FFS Drakron this is supposed to be a blind voting. I'm pretty sure spekkio will show us the real ending as a bonus update anyway. :M

And how am I supposed to vote now? I've been spoiled! FFS.
:rpgcodex:

I vote Cornelius, alright, but this must stop. Use the spoiler tag. FFS.

Unleash your furry I would say. Are there actually any hints what the right choices are or is it trial & error? From what I could gather from above the right choice is probably fairy vs fire dude and valkyrie vs. dragon. No clue who would fit Gallon, probably Cornelius too. Who is boss number 5?

Any hints? Spekkio's handed it all to us on a platter in the update 2 pages ago...
Really people. :decline:

Read the lore updates. Krois' memos, numbers 1 through 5... It's just about spelled out. I haven't played this game, and even then I'm quite positive I know which hero to pitch against which monster.

Just to please Crooked Bee and anyone else who might be offended, I'll put it in spoiler tags:

Our furry prince Cornelius against The 6-eyed beast (Ingway)
Oswald, Odette's shadow knight against King Gallon
Mercedes, the jail-bait queen elf against King Onyx
DAT ASS Velvet against the Cauldron
and finally Gwendolyn against Leventhan, the baby dragon with the eggshell fragment on his head

After what Gwen is told by the ghost of Griselda, there can't be any doubt as to the match-ups.

If some images do not show up (like for example all in this post), check out this thread

:obviously:

But I've noticed one more thing:

36784340.jpg

:what:

So Ulminati was actually serious?

ft149.gif

But then I performed a [PER] check:

74025580.jpg

:what:

NVM then. Fancy as a feature, but totally useless quality-wise.

:rpgcodex:

Moving back on topic...

:)

I knew I could count on people who don't follow this LP regularly and showed up only to vote (without reading Krois' Memo).
Sons, I'm not disappoint.

:obviously:

But in the end...:
  • Cornelius: 7 votes,
  • Velvet: 5 votes.
So... The first fight is going to be:

vs.

:yeah:

People who were outvoted should not worry - you will have your chances in next four polls.

Indeed, I'm sure the fifth poll will be especially exciting. :P

We'll see... ;)

Armageddon. Chapter 1, Act 1 - Obliterated Ruins

Thanks to his inhuman agility, Cornelius is able to avoid Darkova's fangs:

os5501.jpg

Corn tries to question Hivemind's choice:

29995233.jpg
This is Darkova...

os5502.jpg

The big furry attacks the small furry using his Hyper Claws, but Corn parries:

os5503.jpg

EPSXE%2B2011-02-14%2B14-09-48-10.jpg

And dodges another attack using his l33t rabbit moves:

os5504.jpg

This doesn't look good, though...

os5505.jpg

29995233.jpg
Ingway, is that you!?

os5506.jpg

29995233.jpg
Answer me!

os5507.jpg

:?

29995233.jpg
Who's there!?

A familiar-looking corpse jumps down from Darkova's back:

os5508.jpg

os5509.jpg

:yeah:

29995233.jpg
Is what you said true? Is this really Ingway?

24713934.jpg
Indeed. He used the secret technique in order to stop the Cauldron.

os5510.jpg

:hmmm:

29995233.jpg
Control it...? That's impossible...

os5511.jpg

24713934.jpg
After the incident with King Gallon, your father had us research the spell. Our work was successful.

trollfaces.png

29995233.jpg
My father...?

56695533.jpg

os5512.jpg

Is it the time for another 'confession of an evil guy'? :?

os5513.jpg

24713934.jpg
If you plan to stop me, you will become a victim of my loyal servant.

os5514.jpg

:bro:

Corn tries diplomacy:

29995233.jpg
Ingway, I feel for you...

os5515.jpg

But it's as effective as rat-diplomacy in Fallout:

os5516.jpg

:(

Now you know what time it is...

os5517.jpg

29995233.jpg
I'm not afraid.

Armageddon. Chapter 1, Act 2 - The Beast of Darkova

Corn starts the fight by applying Painkiller + Ice Spirits and equipping Fireproof Charm. He uses Overload:

os5520.jpg

And:

os5521.jpg

He runs out of POW fast. Yeah, I forgot about Unlimited Power...
But Darkova learned some new tricks since the fight against Velvet.
Each of his three heads use different attacks. First one uses fire attacks (ball of lava, homing ring of fire and fire breath), but the 2nd one...

os5522.jpg

Yeah. It can spit a huge ice crystals (barriers) that will freeze you when you touch them and can use a freezing breath as well.
Of course status changes are cumulative and all heads work as a team:

os5523.jpg

So no matter which Charm you use, they will fuck you up sooner than later.
Spirits are useless too - there are so many attacks / projectiles that you will loose all three of them within seconds.

os5524.jpg

:(

Oh, what about the 3rd head? Well, it can create a stone barriers (useful, since you can jump on them which makes reaching Darkova's heads easier):

os5525.jpg

It can also use a breathing attack which inflicts poison...

:salute:

Best way of dealing with Darkova is to concentrate attacks on one of the heads (the ice-related), but it's easier said than done, since Darkova keeps moving about and using different attacks:

os5526.jpg

As I mentioned earlier, the stone pillars can be used to Corn's advantage:

os5527.jpg

Corn can also jump on Darkova's back (he will shake you off fast, though):

os5528.jpg

Oh - don't forget to use Painkiller again when necessary:

os5529.jpg

;)

Corn continues his job:

os5530.jpg

os5531.jpg

os5532.jpg

Darkova is able to poison him:

os5533.jpg

But Corn simply applies Antidote and jumps on Dakrova's back again:

os5534.jpg

os5535.jpg

27494505.jpg

Darkova looses one of his heads finally (the flaming one):

os5536.jpg

os5537.jpg

os5538.jpg

:salute:

Corn gets poisoned and frozen again:

os5539.jpg

But moments later he takes the freezing head down for good:

os5540.jpg

os5541.jpg

The remaining head keeps struggling (I should've changed the Charm but whatever):

os5542.jpg

But eventually:

os5543.jpg

os5544.jpg

54377447.jpg
:yeah:

(No video this time because YewTubers were fucking cunts).

Armageddon. Chapter 1, Act 3 - Obliterated Ruins

Cornelius isn't in best shape after the fight:

os5547.jpg

:?

Velvet shows up. But the two of them are not alone:

os5548.jpg

47222639.jpg
He's quite stubborn...

os5549.jpg

47222639.jpg
It's karma, Velvet... Don't you feel it? Even now, the Cauldron is absorbing Phozons from the world. I couldn't destroy it...

os5550.jpg

47222639.jpg
Do you remember the note...?

79024266.jpg
Mother's note...?

os5551.jpg

47222639.jpg
She wrote the note for us... Perhaps she tried to tell us how to overcome the dangers... 'The Cauldron guides the way with the final stone.'

os5552.jpg

47222639.jpg
That might save us all...

So he turned out to be useful in the end... :/

os5553.jpg

Cornelius comes to his senses:

os5554.jpg

47222639.jpg
Don't concern yourself with me, Cornelius... You're near death, too...

os5555.jpg

79024266.jpg
Aah... Ingway...

47222639.jpg
Don't worry about me...

os5556.jpg

19364486.jpg

os5557.jpg

47222639.jpg
Now, go...

Velvet picks up her furry lover:

os5558.jpg

os5559.jpg

Hesitates for a moment:

os5560.jpg

But in the end:

os5561.jpg

:salute:

Ingway is finally alone:

os5562.jpg

47222639.jpg
This is it...

os5563.jpg

47222639.jpg
I hope she is safe...

os5564.jpg

But this wish won't be granted:

os5565.jpg

34gpy0h.jpg

:salute:
47222639.jpg
:salute:

35201590.jpg

Chapter One ends!

15pfrrs.jpg

os5566.jpg

What's next? Well...

os5567.jpg

:smug:

os5568.jpg

You know the drill niggaz'...

Decided to skip the memos as even a hint book couldn't be more obvious. I would reckon Oswald for this fight. He's the only one with a more sensitive connection to the dead.

Emo knight will face the horrors of death

What happens if you choose poorly? Death through cutscene or do you get to try and fight the boss?

You fight the boss then die through cutscene AFAIR (the enemy is down but the hero(ine) dies from his/her grave wounds.) :)

You get to fight the boss. A lot of the bosses are easier to fight with ther 'wrong' setup, in fact.

Anyways, I'd have wanted Corn to fight Gallon, but thats not an option now. Bleh.

Knowing mawkish nature of jap games in general, I bet here's the hint.

Ergo, Mercedes.

No, Oswald is the "optimal" choice for the next boss.

ok point taken. It kinda makes sense that a shadow knight must face the king of netherworld.

Flip-floping to Oswald.

Ergo, Mercedes.

Nay, its just he loved Mercedes ... in fact picking Mercedes in this fight shows they did loved each other and she gives her true name to him as she dies.

Oswald is up next.

Looks like even death isn't enough to stop the three wise old dudes from plotting stuff !

Let's send in Oswald and hope that marital life hasn't softened him too much.

Oswald. I want to see if his emoness is stronger than Death.
