ScubaV, the first Blade movie waspretty good, but I'd say it's more like this:

Ean

We still can become the champion of Mankind!

Also, voting B.

You don't start off by devouring dead gods as they drift throughout the Astral Plane, this is just the beginning. We devoured a bunch of cosmic voices that gave us superpowers, somehow I doubt that eating one person every six months will be able to sate that kind of hunger. That sort of choice is trivial - Ean has killed thousands of men in battle. If it were that easy, he could just chow on a corpse after every battle.

The voices decided to trust us under the belief that we were strong and noble enough to withstand and manage this, but if it ever comes to the point where it might be too much to handle, martyring ourselves to allow humanity a chance to progress with as little interference from outside forces will be the best thing to do.

B. We need our sword.

Indeed, I don't think it's "lol your a cannibal now" with things going as they did before except the occasional description of us chowing down on some corpses. It is likely we require other Immortals and Gieloth.

B bandwagoning is victorious.

Chapter 4.10: Escape from Knossos

With the thread, you made swift work of the Labyrinth, dispatching the minor monsters that attempted to stop you with a sword that you had taken from the fallen guard. Retracing your steps, you found no clue as to where your Honourblade is, but you managed to make your way to the vault you had been after the last time you were in here. You retrieved the statuette with little fuss; it was a small, golden effigy of a bull-headed man, similar to the Minotaur in design. You seem to have recall seeing a similarly carved divine statue back in Heliopolis, but the name of the god escapes you at the moment. Holding it in your hand, you can feel that it is a powerful artifact, but it does not appear to react to your presence, nor do you feel any stronger just by having it with you. Perhaps Sekhenun’s preparations will awaken it. You stuff it in your clothes, and move on.

***

The Labyrinth’s exit was a platform. It operated the same way as the one you came in on; likely another of Daedalus’s machines. You step onto it and pull a lever. As the platform rises up, you realize that exiting the Labyrinth may have been a mistake.

Your fears are confirmed as the platform comes to a halt on the surface. You are in a courtyard of the great Palace of Knossos. The Labyrinth had its sole entrance and exit designed so that it would be fully under Minos’s purview, in his domain. A dozen guards, who had been patrolling, stand and look at you, their faces a mixture of confusion and wariness. One of them swiftly starts a shout. “Intruder! Intruder in the palace!” Minos had them well trained.

All of a sudden, you feel a Gieloth presence at the edge of your senses. It begins heading your way, from within the palace.

It looks like Minos himself was nearby, and has come to investigate the sudden new arrival from deep within his beloved maze.

***

A. You make a break for it, drawing steel on the guards. Once you are free of the courtyard, you run from Minos and attempt to find a way to flee the palace. This is not the place for you to risk your newfound life. Your powers are still recovering, and you do not fancy your chances if you lounge around.

B. You cut through the guards as fast as you can and confidently head straight for where Minos is. If you act quickly enough, you might be able to defeat the tyrant by surprising him while he’s not escorted by his guards.

C. You attempt to talk and deal your way out of the palace. Fleeing blindly would only get you lost in the palace, while fighting is a futile endeavour. Even if the guards do not see reason, Minos should. A king as greedy and vain as he can definitely be negotiated with.

D. The lever to return the platform back down to the Labyrinth lies at the back of the courtyard. You attempt to fight your way over to it and hurry back to the platform. You will return to Daedalus’s tower and pick another path of exit.

Well there! Not the brightest of ideas. I think we'll be boned if we try to wrestle a Gieloth at present, even one as decadent as Minos.

I say we pick option A or D. I don't fancy meeting Minos, not for a quick chat, nor for a tussle. Heading back to the tower might be fruitless, just as trying to fight our way out might be. But we're still a warrior, we're still really fast and strong, and we can regenerate. That should put us well above any normal mortals we might encounter. And it's a good thing our Gieloth radar is still functional. Would be lulzy though, if the presence we feel is one of his daughters and not himself. The potion should still be working, right?

I doubt we can take Minos right now, and talking with him isn't going to end well. He's probably still pissed about the Minotaur and might suspect we had something to do with that. Not to mention that we have stolen his prized artifact - how would we explain that one away? D is tempting, but I don't really like the idea of backtracking - let's just take the quickest route out of here. With our telepathy returned we should be able to avoid the guards in the palace (if we also have our shapeshifting ability, escaping from here should be easy).

C let's have a chat with the man. Do note that there are FOUR possible Gieloth presences in the palace. Minos himself, Ariadne or Pasiphae and finally, Sekhenun! If it's the latter, the chat will be DEFINITELY worth it.

We are on a little island whose king is out to get us. We don't know if there is boat traffic going out. Ordinary soldiers are no match to us but he might have those minotaurs stashed somewhere. Better to try and take Minos out now when he isn't expecting it.

Talking to Minos (and it's almost certainly Minos and not Sekhenun, a year has passed) just might work. He is paranoid, past his prime, and his telepathic abilities are probably weak considering that an immortal and a Gieloth had been operating under his nose for quite some time.

We can come up with a clever half-truth: we fought the Minotaur a year ago, but then Theseus slew us out of jealousy. We awoke just now and we want nothing better than to make the Athenians pay for their treachery. Seeing as Minos is blinded by his hatred for Athens, it might be just the thing to put his guard down.

There's no way we'll be able to take Minos out with B, not without getting even more injured in some way. C just might work, but probably is complicated by the loss of the statuette; if we want to keep that, we better hightail it out. Not sure if A or D is better for that, though.

Flopped to C. It's the smarter option. A might leave us the statuette, but after we escape (if at all), what next? Where do we go. Where is Lady Mehrune? She'll be our first stop on finding Sekhenun, if she/it did not stay here(which she/it most assuredly did not), she/it probably is still with our dear consul, being the head handmaiden of a superpower's international diplomat and all.
And without Sekhenun, figuring out what happened to us will be much more difficult and the statuette will be useless. Besides, we can always come back for it later.

And there's always the possibility that it's Ariadne or her shy sister. Still under the love potion:smug:. And if it is Minos, well, I rather think we can work out a deal.

We aren't currently in a position to bargain, baltika9. I'm fine with meeting Minos again, but after we have recovered. We need time to get our bearings first, I think. Running into him hours after waking up from our year long sleep will not do us any good. Let's understand the extent of our present capabilities, and proceed from there.

We'd be going out into the world blind, though, and hungry. With no clue where to look for Sekhenun. And I doubt we'd be able to use our "betrayed by a fukken Athenian" excuse we can use now, and I doubt we'll be able to smuggle ourselves into the labyrinth again, to make it look believable.

Treave, requesting a confirmation: Ean thinks the Gieloth presence is Minos, or he knows it is Minos. And can he sense any other gieloth signatures around?

Why's it so crucial for us to kill, or persuade, Minos anyway? What is there for us in Cyprus, now that Sekhenun is probably long gone and we have the statuette?
