Warhorse Studios' Daniel Vavra, who has been in the news recently, has published a new Kingdom Come: Deliverance progress report video for the game's latest Kickstarter update. The main takeaway from the video is that the game's alpha is scheduled to be released to eligible backers on October 22nd. The alpha will consist of a slice of gameplay taking place in a small village, with no combat but some minor quests. Near the end of the video there's a new trailer, depicting the idyllic peasant life in what I assume is that same village.

The video also contains an amusing little combat demonstration, a detailed look at Warhorse's motion capture and 3D facial scanning processes, some information about their reconstruction of authentic medieval murals, and other fun stuff. So check it out.

I'm sure they're perfectly talented guys and all that, but they all look like those people that I try my best to avoid when drinking in metal bars.

Other than that, I'm getting good Gothic vibes from it all so I hope this one will prove a sleeper hit on release.

I was willing, able, and ready to give Vavra my monies for his First Person fuckfest due to his stance on #gamergate but then I made the mistake of reading his twitter feed uncovering lolbertarian sympathies. Pass.

Even when it comes to buying games your liking is based on developer's political views? Brave new world indeed...

Vavra actually lived through communism in a communist country, which is bound to provide deeper perspective on the perils of Statism than living in mom's basement, so just dry your eyes on your Che t-shirt and quit being offended at people for surviving the reality of such failed utopian schemes.

The games he has made aren't very good and this one doesn't look good, either. When he was attacked by SJW fascists I was willing to gift him money in support and it was only by chance I saw LoLbertarian buffoonery gracing his twitter feed. So if I was only going to support him for his political beliefs then it's only fair I can pull the plug based on political beliefs.

This line of thinking is associated with lower IQ conservative types who fail to understand history or cause and effect. The need to reduce complex phenomena into digestible talking points is a bug, not a feature of your belief set. Consider revising.

Anyway, as to my personal proclivities I despise the "state," but I would never use the mischaracterizations of LoLbertarian disputation for an argument. "Statist" regimes have flourished and failed through history while LoLbertarian paradises like Somalia have generally just been shit unless propped up by fortuitous circumstance. Anyway, this debate isn't interesting to me and you are likely unable to provide anything everybody has already heard before from mises.org. Thanks for commenting tho!

Perhaps we should leave the politics for the Pol forum and get back to more important matters... like Vavra's shirt.

Neckbeard shitlord is awesome. I suggest it's added to the default titles on the Codex, who wouldn't be proud to wear it? In fact, make it so you need to fulfill some requirements before you get such a prestigious title.

I will fight for your right to say any nonsense that you want, but i will not approve it.
First of all learn the approach of west slavs towards freedom / liberties and rights, then learn why they disapprove the totalitarian states and their history of the last 1000 years. And last of all, learn more about the last 70 years of middle slav europe. And do this, before you make any statement concerning their viewpoint on this things. Chechien is not USA or any west european country, they have a right to say things that goes far beyond the rights of any anglo saxion or any western country.
You have the right to buy or not buy a game for any reason, but not to criticise him for his standpoint on certain things, which is also a product of their history and west slavic heritage. So you Pan Animal, think carefully about it.

I was excited about this game before I saw actual footage. The graphics are nice but that's all I can say,The combat looked fucking terrible.

Another thing that I did not consider and only thought about after reading an article about the game, voice acting. From the video that I watched the voices sounded like a parody of medieval speech and accents.
I also like the stretch goals,a dog companion is a higher priority than better voicework, makes sense.

Shorter version: Looks like skyrim without fantasy.

You're expecting release quality voice acting in pre-alpha? That's likely one of the developers hamming it up.

I agree with the thought, but communism was implemented only in the actual Soviet Union. Czechoslovakia, like Poland, was socialist.

When reading posts like these I really wonder if people are that retarded or if it is some kind of metahumor I am missing.
The game footage you have seen is more than a year old demo they pitched to publishers, with place holder "voice acting" done by amateur expats, and the combat is obviously extremely work in progress.
Judging the game as "Skyrim" based on that makes you retarded.

1) The combat:
The combat is work in progress, and even now you have elaborated blocking and attacks and collision detecting of swords hiting each other with inverse kinematics, and with different speeds for different level of swordfighting and etc. And they plan for different weapons, that are differnent in their use, like the flail. Skyrim is plain and stupid against that.
2) The voic acting:
They have only used this as a showcase. They have asked in their forum which language they should use: the real medieval english or the modern shakespearean language, or different style.

Is this the game that was a collection of the most banal parts of TES on kickstarter not too long back?
What do you mean with 'the most banal parts' ?
Do you mean that parts, where the npc agents acts according to their scripts, that let them perform different actions, and not just sit around like in skyrim? Or where you have mini games for crafting? And the crafting is according to the real world things / believes, like alchemy from the medieval times?
I dont know why people think so highly about the early TES. TES was nice back then, but it does not shine, in comparison to modern possibilities. The last games of the series are not that great thing, and the dumbing down of the RPG system made it even worse.
