Only Richard "Lord Yardsale" Garriott's partnership can save them now!
:troll:
ULTIMAVILLE?

"In this exciting roleplaying strategy game you play the role of supreme strategist and overall swell guy, Lord British, who must build homes for his harem of trans- homo- and even heterosexual concubines, thus unlocking further emotional engagements."
THE ULTIMATE COLLECTOR - http://www.portalarium.com/index.php/ultimate-collector
The first social media game based on shopping and collecting!
Ultimate Collector: Garage Sale takes collecting to a whole new level of fun. Start first with a basic home and yard and then begin your journey to collecting and shopping nirvana. Search newspapers for that unique item that will complete your collection. Hold a garage sale at your house to bring in some cash. Add patio furniture, a bird bath and bouncy castle in your yard to add to its curb appeal. Visit other garage sales to complete your collections.
Search for practically anything: teddy bears, tool kits, Barbie dolls, historic sets of armor, weapons, electronics and much, much more. Share you collections with your friends and show them off inside your home.
But Ultimate Collector is about more than just collecting. It's about decorating and growing your home and impressing your friends. Place your treasured collections in special display cases inside your home. Purchase larger pieces of property to increase the size of your house. Search other garage sales to find that perfect decoration. You'll be the talk of the neighborhood.
Ultimate Collector is truly a first of its kind experience in social network gaming.
Ultimate Collector: Garage Sale is from legendary game maker Richard Garriott his team of experienced designers. Ultimate Collector: Garage Sale will be a PC product and available on Facebook in the first quarter of 2012. It will be available on other platforms/devices later in 2012.
  • A collecting and shopping social media game
  • From hall of fame designer Richard Garriott
  • Decorate your own house and show off your collections
  • Shop and collect from garage sales, markets and auctions
  • Go shopping in-game at nationally known retailers
  • Playable on a PC and available on Facebook in first quarter of 2012

Well, his juice is out. It's like expecting from a 50 years old sports athlet that he can bring the same performance he did in his twenties. Lord British had his time. Maybe he should write a book about his life or something. Would be more interesting.

FUCK YEAH!!!
I HOPE THEY GET THEIR ASSES LIQUIDATED SOON (ALSO ASSETS)

“At the end of the day, though, virtual goods might not be a viable business strategy. People eventually stop spending money in virtual goods and want to spend that money on real goods.”
No fucking kidding, mr. Distinguished Successful Businessman Guy. Even retards have their limits and cannot be squeezed indefinitely, if you're not producing and selling actual products.

Not that I play these games, but why exactly is this so great? It won't effect the games we want in anyway. It's not as if all the people that play Facebook games will suddenly begin to demand for hardcore cRPGs nor does it mean Zynga will switch to making turn based RPGs or something.

It may mean that other companies will think twice before going into social gaming as heavily as they're trying to right now.

Guys, don't get all excited. They could easily make some new changes and/or undo older changes to cause customers to return enmasse.

They could put out a super popular new game that just blows everyone away

Most importantly, Zynga's owner/founder has probably made hundreds of millions already. So what if the company falls flat? He has made all the money he and his descendats could ever need.

Are Zynga’s lights ready to be turned off?

Sena, who has a $2-a-share price target and underweight, or sell, rating on Zynga’s stock, said there are many confusing signs coming from the company. He cited statistics from research firm AppData showing that while Zynga’s monthly average users rose in the last quarter by about 5%, to 268 million, those numbers are essentially flat from a year ago.

If this is going to keep them away from gaming industry, then it's only marginally worse than them dying horribly in a fire with all their accursed progeny, although I'm pretty sure that not being petty is not a concept that can be grasped by a mudslim so I don't know why am I even writing this.

Zynga just laid off 100+ employees (incl. my friends) in its Austin office during the Apple Event. Gave them 2 hours to vacate. RT please.

They're just going to form another studio. It's not Zynga that needs to die : something must happen so that they do not ever fucking code a game ever again ; EA and Ubi are both on the track of replacing them anyway. The only solutions I see are deeply illegal though. Accidents would be convenient.

Looks like Zynga stock is now worth less their total assets.
http://www.vg247.com/2012/10/11/zynga-worth-absolutely-nothing-analyst/

J.P. Morgan analyst Doug Anmuth, as reported by the LA Times, estimates that Zynga’s total cash on hand, owned securities, and property are worth $2.46 per share.

At time of writing, Zynga stock is worth $2.35 which means investors consider stock in the company to be worth even less than its actual material wealth; it has no value whatsoever to traders.

Zynga’s stock dropped sharply at the end of last week after it lowered its forecasts; analysts don’t expect any improvement, with Sterne Agee’s Arvind Bhatia predicting “significant” layoffs over the next few months

When Farmville can be a billion dollar a year game, guess what every publisher is going to try and make instead of good games?

Making games anyone else can mimic in a day and spending ungodly amounts of money... how was this plan not successful?
