Son of a FUCK. I was two thirds of the way through writing the update and my browser crashed. Fucking hell. It was taking forever too, for some reason this time it was lagging heavily when I typed.

A single bro-tip then:
I always type up my updates in a simple note-editor, once everything is nice and orderly, I then copy-paste the whole shebang. :bro:

I didn't originally use anything other than the reply window, but when BG2 updates were getting ~2000 words...then I figured it was high time. I also wouldn't even imagine trying to wrangle with the WYSIWYG posting nowadays, but that's more because of my obstinacy in using outdated browsers.

I actually find the editor useful though, since it lets me see the screenshots while I'm writing shit up. If I could find some other tool that would let me paste an assload of linked pictures at once into and then start typing commentary between them, I'd gladly use that.

Eh, I made half the update using the program linked above about a week ago and just haven't felt like finishing it since then for some reason. I can't imagine just stopping here though, after putting this much time in already, not just for this update but for the thing in general.

Hey, DR, if you don't want to post next update because something bad happens to procrastinator, then don't worry. I'll take it like a man.

Update time!

This time we'll just skip by the boring opening portion of battle completely.
BriJ0002.jpg

Bam! Poor Camden. What asshole told him to stand on the front lines?
BriJ0003.jpg

Seems the enemy is following my example and moving it's own glass cannon to the front.
BriJ0004.jpg

Even though that is completely unecessary to attack Dryst. Who dodges arrows like the troll he is. :smug:
BriJ0005.jpg

Procrastinator risks everything by enduring the initial attack of the sexy demon. Is it a trap?
BriJ0006.jpg

Apprently not, because attempted tentacle rape follows.
BriJ0007.jpg

Lightbane makes an attack on their weakest unit. The hit and away ability makes this essentially a free attack for us.
BriJ0008.jpg

Zemeckis enters the fray next.
BriJ0009.jpg

Again with the futile targetting of our dear leader.
BriJ0010.jpg

Thats actually almost respectable damage, but it would have been far more severe against various other targets (like Camden.)
BriJ0011.jpg

They go after Lightbane too. Of course, given Lightbane's level advantage, he comes out pretty much on top even with his previous minor injury from the fishman.
BriJ0012.jpg

Well, now we've mostly finished forming the giant clusterfuck of units.
BriJ0013.jpg

Giant lizard vs giant chicken.
BriJ0014.jpg

I think I mentioned this before but this works out to our advantage, since the Gryphon is an anti ground unit, while the wyvern is anti air.
BriJ0015.jpg

Calling in tranny reinforcement.
BriJ0016.jpg

SMA was in a rather awkward position so we have to use venom instead of Curse. Still going to be fairly effective; griffons are white aligned and have low int.
BriJ0017.jpg

Now to deal some real damage. We'll throw Power on Azira.
BriJ0018.jpg

Nice, free level.
BriJ0020.jpg

Time to show this bitch who's boss.
BriJ0021.jpg

Err, :retarded:
BriJ0022.jpg

Fuck man. Way to drop the ball.
BriJ0023.jpg

Camden will show us how to get shit done.
BriJ0024.jpg

He's got a funny hat so this totally isn't a sin.
BriJ0025.jpg

Death to the jews!
BriJ0026.jpg

Having him on the front lines like that means this spell reaches nearly the entire enemy army.
BriJ0027.jpg

The total damage results in a huge xp reward even with no killshots, so he gets a level up.
BriJ0028.jpg

Reinitiating tentacle rape.
BriJ0029.jpg

Great success! The demon shall quiver there helplessly until we finish it off.
BriJ0030.jpg

Comte makes an attempt but can't quite get the job done. But having free kills like this set up is nice for leveling weaker units up.
BriJ0031.jpg

I had original moved our dragon here to breathe down the enemy line but then fucked up and put a knight in the way decided it would be more interesting for everyone to fight without that overpowered tactic.
BriJ0032.jpg

So instead our dragon flosses his teeth on this unlucky cunt.
BriJ0033.jpg

Heh, she even misses the counter attack. Another nice fat chunk of xp set up for us to pick off.
BriJ0034.jpg

The Bahamut isn't going to level up any time soon from attacks like this though.
BriJ0035.jpg

More hopeless potshots.
BriJ0036.jpg

Miguel doing his job. The cavalier line is kind of boring but very reliable between their solid defenses and ability to heal.
BriJ0037.jpg

We've brought ponies along to do the healing for now though.
BriJ0038.jpg

They take forever to level up unless you get a chance to feed them a kill somehow. In retrospect I should have sent Korgan up to finish off the paralyzed demon.
BriJ0039.jpg

Kaiserin is in a better position than SMA, however...
BriJ0040.jpg

I don't want to waste a Curse on this weakened bird. And the juicier targets aren't in range. Instead we set up another easy kill.
BriJ0041.jpg

Lightbane seems like a good candidate to take the shot.
BriJ0042.jpg

I think the hellhounds have the best looking breathweapon by far. Aside from the flame itself, their posture is pretty badass.
BriJ0043.jpg

Not exactly a devastating attack, but damned good for his cheap cost.
BriJ0044.jpg

And it's more than enough to secure the kill.
BriJ0046.jpg

And net him a level.
BriJ0047.jpg

Or two even. Nice bonuses on the second.
BriJ0048.jpg

Zemeckis' turn again. Why the fuck is this guy supposed to be so scary again?
BriJ0049.jpg

Oh, right. The lightning shit. I totally didn't forget about that.
BriJ0050.jpg

I lined up these 5 important and/or vulnerable units as a stratgic bait. Yes. Definitely.
BriJ0051.jpg

At least Azira and Dryst can mostly shrug it off between their hp pool and bit of red resistance.
BriJ0052.jpg

This shit, OTOH, not going to be terrible easy to shrug off.
BriJ0053.jpg

Especially not by this poor fucker.
BriJ0054.jpg

Ow.
BriJ0055.jpg

Well, at least he put up a bit of a fight.
BriJ0056.jpg

Enemy also has their hellhound ready to breathe fiery doom onto...
BriJ0057.jpg

2 unimportant cannon fodder units that resist the element? Ok...
BriJ0058.jpg

Not sure why I even took a screenshot of something this irrelevant.
BriJ0059.jpg

They both take hardly any damage.
BriJ0060.jpg

This, on the other hand, seems kind of important. In a bad way.
BriJ0061.jpg

Dryst starting to get whittled down as well, though he still has a decent buffer.
BriJ0062.jpg

Hmmm, this could be bad.
BriJ0063.jpg

Or catastrophic.
BriJ0064.jpg

Yes, you are. I have no idea how you managed to be defeated while under our glorious and peerless leadership. Begone!
BriJ0065.jpg

Well shit, now we have to actually keep fighting to avoid losing him. Though he is just a ghoul...
BriJ0066.jpg

This would be kind of nasty except...
BriJ0067.jpg

The only target in range is a fucking huge badass dragon.
BriJ0068.jpg

Maybe if you had another 10 turns and triple your mp I'd be mildly concerned.
BriJ0069.jpg

Protect gets thrown up on the enemy leader. We weren't really planning on focusing him down anyways though.
BriJ0070.jpg

There are much softer targets to be had.
BriJ0071.jpg

Demons actually hit fairly hard in melee, considering their hefty spell potential. Well, they are insanely expensive after all.
BriJ0072.jpg

Even a critical counter attack leaves the Centaur much worse off.
BriJ0073.jpg

Ah, the joys of having giant lizards at one's disposal.
BriJ0074.jpg

Lots of crits lately.
BriJ0075.jpg

Centaur can't get a break today.
BriJ0076.jpg

We send in anus pounder to finish hitting this ass and leg.
BriJ0077.jpg

Another solid level up. +2 STR is nothing to sneeze at by any means.
BriJ0078.jpg

Azira gets a chance to redeem himself with a crushing deathblow-
BriJ0079.jpg

and fails miserably again.
BriJ0080.jpg

And then gets critically countered.
BriJ0081.jpg

At least he makes a decent damage sponge.
BriJ0082.jpg

We'll patch him back up. I'm not terribly eager to try and level up another giant to level 9.
BriJ0083.jpg

Andyman working on his promotion slowly but surely.
BriJ0084.jpg

Next we send in golem bro.
BriJ0085.jpg

Hydras have an evasion penalty on the ground, which makes golems a fairly decent counter.
BriJ0086.jpg

He doesn't come out ahead in relative terms, but golems cost half of what hydras do anyways, and level up a lot faster. In terms of xp needed anyways.
BriJ0087.jpg

Realistically the hydra will level faster by breathing shit to death and being able to engage in more fights with it's higher hp pool and heavier damage.
BriJ0088.jpg

Woo! Another level. This is proving to be a fruitful battle.
BriJ0089.jpg

Time for Dryst to return the favour to this annoying bitch.
BriJ0090.jpg

Arrows are for chumps.
BriJ0091.jpg

Nothing says 'fuck you' like fiery death.
BriJ0092.jpg

Getting close to the point where we can finish her off for a fat xp bonus. Pity Azira never landed those hits.
BriJ0093.jpg

Procrastinator picks up the demon.
BriJ0094.jpg

A nice chunk of xp for such a defenseively oriented unit.
BriJ0095.jpg

Enough for a level up.
BriJ0096.jpg

Camden's turn again. I suppose it would be prudent for him to heal himself, or maybe another unit, rather than-
BriJ0097.jpg

BURN THE JEWS! AGAIN!
BriJ0098.jpg

Fuck you and your fake tits you deceptive bitch!
BriJ0100.jpg

Mel Gibson Camden gets another fat chunk of xp for his efforts.
BriJ0101.jpg

And Hellraiser gets to pick off a tempting target for some free xp.
BriJ0102.jpg

See? Thats how you use a fucking bow.
BriJ0103.jpg

BriJ0104.jpg

Nice, more xp than Camden even got.
BriJ0105.jpg

Obvious result of said xp.
BriJ0106.jpg

Gnid takes a potshot too, but there aren't any super weak targets in range any more.
BriJ0107.jpg

Thats ok though, we moved our dragon over here last turn where nothing is in the way of our breath attack.
BriJ0108.jpg

Oh, except these two partially leveled units that are both moderately expensive and require a decent amount of xp to level up. I guess we'll settle for a melee attack instead right?
BriJ0109.jpg

Err, right?
BriJ0110.jpg

WTF man. Why did I do this.
BriJ0111.jpg

Damn we kicked this shit out of those enemies.
BriJ0112.jpg

And ourselves.
BriJ0113.jpg

I'm sure I won't regret this at all.
BriJ0115.jpg

That xp makes it seem almost worth it though.
BriJ0116.jpg

Thats a nice fucking level up.
BriJ0117.jpg

Time for Comte to reveal his worth s a promoted level 10 unit.
BriJ0118.jpg

Fuck yeah, a crit!
BriJ0119.jpg

Well.... he can beat a centaur at least?
BriJ0120.jpg

At least he's dirt cheap and levels up quickly.
BriJ0121.jpg

--This is where I pick the update back up. I haven't played what happened in these screenshots in months so I got barely a fucknig clue what is going on.--
BriJ0122.jpg

I think we're winning though? Comte regening up.
BriJ0124.jpg

This seems bad.
BriJ0125.jpg

Yeah this is fucking bad.
BriJ0126.jpg

I wish Dryst's critical hits looked that badass.
BriJ0128.jpg

:salute: Fairwell almost-couatl.
BriJ0129.jpg

Also apparently the golem dies too. Shit.
BriJ0130.jpg

And Dryst takes insignificant damage again.
BriJ0132.jpg

Comte tries to get these motherfucking snakes off this motherfucking plain.
BriJ0133.jpg

But he is a wee bit outmatched.
BriJ0135.jpg

And who the fuck is this guy attacking?
BriJ0136.jpg

Oh. Well sucks to be him.
BriJ0137.jpg

More than a slight disadvantage here. Actually I'm surprised he attacked, would have expected the enemy to be in retreat mode by now. I guess they figure it's still 2v2 so it's all good.
BriJ0139.jpg

Monster wise we seem to outnumber them about 2 to 1 though.
BriJ0140.jpg

Oh sure, pick on the old guy, just because he's being super agressive and casting spells on the front line.
BriJ0142.jpg

Fucking jerk lizard.
BriJ0143.jpg

Oh yeah that'll turn the tide. What can we do now, one of their 5 units is kinda harder to kill.
BriJ0144.jpg

All we can do is restore half of this guy's missing hp.
BriJ0145.jpg

Also the fire magic. We can do that too.
BriJ0146.jpg

After the cooking is finished, the meat is sent to the rat people living in the mountains.
BriJ0147.jpg

Out of MP now though.
BriJ0148.jpg

Can Azira finally hit something?
BriJ0149.jpg

:excellent:
BriJ0150.jpg

Wait, the fucker lived? :what:
BriJ0151.jpg

Mission accomplished though.
BriJ0152.jpg

Enemy leader also out of magic points.
BriJ0153.jpg

Commence annoying long ranged attack.
BriJ0154.jpg

Great success!
BriJ0155.jpg

A lizardman was never more aptly named.
BriJ0156.jpg

Quite the profitable day.
BriJ0157.jpg

Yessssss. Moar STR.
BriJ0158.jpg

Comte vs Pony. Round one. FIGHT.
BriJ0159.jpg

Comte opens by cuddling with the pony. It seems very disturbed.
BriJ0161.jpg

Note that it actually dealt more than 38 damage, but the game factors in the lifesteal ability of the ghoul and does the math for us.
BriJ0162.jpg

More triflingly small xp rewards.
BriJ0163.jpg

Alright, enough of that shit.
BriJ0164.jpg

BriJ0165.jpg

No kills judging by that small xp amount.
BriJ0166.jpg

Ah, here they are.
BriJ0167.jpg

BAM.
BriJ0168.jpg

Plantman would do fuck all damage with an attack vs protected Esclados so we'll just have him wait here I guess.
BriJ0169.jpg

Camden gets off of death's doorstep.
BriJ0170.jpg

Pointlessly small attacks for 100$, Alex.
BriJ0171.jpg

Tick-
BriJ0172.jpg

-tock.
BriJ0175.jpg

:yeah:
BriJ0177.jpg

Parting potshots.
BriJ0178.jpg

Ghouls are pretty survivable for their cost.
BriJ0179.jpg

And the easy level ups are nice.
BriJ0180.jpg

:kfc:
BriJ0181.jpg

:drink:
BriJ0182.jpg

Free level gains all around!
BriJ0183.jpg

Congrats to horseman!
BriJ0184.jpg

Now both faithful readers are level 10.
BriJ0185.jpg

Also, level 10 centaurs kick ass.
BriJ0186.jpg

Like, seriously, you're gonna see how rape these are the next time they fight.
BriJ0187.jpg

And yet another ghoul almost level 10. Wait, he got abandoned, and still gets victory xp? What a bro for sticking around and making our victory that much better.

BriJ0188.jpg

Oh fuck, I have to dig out the quest dialogues. Where the fuck did I save that shit?---

Daffy steps into the cave carefully.

Inside, it was deeper than expected, and there are marks that reveal that someone has been here. Having walked for a while, something wet fell on top of Daffy... Daffy quietly looked around, but found nothing. As the torch lit the area, Daffy could see that the ceiling was damped... However, as Daffy was staring, a pitfall opened up underneath! It's a trap! Daffy barely survived. However, it will take a month to heal...

... fucking Daffy.
BriJ0189.jpg

Teath met a traveling merchant in the course of the voyage.

They were able to get along through conversation, and decided to travel together part of the way.

Merchant: It's sad to leave you, but we have to part here. I'll give this to you.

The merchant handed the Fire Amulet to Teath.

Merchant: I had just acquired it. But I like you, and you may need it. Well then, take care.

Teath parted from the merchant after exchanging a handshake.
Teath obtained Fire Amulet.

Now that's more like it.
BriJ0190.jpg

Alright, time for some management stuff.
BriJ0191.jpg

Daffy is fucked up and arrives at the castle our almighty leader is at. He's got no troops with him. Must be a quest whore.
BriJ0192.jpg

Teath, OTOH, has a fucking Tiamat with him. Not sure if he was sent to Deliver it or pick up troops. Probably deliver since his rune power is shit.
BriJ0193.jpg

Fucking upgrades time!
BriJ0194.jpg

Azira has been augmented. :neveraskedforthis:
BriJ0195.jpg

Hmm, good thing those other guys died or we wouldn't have room for these upgrades.
BriJ0196.jpg

Now tentacle raping men is an option too, I guess.
BriJ0197.jpg

Fuck yeah.
BriJ0198.jpg

Camden not quite 20 yet, alas. Thats a badass team though.
BriJ0199.jpg

Some of our troops waiting with wounded knights.
BriJ0200.jpg

Cleve is ready for action though.
BriJ0201.jpg

Mexican standoff?
BriJ0202.jpg

Oh fuck thats way over in the west. Look at all that glorious yellow land.
Although, maybe Leonia is busy up north.
BriJ0203.jpg

I think we have to temporarily abandon some shit, not enough knights to defend against so many countries on so many places.
BriJ0204.jpg

Only 2 knights down here.
BriJ0205.jpg

Nope, we let them take Asten.
BriJ0206.jpg

And another turn goes by. Guess I'm waiting to heal guys up or something.
BriJ0207.jpg

Asten now actually garrisonned.
BriJ0208.jpg

Team mobile fuckers is ready to go kick some ass.
BriJ0209.jpg

Not sure if this was what I wanted.
BriJ0210.jpg

Probably not.
BriJ0211.jpg

Fight?
BriJ0212.jpg

Nope, was just occupied by a wounded guy.
BriJ0213.jpg

I keep wanting New Almekia to invade here. Maybe they won't though, as part of the peace treaty they won't take a caerleon territory even after it gets taken by someone else, unless Caerleon is wiped out?
BriJ0214.jpg

Losing territory all over the place. We got mana reserves to last a long while though.
BriJ0215.jpg

While on a journey, Lucia became lost in the a forest. Time passes by as darkness starts to embrace the area. While wandering around in the forest, a voice comes out from nowhere...

Hyude.jpg
Excuse me.

Lucia2.jpg
!!!

Hyude.jpg
What on earth are you doing in the forest on a night like this?

Lucia explains what has happened.

Hyude.jpg
Ha, ha, ha... So you're lost in the forest?! I'm sorry. And you want to know the way out of the forest... Well, too bad... I can't tell you. Why? I'll tell you why. I am lost myself. That's why. Ha,ha,ha......

Lucia2.jpg
Huh?

Hyude.jpg
My name is Hyude. I'm an adventurer. There is nothing we can do right now. I guess we'll have to spend the night here.

They sat down by the fire and told each other about themselves. As they talked, it became clear that Hyude had the ability to be a Knight. Lucia suggested to Hyude that he should become a Knight.

Hyude.jpg
I don't know how I could be of any help. I only know about adventure.

Lucia2.jpg
Don't worry!

Lucia encourages Hyude to at least meet with Lucia's lord...

Hyude.jpg
Well... You've convinced me. I'll met with your lord.

The next morning, Lucia found the way out of the forest with help from Hyude and headed for home.

Lucia2.jpg
I brought a freelance Knight.

Hyude.jpg
My name is Hyude, the adventurer. I don't like to stay in one place for a long time. I never had a chance to become a Knight before. But from now on, I'll work hard to be of use to you. I'm on my way out to investigate the situation of other countries.

Hyude left on a journey.

Dryst: .........

(It looks like) Hyude has joined.
BriJ0216.jpg

Lucia is back! With a boyfriend I guess?
BriJ0217.jpg

And Cortina is ready for action.
BriJ0218.jpg

Thats all for now though...
BriJ0001.jpg

Next time we'll get this map fixed up.

Grand edition was never translated. Actually I think there is a partial translation out there, but it's buggy or something anyways.

Which is a shame, because that version had fucking multiplayer. I'd have killed for a chance to play this with some friends.

Indeed, what emulator are you using by the way? The latest version of epsxe doesn't seem to work, it hangs when I try to start a new game :(

pcsx I think? I wiped my computer since last time I played (the saves are still around) so none of them are configured. But thats the newest one I have installed based on which folder it's in, so it was probably one I grabbed to get brigandine to work.

If you mean black screen that comes after nation selection, then I had this problem too. Fixed by changing video plugin to Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.77.
