash attack makes you get too close, and the other ones seem to be just too eh.

Also, I don't like how you have to switch between the weapons like that. Takes way too long, almost as if you're playing Half-Life and not put on the function that if you press a number button you immediately go to that weapon.

Nah, that's just Jim Sterling's usual quality.

:troll:

But in all seriousness: yes, it does. The stages are just so... empty. Few to no enemies, traps are rare, even platforming obstacles are rare. Level design's just messed up.

The latest trailer is lame as hell, as expected by now. Checking the IGN review, it seems it's not even remotely balanced. I hope the few fans it had learn their lesson and never trust Keiji I. anymore.

Well at least the final boss battle is hard and rewarding with a satisfying conclusion to the story. :troll:

Even the music sucks, in that fucking battle :negative:
The funniest thing is that in my country (Italy) the most important reviewers are all rewarding this shit with high scores (8, 7.5) :M

:hmmm:
So, 3+ years of production, total creative control and more than 4 millions of $, we got this lameass thing as a final boss... It's quite sad how the mighty have fallen (heh). Also, I didn't care much about the story, but you know something is wrong when the villain's argument has a point and the mentor's response is "NO! YOU WRONG! I WILL SHOW EVERYONE I WAS RIGHT!!". And that's ignoring the fact their mouths are not even animated. Perhaps Capcom was right when they kicked K. I. out. On the other hand, the comments of that video are pure gold.

Anyway, have this as a comparison of Megaman's earlier games to rub more salt into the wound.

Not sure, the IGN review is only about the campaign being played on normal mode, despite the game having 3 harder difficulties. They also ignore the rest of the game (challenge rooms, battle race, etc). Go figure.
