This game uses a wound system of shorts.

The circles represent the HP, the filled circle represent 2 circles. Rance has 10HP and Athena 12. When reaching 0 the character is dead. Game Over is if it’s one of your team.

Stamina is a mix of health and vitality, when reaches 0 character falls unconscious.

Lastly, Stamina acts as mana. If you wait during your turns it fills up and you can use special attacks.

For now we will use normal attacks (we can also summon Feliss a maximum of 10 times during the game).

(At least Rance starts with a pretty good sword)

Attacks usually deal stamina damage, and can occasionally take some HP.

The Uppi focus their fire one Athena, and even take 2 HP from her.

This is bad, since recovering HP is very difficult.

I’m not sure how random the enemy spawns are. Anyway combat isn’t very common in this game.

Hanniwa are pushovers, and the Carpenter is quite weak too...

We win and get some XP. Characters upgrade when getting 100XP. But you don’t really need to worry about leveling, the game is easy enough as it is.


A few steps after beating the enemy encounter, we reach a new area.
