Doesn't Marle get fucked for healing, lacking a multi target heal, while robo can heal the whole team by himself pretty early anyways? I mean, his magic stat sucks, but half the power is based off level anyways, and there's plenty of magic tabs around. I guess his speed makes him pretty shitty for the role though.

Speed stat is so useful in CT. Makes Lucca a third rate character unfortunately. Plus who ever needs the protect spell? And her default attack sucks. And she's so slow even if she had good dual techs (she doesn't) they wouldn't be worth making the other member wait for her.

Anyways, keep up the good work. Some of my favourite parts coming up.

Marle's single heals are more potent, though. She gets the best healing spell and Revive too, iirc.

And you get enough Speed Tabs and Speed Rings and Speed Belts to buff both Robo, Marle and Lucca up to the same levels than Crono, Frog and the rest.

Yeah but those accessory slots are precious. I hate wasting them for a speed buff. You can put shit like gold studs in there. And you can't exactly spam Lucca's spells without one.

Speed tabs are actually pretty rare until the end game.

All this i9s pretty moot though; the game isn't that difficult. I probably ran around with no real healer at all a lot of the time jsut to spam screen clearing attacks; you can swap members right before the boss.

I thought this "building a two-legged robot is impossible" thing was a mistranslation of "sentient" (like, biped = human = sentient), but I guess not. I really don't want to believe she meant "It's IMPOSSIBLE to make Gato one or two sizes smaller", that sounds obscenely retarded for someone capable of building teleportation machines.

Then again, the retranslation uses "difficult" instead of "impossible", but it's still kind of dumb given the whole "Oh hey, this key to cointrol these time warps we didn't even know about a few hours ago? Japanese people are usually really bad at coming up with european-sounding names and words. I remember, reading Berserk, that there was a fearsome warlord called... NOSFERATU ZODD!

Uuhh, right, Nosferatu Zodd, the fearsome medieval European warrior. Or they just fuck up the r/l thing and name someone Blandon or something.

At the time I played this the first time, I didn't know the cultural origins of Melchior, Ozzie, or the Masamune. They all just sounded convincingly original fantasy like to me. I would imagine it works about the same for japaense kids playing the game and seeing 'Ekusukaribu' instead of Excalibur. Misspelled foreign words are still foreign. Case in point, 'masamune' isn't written the way it would be pronounced in japaense. But 'Massamoonay' looks retarded in english and reminds one of cows, so there's no point in making sure the target audience is pronouncing a foreign word correctly.
