I recently went to see Skrillex, look at the people going apeshit during 'first of the year':

Wow, that computer is really rocking out. I've never witnessed such precise musicianship.

Well, you know how electronic music 'concerts' work. It's more a party-like distraction, where the guy who made (or remixed) the music you like shows up to play his vinyls and everybody has a good time. They do 'mix it up' a little bit though, it's not like they hit play and that's it.

Hahaha! I got goosebumps looking at the CALL 911 NOW part. Fucking awesome.

I'm going to see Tinie Tempah in June, hopefully it will be a good party. David Guetta sucked ass last year.

This. They're more of a famous MC playing their music live rather than a musical performer in the traditional sense.

Last year I was in Budapest for the Sziget festival, mainly to see Motorhead, Judas Priest, Deftones, Suicidal Tendencies, Within Temptation, Prodigy and Chemical Brothers, among others, but I caught Zombie Nation spinning in one of the tents and really liked it. Never cared much for Guetta though.

Another... The lyrics are great too: man and woman are about to start a trip to Venus. So romantic. I say this without irony. A great song.

Mainstream music? Isn't everything you post in any music thread very much mainstream, what's this thread supposed to be about exactly

All dubstep house gatherings are like that, everyone just stands still not saying anything and nodding their heads.

Venetian Snares counts as mainstream, right? Right?
I am horribly confused about what's popular and what isn't.

What's exactly so appealing in dubstep? It seams even more primitive than any kind of trance music (and i actually do enjoy some of it).

Definitely the drop. To me, a good dubstep DJ is one who knows how to make a drop that forces you to start banging your head.

The transition from "lalalala" to "rjkojRJHSDIKFJIKWENJFIKWENMKDSkldmkfsdmfd". The point in the song where the "normal" music gives way to the heavily-edited bass-banging and what have you.

Cool beats and rhythm. The tracks posted here are a pretty extreme form of dubstep.

Although a lot of the mellow end of dubstep has adopted the term bass music so there you go.

Some dubstep that is heavily based in percussion:

    Something more on topic:
