That's Marie, the new Velvet room character. She's is the social link for The Judgement, and from what I have heard about her she's already my favorite Persona 4 character.

Of course they have the same number, they are the exact same card for all practical and symbolical purposes.

The "gooks can't into tarot" comment is because counting them both as different cards is the same as having Black Cat and Sukeban Cho as different party members.

It was a lighthearted comment, though, explaining the reason behind the confusion. If I didn't put a price on their heads for making Hermes weak to wind I am not going to lose sleep over this.

The spoilered example is easier to accept because both are the exact same card yet interpreted from oposite philosophical views.

What a lame game. I fully checked your lp just to be sure how lame it is. I mean, there's too much talk and not enough violence/crazy stuff like regular Megaten games. Besides, the "Shadow's World" deserves more importance. What happens if someone that accepted his/her personality flaws long ago is thrown into the TV? Would that person get super-powers a Persona instantly? Would a psychologist be an overpowered character in this game? What if for some reason he/she cannot accept his/her flaws at all (due severe trauma or mental illness like multiple personality, schizophrenia...)?? Would the Shadow become invencible?
Anyways, keep at it, I would like to see how the ending is compared to the one in Persona 3.

PS: The Devil Social Link seems to be totally trustworthy and more "experienced" than the other Links. Moar!!

This is pure conjecture, but I think this can go several ways....
Going by established logic of the world, if you have mastery of yourself then you'd have no Shadow, and with no Shadow self you'd have no fascade with which you face the world, which means no Persona.
Alternatively, we can surmise that mastery of your personality flaws is the fascade with which you bear live's hardships, which would probably grant you a Persona of the World Arcana. In effect, you'd be a god.

Still, on the off chance such a person did exist, I think the Dalai Lama would like a few words with them.

About the Persona thing, according to what've seen so far, the TV World pick up the undesired traits of the victim, no matter how small these are, then cracks these up to eleven. Therefore, someone with anger management issues would get a Shadow that grossly exaggerates the victim's rage issues. But if said person was aware of these issues and was trying really hard to change, (s)he would be confronted by a much weaker Shadow or have no Shadow at all. But then there wouldn't be a boss battle and we cannot have that... Ah, I almost forgot:

Too bad I wasn't able to find a Persona 4 version.

We get the picture! We can now fuse a persona named Kohryu. I have no idea what his stats or specialisations or history are though. The game describes him as the "Almighty Guardian."

That's a hard one for westerners. Koryu is the japanese name of Huang Long, the yellow dragon of chinese lore. He could be considered the sacred beast of Earth, thus the yellow color, which for the chinese shares the symbolism with the western Aether, hindu Akasha, and japanese Void instead of the usual symbolism of earth (though it holds a bit of that too, chinese elemental symbolism can be weird until you grow familiar with it, especially if you come from the one used in the rest of the universe), and kind of rules over the other four beasts: Qinlong, Zhuque, Baihu, and Xuanwu. In both chinese sorcery and japanese Onmyodo it is usually the center around which everything else turns around (the central ninth in Feng Shui, etc), or at least a representation of it.

What happens if someone that accepted his/her personality flaws long ago is thrown into the TV? Would that person get super-powers a Persona instantly?

As far as I remember the personae do not come out as a result of facing your personality flaws but as a result of not yielding to overpowering presure or horror, so it could be said that while the shadows trigger it they aren't causing it. When you come they are under control of their shadows (which is holding them down), you get them some breathing space and the will to fight, and thus they manifest a persona, which is their own will to live and stuffies. Then, when you max their social link and help them resolve the trauma their shadow used to hold them down, they become Raichu reach the full potential of this stage of development and become a more powerful persona, representing another step or something.

So an individual who had no shadow would either get superpowers innately or the moment she's attacked, as there's nothing holding down their true potential.

However, the shadow is not meant to be just their traumas but their, you know, Jungian Shadow. Taken from wikipedia because I'm too lazy to write an explanation myself...

Shadow is also one of the names witches give to the personification of one's full "shadow archetype", which is kind of amusing because some traditions use those thingies as they use Personae in this game, by becoming "possesed" by it so that you can free your true potential independently of morality, rational thought, or caring for the consequences. I.E: I am great trouble! What to do? PERSONA! SHADOW!

Chaoists call it "nemesis" I believe, and others have other names for it.

Which is one of the ideas behind demon summoning, actually: You are using the archetype of the demon to summon his powers and mindset on yourself (actually "accepting" that part of your shadow to come and become dominant over your waking mind and then receiving the power of the demon by means of some pretty complex rules), or are using your own shadow to call upon the demon (by means of the same pretty complex rules I just mentioned). That's why demons only answer to those who are "like them." If you aren't repressing an aspect of yourself that is similar to, say, Andras, you can neither make Andras possess you nor have a way to make your summon reach Andras' ears.

Which is one of the stuffies people never understand about summoning magic. Say, if you want to summon a demon to kill someone because you are not capable of killing someone yourself then he will not answer, because you are not like him. If you are the kind of person who is like the demon, actually willing to murder in cold blood to advance herself and full of the desires and thirsts the demon itself rules over then the demon will answer and become your weapon. Because you are like him, thus in occult terms "you are one and the same", and that what you desire will be pleasing for him to do.

That's were you are reading it wrong. The shadow being defeated allows them to begin accepting the existence of the shadow, until then they are under the shadow's power. By dispersing the shadow, which maybe would be a much more powerful shadow than usual as it has little opposition, you would actually free her of the mental illness keeping her under the shadow's control, or at least give her enough clarity for her to start facing it herself (thus getting her own fursona and stuffies).

Remember Japanese worldview is different from western one. For the Japanese if you fail at something it is simply because you were not trying hard enough, or you were to weak to conquer it even at your utmost effort. There is little place for excuses such as "I am sick" or "Dad didn't love me" or "I am insane" or shit, though western influence is slowly making them a little more caring about that. So the entire point of Shadows is that no matter how strong they are, they can be defeated. If you don't, you are weak. Become stronger or suffer like the weakling you are.

And nothing in the Shin Megami Tensei multiverse is invincible. They are all immortal, though: Every demon and shadow you kill only disperses, and reforms later on. Even YHVH at the end of SMT2, which is why you later find SMT2's hero being YHVH's bitch on Nocturne.

Though Our Lord becomes a better person, and an actually nice guy, as the reincarnations roll by.

My claim of Teddie being a Shadow is more of an assumption based on everything on the other side being Shadows.
If Teddie has an owner, it's never explored (then again, neither are the the histories and origins of countless Shadows we fight throughout the game).

I'd assume killing the source would remove the Shadow as well, I don't think the dead have any means of conjouring a Shadow and besides, of the Shadows we've encountered, none of them belonged to Mayumi-san or Saki-senpai.
Though I will note that whatever's left of Saki's lingered in the liquor store on the other side.

A quick look at the page for eels implies that eels typically aren't slimy, but it links to a hagfish page... Apparently it may not be an eel...

Hagfish are long and vermiform, and can exude copious quantities of a slime or mucus (from which the typical species Myxine glutinosa was named) of unusual composition. When captured and held, e.g., by the tail, they secrete the microfibrous slime, which expands into a gelatinous and sticky goo when combined with water [...] It has been conjectured that this singular behavior assists them in extricating themselves from the jaws of predatory fish or from the interior of their own "prey", and that the "sliming" might act as a distraction to predators.
