Shame it doesn't have the rattling pace of the first one, but eh, never expected it to keep up with that.

Yeah, in case that came across needlessly passive-aggressive, keep up the good work y'all. :salute:

Current standings in 2125: JoKa is now dominating with Cassidy close behind, and AI Morgan is still doing surprisingly well. JoKa also managed to research Secrets of the Human Brain before anyone else, giving him a nice early boost. Oscar is doing well and is ahead of Hellraiser, The Brazilian Slaughter and myself. Yours truly is the biggest loser, having finished ONE tech. On the plus side, it is both ethically sound and sanctioned. Heathen powergraphs also fail to account for divine approval.

Reactionary and socially backwards capitalist ratings are nonsense. True wisdom lies in the Chairman and his vision of humanity's future.

JoKa probably landed on top of Monsoon Jungle, Spartans don't grow that fast and I personally have been blessed with many nutrients.

Interesting theory there, my dear colleague, but i can assure you that i got no jungle nutrients or even a monolith - the SotHB coup was really fortunate though (and a bloody big gamble to try that as Spartans) and is inflating the rating.
I can't wait for anyone making contact with another faction...

That would likely depend on the battle results. :)

In other news: prayerful studies reveal that if one draws a straight line from New Jerusalem to the Rapture, and another straight line from Great Cathedral to the Sword of Truth, these two lines form an unmistakable HOLY CROSS with the peak of Mount Zion at its very centre! As everyone who has kept up-to-date with recent study editions of the Holy Flame should know, the peak is the predestined location of the future Millennial Temple.

Picture evidence will be provided once oppranaishunal sekhurity allows it!

Life had marched on in the Gaian colonies. A growing population and increased strain on local food resources had forced the more daring Gaians to split off from the burgeoning towns that while still primitive and tiny in regards to the unimaginably vast megacities of Earth were beginning to see sophisticated laboratories, education facilities, highly efficient recycling plants and even advanced leisure facilities (where Gaians where free to engage in delights both cerebral and sensual).

Two new developments had bought great excitement to both Deidre and the Gaian peoples however:

Firstly, encounters between Gaia's long range scouts (the sole sector of Gaian society permitted the left-over firearms of the Unity and euphemistically nicknamed the 'Long Hikers') and a bizarre native lifeform. These "worms" annihilated all of an 100 strong expedition leaving only two survivors (who it seems had been arrived late to the fighting due to being "otherwise engaged"). One, the expedition's Armiger Harold Granger, had reported the "worms" as large seemingly intelligent parasites before killing himself while the other, Rebecca Delacruz, was quickly reduced to mental incoherency but managed to confirm this account after the application of heavy sedatives. The panic of this news had been unparalleled to any other event since the destruction of the Unity yet a second attack of the creatures had ended far differently, with the worms suddenly becoming pacified and docile upon the arrival of the pre-eminent Old Earth ecologist Sofia Olofsson. Deidre eagerly awaited the results of further study on these strange creatures.

Secondly, a vast jungle to the south had been discovered that promised to permanently end any food shortages the Gaians might ever face. Scouts had returned with a plethora of edible (and indeed, Deidre noted with a smale, delicious) fruits, seeds, plants and native wildlife. The benefits to agricultural variety, sustainable industry and ecological understanding of Planet that could be gained from the jungles was immense and a larger expedition of scientists, full-time farmers and armed (while the worms had proven tameable Deidre refused to take any chances) Hikers.

Old problems and new challenges

The Chairman sat at his graphene desk. A faint shade of blue illuminated his face. His tired eyes were skimming over the hundreds of reports displayed on his terminal's screen. Mineral production was rising. Manufacturing of new facilities was ahead of schedule. Foot scouts and Hive Outrider rover teams acquired new technological data. New births in the colonies, new deaths, new triumphs, old problems, new challenges. The report list was full of everything of priorities both high and low.

But amongst all those reports one stood out, one which came from one of the foot scouts. Attached to it was an audio file, of poor quality. Partially corrupted and full of artefacts. It contained one simple sentence. If you can hear this message, you are not alone. An order has been sent. Contact the other survivors, learn, inquire, evaluate. Report back.

Hours turned to days, but in the end there was a response. We are the Hive, the chairman thought. "Who are the Peacekeepers?" He said to himself. "What do they stand for?"

Those were the questions the Chairman would ask himself often, as they influenced the road to progress still ahead of him.

Call of the Wild

It was dawn, the crew of the only Hive sea vessel just sent a report. The Chairman glanced at it while sipping his morning green tea, as the aroma slowly filled his office.

"Unbelievable." The Chairman said. Yet he knew the report was true, mindworms. But not just any mindworms, ones tamed and controlled by men. The Gaians they called themselves. Lead by the former glorified gardener of Unity, they posses some intriguing insight into the native life. And they're just across the sea, on Landmass Two. Peacekeepers and Gaians. Who would would appear at the card table next? Old colleague Zakharov? Unruly former subordinate Santiago? That insane fanatic Miriam? The Chairman did not knew. But the next four decades would certainly not be the same as the first four were. Not with friends or foes on both Landmass Prime and Landmass Two.

"The future may be more bizarre than ever thought. But the Hive will endure". He said before taking another sip from his cup of tea.

Mini-update: It's now 2147 A.D. and most sides have likely established contact with one or several factions. The Believers remain in their (not so) glorious isolation and recent events revolve solely around purged devil-worms, holy terraforming projects and an infuriating trek of madness throughout the xenofungus fields. My colony pod and escorting scout infantry have been trying to cross a single fungus square for three years now and counting.

God willing, zealous terraformers will soon purify everything even remotely fungus-like with their Holy Fungicide of Heavenly Might! :argh:

(Also, coming on a Good Thursday really soon™ the Doctrine: Flexibility tech will be complete and Holy Hydrofoils will roam the seas!)

So it's actually just a crappy Gun Foil, but given how this game is going, I take any achievement I can get my hands on!

The holy Mal'akh hydrofoil reclaims neo-shekels for the holy temple project!

Intensive prayerful meditation indicates that the Spartan Federation maintains its lead, with the University close behind.

False Israel, a.k.a. Omniventures Inc and Morgan Industries, is also doing disturbingly well. Free market magjifiks or socialist AI handouts? Time will tell!
