Yeah, playing orks.
With 7 guards.
5 team rerolls.
AV9s
ST4s, 3 with blocks.
I shd concede.
It's pointless to delay the inevitable.
I've taken humans as far as I could go.
It's all up to you, Darth Potato

Be glad he's wasting TV on 5 rerolls and cheerleaders. You can probably just surf his shit anyway.

A tiny bit single minded perhaps :) Awfully solid looking though. A good amount of rerolls, reasonably sized squad etc.

The ork has more than a 100k of TV bloat in the cheerleaders, assistant coaches and 5 rerolls though. Sadly orks are one of those very good and very stable teams. Hard to find an opening to exploit as human I'd imagine.

Those rerolls aren't bloat. Ok, when things go well for a bash style team you often won't need more than a couple a half, but 5 is probably about right overall.

The assistant coaches/cheerleaders I grant you :)

Updated My Journal.
Mini Play-offs update
Bleating 3 Nifty Helmets 0
Nurgle beat down on the Chaos. String of casualties resulted in Chaos finishing the game with just 4 players on the field. Nurgle coach was reportedly employing fouls which went completely undetected by the refs. With so many players down, the Helmets never stood a chance.

Elsewhere a lower TV Chaos Dwarf takes on The Banned
The Banned 3 Power Team Volcano 0
No surprise here, the speed and skills of the Necromantic proved too much for the slower and lesser developed Chaos Dwarf to overcome. Highlights include surfing two Bull Centaurs off the pitch in one frenzy.

I played a khemri and won. It is the expected result, and i don't think i got any level ups or important injuries.

:troll: But Iain, TV1900 Lizards is beatable by any side, regardless of how weak their team are. It's all down to the coach isn't it.?

Playoffs phase 1, first half

BB1384.jpg

BB1385.jpg

boreale.jpg
Greetings bruvas, and welcome to our today's match, broadcasting live from the LITANY OF FUREH, anchored right off the coast of Urmomsburg.

BB1386.jpg

The Skaven win the coin toss and choose to receive.

BB1388.jpg

Khemri set up spread out.

BB1389.jpg

While the rats prepare a rapetrain.

BB1390.jpg

And we're off...

BB1391.jpg

borealehappy.jpg
To a blitz!

BB1393.jpg

BB1394.jpg

Only thing it accomplishes is a knocked down stormvermin and some repositioning, though.

boreale.jpg
Meh.

BB1395.jpg

Ball lands far back.

BB1396.jpg

Headsplitter starts the turn by knocking out the tomb guardian!

BB1399.jpg

Ball is caught. Turn over.

BB1400.jpg

Lino stun.

BB1401.jpg

And a blitz to a push. Dude should have rerolled it, but he didn't, so he didn't.

boreale.jpg
So bold and so foolish.

BB1402.jpg

The blitzing thro-ra is promptly stunned

BB1403.jpg

Headsplitter knocks down another TG.

BB1404.jpg

Ball gets further ahead, turnover.

BB1405.jpg

Stormvermin got up last turn only to get stunned again.

BB1406.jpg

And there's the blitz!

BB1407.jpg

borealehappy.jpg

Turn ends here.

BB1409.jpg

Next turn the blitz-ra is pushed away from the ball,

BB1410.jpg

Which is then picked up by the gutter runner, but not without a reroll...

BB1412.jpg

borealemad.jpg
...after which he fumbles a pass? Is that coach drunk?

BB1413.jpg

Khemri turn, Headsplitter is finally knocked down. But the coach is a FEWL! and doesn't foul him.

BB1415.jpg

Instead he spreads out his tomb guardians and ends turn.

BB1416.jpg

Ko a rat only to get ko'd yourself.

BB1417.jpg

BB1418.jpg

And a skellington is predictably surfed off the pitch in a wake-up blitz.

BB1420.jpg

And then the ball carrier runner moves in...

BB1421.jpg

Right into the loving embrace of a tomb guardian!

borealehappy.jpg

He has to reroll double both down, however

into...

BB1424.jpg

borealehappy.jpg
:yeah:

BB1425.jpg

The crowd is much amused by this turn of events. Coach Jaedar calls the apothecary to change the MNG into badly hurt.

borealemad.jpg
The hell was that, bruva?! :outrage:

20090123105455-apothecary.jpg
I don't discriminate.

boreale.jpg
Blasted reasonable marines.

BB1426.jpg

A hero skellington moves in and grabs the ball. End turn.

BB1429.jpg

Skellington is predictably blitzed.

BB1430.jpg

And stunned while the ball bounces up.

BB1431.jpg

yoink. End turn.

BB1434.jpg

SLAM!

borealemad.jpg
Too many KOs, not enough deaths! :outrage:

BB1435.jpg

And the turn ends with a blitz-ra trying to dodge out of prehensile tail, lol.

BB1436.jpg

BB1437.jpg

Another TG gets surfed. Turnover.

BB1439.jpg

Well well

BB1440.jpg

Lookie here.

-1MA on a skaven lino? Not much, but that's effectively a death. Not much else happening, turnover.

BB1442.jpg

Runner makes it to the endzone, then hesitates for a moment...

BB1443.jpg

boreale.jpg
BOOOOOOOOOORIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING.

BB1444.jpg

One wasted lino, thrower gets back up.

BB1445.jpg

Blitz-ra gets up, TG is still ko'd. Coach proudft is probably not very happy about it.

BB1446.jpg

Two turns left till half-time, Khemri are receiving.

BB1447.jpg

BB1449.jpg

Undercover-elf thro-ra actually catches the ball.

Also, do make sure to note the excellent set ups of both teams. Skaven are all close enough to get murdered, while the Khemri don't even have a single TG next to any rat on the los, despite having the first move.

BB1450.jpg

The necron coach must have heard the yelling coming from the fans because he finally slammed Headsplitter to the ground.

The Skaven are now deprived of their only muscle, but it still managed to do a lot of damage nevertheless.

borealehappy.jpg
:avatard:

BB1452.jpg

Thro-ra runs ahead, end turn.

BB1453.jpg

A blitz!

BB1454.jpg

Alas, Jaedar rolls only pushes against the tomb guardian, despite two blocks.

BB1456.jpg

And the turn ends with the team's very useful stormvermin failing a dodge and dropping to the ground. Again.

The crowd is not very amused.

BB1457.jpg

Rat thrower is stunned.

BB1458.jpg

Lino too.

BB1459.jpg

And the half turns in a spectacular failed short pass by the Khemri.

BB1460.jpg

:avatard:

BB1461.jpg

Tomb Guardian still KO'd.

boreale.jpg
Meh.

Stay tuned for an exciting second turn sometime later.

I had to position close in case there was a blitz and I could get a free TD :M

That pass was a 4+ true(but I expected to have reroll for it) but if it had succeeded the GR on the left would have had completely free passage to score. I'm pretty sure all dese khemri were elves in disguise, i don't think they failed a single ball roll the entire game. Not that it mattered cause they died like elfs too :)

I do have to wonder how anyone stays sane with ag2 ball carriers :)

Try staying sane when you've got a bunch of Zombies who've consistenly shown better ball handling skills than that goddamned, absolutely useless, herpes ridden Ghoul who is supposed to be your main ball carrier. The Rerolls I've burnt on that pile of trash...
:rage:

Anyhoo, since no one is reporting on the Failoff situation (obviously, who cares what's going on there, right?) I might as bring you up to speed. Because Nyah~.

Well, as you can see it's not nearly the glamourous situation drama-wise as the playoffs, with the mild exception of the Codex's favourite F13er, Lamaros, not signing up on time.
hcaiKrW.jpg

So right off the bat the Halflings get the easy draw and get a 2-0 victory by default and moving forward.

Meanwhile a game was actually played between between Chaos & Chaos Dorfs:

Chaos String Theorists barely manage to win their first failoff game despite some serious efforts to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
First half was scoreless with theorists making it almost to the end zone (failing a gfi with rr).
Second half theorists opted not to take the last gfi for a td (since out of rr) but that let the dwarves bring a player in contact with the ball carrier. Luckily the carrier was able to blitz-push the dwarf and score despite this added (read: my mistake in not covering a downed dwarf) excitement on the last turn.

1-0 for Chaos, leaving them to face the winner of Ogres & Dwarves.

As for stabby? Well, I get to face some leftovers from division 1, Drogg's Muscle Daddies (as already seen in this thread's matches.) Definitely hoping to win this one boys, not for Codexian honour or somesuch thing like that, nonono.

I just think that nothing says that you're a loser unless you get eliminated by Halflings in a playoff.
:codexisfor:
(And quite frankly, that's the best motivation I've had all season).

Playoffs phase 1, second half

BB1463.jpg

The second half starts, the Skaven are missing Headsplitter, and the Khemri are receiving once again.

Do once again note the Khemri's excellent positioning, and apparent fear of the Skaven linos on the los.

boreale.jpg
True tacticool genius.

BB1464.jpg

Zing!

BB1466.jpg

Cheering fans grant every team a reroll. Ball lands p. far away.

BB1467.jpg

The Negron begin with a blitz on a lino...

... which makes the tomb guardian end up in exactly the same spot it would have been in if it had been placed on the los, but without a wasted blitz.

borealesad.jpg
... seriously

BB1470.jpg

Undercover elf thro-ra picks up the ball. Turn ends.

BB1471.jpg

A blitz-ra is smacked down.

BB1472.jpg

Then the skaven stun a skellington

BB1474.jpg

And form up around the carrier. Turnover.

BB1475.jpg

The Khemri have to clear out some rats.

BB1476.jpg

And almost succeed except for a cheeky runner.

BB1477.jpg

Skaven lose another player!

BB1478.jpg

While a TG is wrestled down. Turnover

BB1480.jpg

A Blitz-ra is injured in a britz!

borealehappy.jpg
Brittle-boned weakling.

BB1481.jpg

But it regens and nonchalantly walks off the field.

boreale.jpg
Popamole.

BB1482.jpg

The noose tightens around the thro-ra.

BB1484.jpg

WHEN SUDDENLY

That's a MNG guard lino. Not bad

BB1486.jpg

And a KO'd gutter runner!

borealehappy.jpg
This is good sport!

BB1487.jpg

The turn ends and tide may yet turn for the Khemri...!

BB1488.jpg

...nevermind.

borealemad.jpg
FOUL SAUCERY!

BB1489.jpg

The thro-ra carrier is struck down by the Skaven's hired wizard, and badly hurt in the process. However, popamole regen works again, and he can walk off the field nonchalantly as well.

BB1490.jpg

And the rest is obvious

BB1491.jpg

BB1492.jpg

boreale.jpg
Bah.

BB1493.jpg

borealehappy.jpg

BB1494.jpg

The TG ko'd in the first turn finally gets up.

BB1496.jpg

Family of Twitch is now severely undermanned, but with 4 turns left, there's no possibility for the Khemri to draw.

AND HEY, LOOK AT THAT, COACH PROUDFT FINALLY REALISED IT MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA TO BASH DOWN THE LOS WHEN YOU ARE RECEIVING

BB1497.jpg

Kickings!

BB1498.jpg

High kickings, even! Thro-ra fails to catch the ball, first time this match.

BB1499.jpg

What do you know, first moves and the los already gets KO and stun. WHODATHUNKIT.

BB1500.jpg

The undercover elf thro-ra picks up the ball, and the turn ends.

... without a blitz???

lolwut

BB1501.jpg

Skaven respond in kind.

BB1502.jpg

And then the most useless stormvermin in BB history gets KO'd while it tries to doge out.

BB1503.jpg

Khemri advance with the ball.

And succeed on a hand-off! :what:

BB1504.jpg

Blitz-ra carrier moves further down the line, a lino is knocked down.

Turn ends. Once again without a blitz.

borealemad.jpg
FOR THE LOVE OF THE EMPRAH, DUDE, WHERE'S MY BLITZ

BB1505.jpg

Skaven blitz a-coming

BB1506.jpg

Only a push. And turn ends.

BB1507.jpg

Khemri finally perform a blitz.

BB1508.jpg

With the ball carrier. Which effectively ends up as a normal block and third wasted blitz in a row.

borealesad.jpg
what is this i dont even

Turnover

BB1509.jpg

Jaedar attempts a desperate -2d block in one last attempt to stop the Khemri from scoring. But even rerolling doesn't bring the desired result, and the gutter runner bites the astrogranite.

BB1510.jpg

The other runner is then pushed to the sideline

borealehappy.jpg
Time for sum surfin!

BB1511.jpg

...

borealesad.jpg
are you fucking shitting me

BB1512.jpg

BB1513.jpg

Hue.

BB1514.jpg

Hue.

BB1515.jpg

Quick snap lets the rat los gtfo.

BB1516.jpg

Predictable target practice.

BB1517.jpg

Khemri move ahead for no reason.

BB1519.jpg

More target practice, that looks pretty disturbing from this angle.

BB1520.jpg

And that's a game over.
Family of Twitch gets through to quarter finals, while Burrowing Beetles return to their pyramids to masturbate and weep rethink their tactics for the next season.

Commander Boreale's final thoughts:

boreale.jpg
Jaedar didn't play at his top form, and the Khemri could have easily used that to their advantage, but the Khemri coach was too much of a COWARD, and a FEWL to actually play a proper bash game. The way he set up his los at the start of every drive boggled my mind. Of course, the lightning was an unfortunate setback, but the rat players began to get kicked off the field way too late than they should have. Stay vigilant, bruvas.

Stay tuned for more action later, as the Knights of Codexia face off the Camp Town Ork Boyz on an unspecified date, while the Secret Military Union tackles the F13 Bridgeburners on Monday evening.

Bahah. Khemri playing defensively always make me laugh. It's all about keeping together and advance, unfortunately, with the AV7 skeletons and slow cage - Tomb Guardians can't be everywhere.
And really, LOS bash is his best chance at forcing other more valuable players to step up when there's a kick off. So him skipping on those free 2D blocks is probably dumb charity.

I think he wanted to keep his TG's spread out to cover more of the map, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't the correct choice(I can see keeping one or maybe two back but he took it too far). Alternatively he was really afraid of perfect defenses leaving all the rats free?

Khemri coach sucked. No excuse for passing up free 2Ds against the rats. If you want to be able to defend you've gotta crush the rats on your offense.

The passive-aggressiveness and faux-gentlemanly posturing is pretty gross.

Also I'm not entirely sure how not wasting time using ingame chat instead of just playing, or giving congratulations over every single touchdown is considered rude in the first place. If anything, such unnecessary and constant 'good job!' just seems insincere or sarcastic.
