...there was a disturbance in my heart, a voice that spoke there and said, I want, I want, I want! It happened every afternoon, and when I tried to suppress it it got even stronger. It only said one thing, I want, I want!

And I would ask, "What do you want?"

But this was all it would ever tell me. It never said a thing except I want, I want, I want [moar] !

Shit has hit the fan, ladies and gentlemen.
    • Dahlia Gillespie was playing us all along to get to Alessa. It seems she's the one pulling the stings. Lesson : Don't trust Old Hags.
    • Alessa might not be the only one to blame for all this Hell, she may actually be a victim. She may also be Dahlia's daughter...
    • Harry, once more, became unconscious and woke up with Lisa.
    • Lisa however, having remembered something that deeply disturbed her, was in a frantic condition and left Harry alone.

Well, at least we managed to save Cybil. Let's leave the doctor's office...

Where are we ? This isn't the Hospital as we remember it !

[IMG] What could be making things like this ? I have a feeling if I take the elevator down, I'll find out.

    And down we go...

What is this place ? It looks like the Hospital, but it's not.

We've got no map to help us orientate, we'll have to be careful.
We enter the first room to the left.

It's empty, except for one thing.

[IMG] I can't get it out no matter how hard I pull...

Darn. Let's check out the next room.

Hey, it's the same room as the one we previously found at the hospital ! Only this time the bird cage holds something...

Another key we can't get to. Let's get back at the corridor.

    :FOOTSTEPS:

    Who...

    CHERYL ?!

She disappeared into that door. Was that Cheryl ?

    [IMG] It's locked.

Damn. We must find a way to get in there.
Let's search the rest of the area. The next door leads to...

What ?! It's the antique shop. This is seriously fuck up man. Maybe we should have a look at that clock :

[IMG] One of the hands of the clock looks like a key ! But I can't get to it, the glass cover wont budge.

Could we crush it with our hammer ?

[IMG] ...Didn't even make a scratch.

:( no such luck, we must play by the rules of this place. Hey, I wonder if the secret passage is still here...

    Nope. Let's get back out.

Puppet nurses frequent this place too. We can handle them.

Further on, we find more locked, marked doors...

Phaleg, Ophiel. Hagith... It seems that these are the names of the so-called "Olympic Spirits" :

^ That goes to show that every little thing in Silent Hill is carefully thought of and it's not there just because it sounded kewl.
Now, I wonder where that next door leads to...

    The basement ?

    What the... another mindfuck.

A solitary wooden desk lies at the center of the schoolroom. There are words carved on its surface...

Cute. The rest of the room is empty. The door at the other side leads to...

    ...another creepy place.

[IMG] There's a screwdriver and a set of Pliers on the bed.

We pocket them of course. Hmm, the pliers gave me an idea, let's head back to that room with the faucet :

And use the pliers to take out the key...

Bingo ! Now we can open the Ophiel door.

Welcome to the puzzle area of "Nowhere". Here we'll find two major puzzles. I was gonna let you handle them, but I don't want to disrupt the flow of the chapter. At the end of the corridor we find a big plaque :

At the other end there are two more things of interest. Another plaque on the left...

And some kind of mechanism with the letters of the alphabet as buttons :

What do we do now ? As with all Silent Hill puzzles, it's not straight-forward but it's logical. The first slate talked about a line up in order of age. Let's assume that the numbers in front of the names in the list are their ages. Then the order by age would be :

    18 Albert Lords
    35 Lydia Findly
    38 Edward C. Briggs
    45 Roberta Morgan
    60 Trevor F. White

Let's also assume the order is meant to be taken from younger to older. So, what should we enter on the panel ? At first I tried to enter the initials of both first and last names but it didn't get me anywhere. Then I entered only the first names : A, L, E, R, T

ALERT ? Ok let's see it it works...

    :CLICK:

Yes, the door is unlocked !

This room looks like a storeroom, it holds nothing but unimportant boxes (The name on the boxes looks like another reference though)

Guess what the next room is...

Yup, the morgue. No cheap-scare tactics this time either.

Something is shining on the wall...

[IMG] It's an amulet with the sign of Solomon.

It looks jewmportant, we take it. Let's leave.

But as we go through the storage room...

    WHO ?!

[IMG] I get it now... Why I'm still alive even though everyone is dead.

[IMG] I'm not the only one who's still walking around. I'm the same as them. I just hadn't noticed it before.

    [IMG] Lisa ?

[IMG] Stay by me, Harry. Please. I'm so scared, help me...

Harry freaks out and pushes her back.

Sad tune plays in the background

She is crying, but it's not tears...

    She's coming closer...

    Pleading for help...

But Harry has none to offer.

    Terrified, he leaves the room...

And holds the door as Lisa's cries can be heard behind it...

    ..

    ..

    ..

    ..

    ..

    ..

    ..

At last the cries stop. We decide to re-enter the room.

Lisa is gone, but something's on the floor...

This has to be one of the saddest moments in video game history :(

    [IMG] Lisa...

Yup, this stuff is p. fucked up.

It's no wonder that copying this bizarre and unreal feel was more and more difficult in each sequel...

Well, she wasn't just "a" puppet nurse. She was the nurse who treated Alessa, so Silent Hill has treated her differently, but more on that later.

I hate those fuckers too, worse is when they try to convince everyone that FF7 is the GREATEST GAME EVAH 'cause that was the 1st rpg they played and they don't want to admit how bad that game is.

I remember now that the death of Lisa Garland was one of the reasons my friend and I had nightmares about this game.

Simply put, Silent Hill is a game that was way ahead of its video game time on several levels--graphics, symbolism & references, atmosphere, music, and writing.

    Brilliant LP, ghostdog.

Lisa... it seems she's gone now, twisted by the laws of this place yet into another nightmare. Farewell Lisa, we'll always remember you as a beautiful, caring nurse. And who knows, maybe we'll meet again someday.

Trying to shake off the horrible memories of what took place, we return back to the main corridor and enter the first door to the left.

We step into a strange room. It seems we've stumbled onto another puzzle. Good, it will help take our mind off things for a while...

4 zodiac signs are set upon the walls with a number underneath, while at the far end we find a metallic column with 3 more zodiac signs.

These 3 zodiac signs, don't have a number. Instead they show a numpad underneath.

Here is everything we have at our disposal :

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Obviously we need to associate a number with the remaining three signs. But what number ? This is yet another typical SH puzzle that throws a red herring at you. Your first impulse would be to search for the solution in the zodiac circle. That was my first impulse anyway, and it's the wrong move. You're not required to have knowledge of the zodiac signs, all you need is to observe how the numbers may be connected with the pictures.

The crab was the one that brought me closer to the solution. It has a "10" underneath and guess what, it also has 10 limbs. Afterwards it was easy, the fish has 0 limbs, the scales have 2 limbs and the goat has 4 limbs. Thus we should enter "4" under the bull, "6" under the centaur and "8" under the twins.

    All right !

    [IMG] It's a large stone with a clock-face design.

Clock face design ? Maybe we should pay a visit to that clock again. Let's leave the ro-

    Yikes !

More nurses try to hinder our way, but they are dealt with.

Now let's see what's the deal with the clock.

    :CLOCK CHIMES:

    Hey, something's happening !

    :CLOCK CHIMES:

    :CLOCK CHIMES:

Hmm, it chimed three times and then nothing happens. What's goin-

    DAMN

Great, we just had a shower of unbreakable glass on our face. Well, at least we can grab the key now.

Now where's that Hagith door... Is it that one ?

    Whoops, wrong door.

    SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT !!!

Get back ! ...The hammer won't do us any good here.

...the shotgun on the other hand... :smug:

Phew, that will teach us not to bust in uninvited at nurse conventions.

    Let's find the Hagith door.

Hmm, it leads to an elevator... one that's apparently working.

    First stop, the second floor.

Nurses stalk these halls too, but we take them out one at a time. Let's search the rooms. One of the doors leads to...

    ...The jewelry store ?!

I'm sure mr. Kwazanian wont mind us picking his tore clean.

    We take it of course.

[IMG] The snake in the symbol of Mercury signifies alchemy.

Does it now ? Ok, anything else in here ?

At last, now we'll be able to "use the ring" !

[IMG] It's a rustic hefty-looking ring of unknown material.

Hey, outside the store we can still see the Silent Hill Center ! I wonder if we can go there...

Even so, it's another fine mindfuck moment. Let's go back into the dark corridors.

More nurses wanting to draw our blood. Further down we find a door we can "unlock". This usually happens when the door is only locked from one side, I wonder where it leads...

What the... Back to the first floor ? This place sure is crazy. But let's go back to the second floor and continue our search.

    Hmm, what's this ?

What do we need a camera for ? This isn't fatal frame.

[IMG] It's one of those disposable cameras with a mounted flash.

Oh well, I'm sure it will prove useful somehow. Further down the hall there's another accessible room.

Remember this one from our previous venture in the Hospital ?

Previously we couldn't do anything, but now we have a screwdriver, don't we ?

Damn, these keys turn up in the strangest places. We can't do grab it now though, let's leave. I think it's time we paid a visit to the third floor.

    Whoa

Hey ! Was that the faint figure of a kneeling girl in front of the altar? Damn, it's gone now.

There are two doors to the left and the right both having the same button panels...

Why don't we have a closer look at the altar ?

Let me give you hint. It starts from Sam and ends in ael. And no, it's not Samaritanael. Now, What about those two paintings ?

Hmm, both talk about "light". Doesn't our camera have a "flash" ? Let's take some pictures.

All right ! and the other one ?

That's one strange camera. Now I think the course of action is pretty obvious. We need to enter the same symbols on the corresponding doors :

    [IMG] It's unlocked.

We enter, to find another room snatched from the hospital. I think that in this room it was that we found that red liquid.

There's a book on the cabinet...

White claudia sure seems like the trigger that started this cult, and look where it got us to. This kind of mess right here is what happens if you take drugs. Don't do drugs, kids ! ;)

Anyway, aside from a health drink there isn't anything else here, let's check the other door.

Oh yeah, now we can finally open that bird cage. We should hurry back to the first floor.

At last, we've got the key of Phaleg (=Samael) let's see what awaits beyond these doors...

Hmm, it looks like the hospital's basement facility.

    :RADIO STATIC:

    Damn, more monsters ?

Ah, It's just one of those harmless little black ghos-AARGHHH !!

The little bastard attacked us !

Nothing is harmless in this place. We should look around.

The first door to the right leads to what looks like a kitchen. A kitchen with a really big refrigerator...

Is that a sword stuck between the doors ? Let's have a closer look.
