About a minute into the mission, contact was lost with most of the platoon. One rifleman has seen multiple monsters moving towards the landing site from the west. Another was returning from Skyranger with auto-cannon ammo when the rest of the soldiers were killed.

He tried to destroy them with a thermobaric rocket but missed and hit ground near the Skyranger (the game really could use some kind of mechanics for X-Com craft damage and its consequences).

On a more positive note, losses of high-ranking officers has decreased drastically since crew rotation was introduced.

Interceptors were scrambled to intercept it but contact with the UFO was lost. It was regained 5 hours later. The UFO was damaged and forced to crash-land.

First casualty. One soldier was killed and two injured due to missed rocket shot. The explosion killed a Sectoid that was lurking in the smoke. Lifes of the two injured soldiers were probably saved by the armour.

Ok, so I was trying to determine what the hell has happened to alien grenades. I realised that limiting them to alien leaders resulted in lack of opportunities to throw them because they tended to get cooked in UFO or die early on Terror Sites.

So, I gave Soldiers alien grenades for Terror Sites.

Another battle. Turn 3. There seems to be some problem with the AI that makes it prioritize killing civilians over not killing its own units. The whole place is littered with suicided Cyberdisks.
