Chapter 3, part 10: Terrorizing the Countryside
Veterans or not, it's feeding time for our host of horrors.
A new pet is summoned, and it is hungry as well.
We rest some more, and receive yet another special hill giant encounter.
We can't just let him die after slaying half of his clan, right?
I'm starting to wonder who the real monsters are in this campaign.
It's a good opportunity to head back to Bywater and do some trading.
Huzzah!
We head back to town, sell various items and purchase others at the old woman's shop.
Ooh, I love red!
(this gives Nex +75 spell points)
eklektyk scribes a few useful scrolls. (Adrenalin, in particular - basically a scroll of Haste)
Following that, we revisit the Pentagram in the Kobold caves.
What could possibly go wrong?
Insolent wretch! Minions, attack!
Hmmm... a fairly tough magic user. Better use this...
Now this is how fights should be. With Nex's pets in the front row, and me in the third or fourth, carefully aiming and hurling my trusty axe.
On Nex's turn, she sizes up the demon's lackeys in an attempt to determine whether they're susceptible to paralysis spells.
Drat!
I'll just stick to my spécialité.
Anti'ids are powerful magic users. They're not always careful with their attacks, though, so expect some losses due to friendly fire.
Don't ye know, pump it up!
Bzz bzz.
Here's johnny!
The Anti'id in action. He usually casts 2-3 spells, but I only managed to capture one.
Crimson almost single-handedly brings the demon to its knees.
High five!
FINISH HIM!
And thus ends Rewop.
Ooh, I fancy that axe!
Not pictured here, but we actually take damage from the explosion.
We pack up the dead wizard's shit, and head back to Bywater.
I'm a delicate butterfly, I need all the protection I can get!
Another source of disturbance is soon investigated.
You're welcome!
The battle begins, and before you can say Jack Robinson, the Anti'id pulverizes the Dragon.
Like taking candy from a goblin.
Malac Ross, now 20% less squishy.
I like what I see here!
Once again we return to Bywater to sell junk.
This double dagger is actually cursed:
Malac gets a pair of gloves befitting his profession.
Now would be a good time to survey the rest of the party's equipment:
Feeling
cocky confident, we decide to try our chances with the
Temple of Elemental Evil Spider Tower.
The battle at the gate is won with little difficulty.
However, the ruckus alerts the guardians inside the Tower to our presence, resulting in a TPK when we attempt to just storm the place. C&C and all of that.
