Surprisingly, the amulet I got from Ellesime is actually decent, but still worse than the one I am wearing now.
So, are going to mention the PoE episode at all, or just ignore it and pretend it never happened?
We do not have to ignore it, but we are both grown men, so we can get over it and move on to business as usual.
Yeah, I thought you wouldn't want to remember how you got owned by three xaurips.
Hey, I was walking the Path of The Damned, and by myself too!
Cry me a river! They only got a small stat bonus, I have to deal with getting double damage from every attack! Including my own! And don't even get me started on the 'alone' part!
At least I try to help you in a pinch, instead of rooting for the other side!
Yeah, you help me! Right! When you are tired of seeing me die for the umpteenth time!
I just try to give you breathing room for using your own ideas!
And you always claim you don't need my help anyway.
Maybe that's because you enjoy seeing me suffer!
That is what makes the readers happy!
Fuck the readers!
Now, now. They may be bloodthirsty animals, but they are all we have.
Besides, they were voting on letting you have an ally just recently.
How did that go? What was the result?
Uhm...
I thought so.
I guess we should click on the stone head...
I am imagining this is sang to the tune of 'The Wheels on the bus go round and round'. My son loves that song.
You are sick. And your son too.
Did you get that?
Quite.
The first part is just an intro.
'That which hath past is ne'er truly gone' means facing recycled enemies from my past.
'History repeats though mortals choose not to see' means we will have to reload a lot.
'A God that once hath been may be once again' means my ultimate quest will be to resurrect Eothas Bhaal.
The third part is an interlude without meaning.
And the two last parts mean I will meet someone who will pretend to be my ally, and then try to backstab me. This conflict will cause huge destruction that will end up in resurrecting Bhaal.
And this someone will be connected to Bhaal somehow. Imoen, maybe? Because she is the other bhaalspawn out there?
'The other bhaalspawn'? Did you read the Allaundo's prophecies at all?
Uhm, no? What about them?
Wait, did you hear that?
Yeah, you better prepare.
Ok, I'm prepared.
How did we get telepor- Wait, what did you just say?
I have another sister!
Congratulations on your family reunion...
She wants to kill me!
Are you really surprised?
Well, she's a woman so, no.
What do we have here? A weaboo, a nerd, a dumb brute, and a fanatic. I guess she doesn't have the balls to face me one-on-one.
Eat this, pissguzzlers!
I kind of expected a better result.
Ow, and... ow.
This would be good moment to retreat.
One moment, teleportingfucker-kun.
Come back here, you coward!
The others, the others are here too!
HeresThePartWhenYouAllDie!
I wish that spell lasted a bit longer.
Death Count: 353
Load.
I probably did not prepare well enough.
This should do the trick.
How the fuck did I lose my stoneskin so fast?!
Much better!
Okay...
Death Count: 354
Load game.
Did you see what happened?
You died?
HAR-DEE-FUCKING-HAR-HAR!
Fuck, I am completely exposed here!
I am getting a sense of deja vu...
At least you managed to... retreat with more than eleven hit points.
Good thing I prepared this spell twice.
I hope that is enough.
Here's a little softener for you fucktards.
Alright! Looking good!
Carsomyr says hi!
AHAHAHA!
Ah, shit, there's an arrow in my liver!
Don't panic... Don't panic...
Stop disappearing, you bitch!
Now you know how it works when you use Staff of the Magi...
...Which is something you probably should have done here.
Death Count: 355
Loading.
Well, it was a much better attempt than the first two.
Want to try again?
Yes, but now I will reposition immediately.
Stay still for a moment...
The fucker ran away again, but I feel like I've achieved a small tactical advantage.
Oh, hi there, unprotected casters.
HA!
HAHA!
Your protection spell ran out...
What? When?
So sad.
Death Count: 356
Loading the game.
Shit is serious now.
I've decided to go for the casters immediately, to not waste precious protected-from-magical-weapons time.
It's vanilla BG2 actually. If you start a new TOB game you'll face Illasera alone, but if you continue from SOA the game assumes you have a party with you and adds a few goons to even the odds.
MicoSelva
Poor Codex, you start every fight without any pre-casting (save for a stoneskin maybe) then end up dying several times untill resorting to simulacrum. Having a long-duration summon, like fire-elemental, with you when expecting a fight can't really be considered cheesing, right?

Finally up to date with this LP, I read it basically like a book, some of it every night before sleep :D
And now I'm in the waiting for updates hell, nooooooo !
It is hard to tell how long until next level-up, since the amounts of Experience we get now are pretty ridiculous.
I finally stopped myself from wasting points on Set Traps.
You might actually learn to play this game some day.
I do not think The Codex's saving throws are improving at this point, so we can only influence them by changing our equipment setup.
We should probably get long sword proficiency next, for some sweet Crom Faeyr + Blackrazor combo. Although lack of training in two-weapon fighting could be a show-stopper here.
Our hero can now carry 800 pounds without flinching. I wonder how much he could bench-press.
We wouldn't even find a bench sturdy enough to try that.
I like all those elemental resistances. 200 HP is not too shabby either.
I've literally gone through hell to achieve all this.
Seems like Bodhi will remain the queen of the corpse pile for a while.
Our inventory space problems have become permanent.
Wow, this guy is one stubborn bastard.
I am pretty tired of people implying I'm not powerful enough for something. Have you taken a good look at my stats?
If I created a mental cocoon, I would not include you, but rather a bunch of drow strippers.
Yeah, after all these efforts to kill you, I'm quite eager to return you to life. Except, you know, I'm not.
My 'destiny', huh?
Did you really just call me a fool?
But I would still get the satisfaction of killing you. Somewhat diminished by the fact it would be the THIRD FUCKING TIME.
Without the ambition, you're probably better off dead.
Well, it was worth a shot.
I knew there must have been a reason for dragging Imoen around!
tl;dr: We agreed to resurrect Sarevok with a piece of Codex's bhaalspawn soul.
I have been running around without my soul for so long that I won't even notice missing a piece of it.
He looks healthier already.
I might have sold that sword to someone at some point.... Maybe.
I'm watching.
Why exactly can you do that, and not me?
This is supposed to be my micro-plane, isn't it?
It would be funny if this didn't work.
This is a very poorly explained plot railroading device.
You seem to know a lot for a guy that has been out of the loop for quite some time.
All aboard the plot train!
Good.
tl;dr: We need to face a hellish challenge and then go to Saradush. Conveniently, the portal present here will teleport us exactly there.
That sounds... interesting.
Waaaaaait... I remember something...
He's the one the stone head was talking about!
An oath. Yeah, right.
Like I will believe a word you say.
Here's an oath for you.
'I shall not leave loose ends.'
See? I'm good at keeping these.
And the fucker was poor too. What a waste of time.
After that little distraction, let's see about that challenge.
Looks weird.
Whoa! Spontaneously appearing neckbeards! This is truly hell!
Wait, 'Gavid'? You're thinly-disguised David Gaider!
Local girls? Aren't you gay?
But retribution for what? I have been a perfect boy-scout all... Well, most of the time.
I guess you're not telling me anything else...
Commoners?
Don't tell me you are here to avenge that random guy who died during my previous hell trials.
Apparently, you are.
Sure...
They're trying to zerg-rush my ass!
Well, it's your funeral.
And since I hate wasting time...
FFS, enough of this!
Go away!
There! Are we done finally?
What the-
Fuck!
Burn, pointy-eared bitches!
Stop being alive!
Die, die, die!
There, DONE!
What.
Why the fuck are Aran Linvail, duke Eltan and fucking ELLESIME attacking me!? I'm on their side!
But if they want to die, I will be happy to oblige!
Choke on this, bitch!
That will teach you to tease The Codex!
You're next, Duke Nukem 2D!
On second thought, that might have been not the best choice of ability against someone who is wearing a helmet.
Epic HLA denied by a 1GP equipment piece.
How have you survived this long?
All these summons are annoying as fuck!
Death Count: 360
Loading.
That challenge is slightly more challenging than I anticipated.
I just couldn't wait to slaughter you all, so I came here before you could come to me.
Yes, yes, show me what you got.
Burn in my fire!
What? Feeling at a disadvantage up-close?
Git gud.
Ha! Not a scratch on me!
Who the fuck are you?
Whoever you are, I dislike you.
So, die.
Obedience must be a virtue in their order.
Well, hello there, my 'good friends'.
Oh shit, did he just use whirlwind?
Ouch, yup, he did. Not cool.
This should help a bit.
My turn!
OW! Get those fucking insects off me!
Shit, how do I defend against these!
Have you tried a bug spray? Oh, wait, they have not been invented yet.
I'm not dying to bugs!
You should avoid starring in most modern games though.
No! Fuck off with the summons!
I am sure we will figure this out eventually.
Death Count: 361
Load.
Is there written 'and then you die' in death fog's description somewhere. In small print, maybe?
I suspect the spell's creator hated chaotic evil elven godlings.
Yeah, yeah, I am here to kill you all.
And you too.
MWAHAHAHAHAHA! Slaughter!
You have not used Death Spell this time. Why? You said you hated wasting time.
It's not wasting time if they EXPLODE WITH BLOOD AND GUTS!
Ok.
And the game has become less buggy in an instant!
Not so tough without Arkanis Gath, are you now?
Alright, L-tank, come at me, bro.
Seems like you've forgotten to sharpen your sword!
Why did I even bother to save you back in the day?!
WHOA!
Gaider? Didn't you die?
Who cares as long as I am able to kill everyone who threatens me?
New ability? Cool! What does it do?
You can use it to teleport back here.
But... There's nothing here... Or is there?
Next time: We shall meet one very annoying creature and then run away from home.
Resistance to magic is a % that a spell will not affect you at all (% chance to avoid all damage or being charmed, for example).
Resistance to magic damage is a % reduction of magical (arcane) damage you take - like that from spells such as Magic Missile or Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting.
Creeping Doom (as its lower-level version Insect Plague) can be a horrible pain in the ass for a wizard. It makes it pretty much impossible to cast anything and will rid you of your Stoneskin in very little time. Not sure there's any way of dispelling the spell before its normal end.

That's actually a feature that came with mods. In vanilla only magic resistance and Magic Immunity work against the evil bees. Well that and spell level immunities like Liches have.
