X4's OST is probably my favorite, right after X1.
It has a certain quality that just absolutely radiates "90's anime" for me.

By the way, is there an ETA for MMX Corrupted? Thing's been indev for years now.

It will come as a free download in a humble bundle along with Grimoire, Age of Decadence, Knights of the Chalice 2 and Megaman Legends 3, just wait!

To be fair, MMX has been getting regular, real updates for a long time now. AFAICT at this point they're just fleshing out all the areas and enemies. They've already got all the weapons and suit upgrades and such finished for both characters, and have had the game engine running for a while already so it's all been tested, not just theoretically designed. Until I hear "I've decided it'll be faster to rewrite the entire project in Unity because flash is annoying me right now" I'm going to assume it's being steadily worked on. Would estimate the ETA to be another year or two- dev seems to like putting the polish on his work, so I figure maybe ~9 months to finish the content and another ~9 to work out all the kinks to his satisfaction.

Didn't they say the game was "completely done" and that they moved the release date to next year for sales reasons? :nocountryforshitposters:

The diversity of content is beautiful. Negative commentaries are mostly "game sucks because I dislike Inafune!!!!!11" (ie: butthurt)

Megaman fans are disappointed because Inafune isn't the idealized game developer* they thought he was. But Inafune never pretended to be anyway.

*the one who fights against the evil greedy corporations and only wants to please fans

Another delay, nice :
Regarding The Mighty No. 9 Release

To the fans eagerly awaiting the release of Mighty No. 9,

Unfortunately, we have an announcement that will be very disappointing to all of you. In preparation for the February release of Mighty No. 9 we have been working hard with our partners to resolve any network issues and porting work necessary to publish Mighty No. 9 on the various platforms. However, the issues relating to the network modes were more critical than expected, and it has become apparent that we will need to delay the game from its February 9th release date. We have been working up until the very last moment to resolve these issues in order to make the February release, but it has become clear that we no longer have enough time to fix the issues and have everything prepared for release.

The reason for the delay is rooted in bugs inside the network modes, and specifically problems with matchmaking. There are two large reasons for this problem, one of them being the large number of platforms supported (the solution for each platform is slightly different) and the other stems from the fact that the engine we are using is no longer being updated which means adjustments for matchmaking and online code are being made manually (actually reprogramming parts of the engine by the dev team themselves). Unfortunately, this is all a result of miscalculations on the part of us, the development staff. As a result, our fans who have been looking forward to Mighty No. 9 have been forced to wait for over half a year longer than expected, and for that we are sincerely sorry. I want to take this chance to apologize personally, and on the behalf of the development staff.

Over the end of the year break and the beginning of 2016, the development staff has been working on these issues non-stop without break, and thanks to their hard work the end is in sight. We continue to make progress to resolve these last issues that have been holding up the release of the game on the different platforms.

Because we are constantly working on it in cooperation with all our partners, we want to wait and make sure that everything is confirmed to be ready before giving a new specific release date. But we expect it to realistically be in Spring 2016.

For this 3rd delay of the game, we have no excuses for disappointing our fans and especially our backers once more. We want to take this chance to express our sincerest apologies to everyone who has looked forward to the release.

Although we are far past our original release date, the release of Mighty No. 9 is still right around the corner. We are all working hard to make sure that we can finish and release the game to all of our fans as quickly as possible, and ask once more for your support of this project that we have created together over these last few years.

Keiji Inafune
If only the delays were the biggest problem of the game...

At this point I hope that Capcom releases Mega Man 11 right before Mighty No. 9 just to mess with everyone involved.

wow MN9 looks... really pedestrian. it doesn't look _bad_, it just looks boring as fuck. frankly it also seems literally unplayable for someone like me who hates cutscene interruptions. every single video of MN9 that i saw was plagued with constant barrages of horrible cutscenes and dialog instead of actual gameplay.

the video of MMX:Corruption a few posts earlier looks exciting and fun and like it requires a good combination of twitch-skills and platforming knowledge.

how could they have spent so much time and money on MN9 and produced something so basic?

Mighty No. 9 finally has a release date "set in stone"
Will launch in June, for reals this time.

Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune's crowdfunded spiritual successor to the Blue Bomber, Mighty No. 9, will finally launch on 24th June in Europe.

jpg

Those in North America and Asia will receive it three days earlier on 21st June.

Mighty No. 9 has become somewhat notorious for its many delays. Originally targeting a September 2015 release date, it was pushed back to February, then delayed once again until "spring" 2016.

That's a lot of delays, but Inafune seems confident about this one as he claimed the game had "gone gold", meaning that it's wrapped up a release build. That being said, Inafune noted that developer Comcept is in "the last final stages of being able to deliver it into your hands".

"The release date we are announcing is set in stone and there will be no further delays for the game," Inafune plainly stated of this newly scheduled launch.

However, this launch will only encompass the console and computer versions ( PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, Mac and Linux), with the handheld Vita and 3DS ports to follow at an unannounced later date.

Then to March. Then Inafune will profusely apologize and announce a release window of Q4 2017.

I was wondering what happened to this project. I thought it was cancelled, and now that Megaman games are available on Steam, this seems a bit pointless.
