Conclave has been released

I played this one (the free version) for some hours some months ago.

From what I recall it's quite basic in terms of mechanics, there isn't much of a story and the music can get quite repetitive.

It's intended to be played with a couple of friends.

This could be made to be quite interesting. There's so much violence, perversion and nastiness in the bible... If done in AoD style, and without too much preaching, it might even be good.

It would be cool if it had both an Iron man and a Clay man mode.
In the latter when you die, you would be able to reload after 3 days :martini:

Any thought about this?
Contradiction
A live-action, fully interactive adventure mystery game.

Will probably be extremely shitty game. It does look fun for the folks who are making it though, and they are not asking for much money.
Actually is the low sum they are asking for that makes me not add it to the list.
We'll see.

Any interest in this one?
NEW ORBIT
A space game with realistic gravitation, custom ship building and a fully voiced story.

And some of the reward tiers come with exclusive components that you won't be able to get anywhere else. Ever.

It would be interesting to break them down by genre, though - I think some genres suffer from kickstarter fatigue while others are just kind of getting into it. Like, getting Mighty Number 9 (The Mega Man-ish game) funded is a whole different beast than getting Broken Age funded.

My impression is that "kickstarter fatigue" is only affecting small to mid sized projects, big projects with good pitches still have no problem getting funding.

Actually, if you read the article, then you'll see that's not true.

So basically, between 2012 and 2013, the number of $500k projects is essentially the same (around 20), but there has been 25% more projects raising between $100k and $500k. 80% more projects raising between $50k and $100k, 60% more projects raising between $10k and $50k and 50% more projects raising less than $10k.

And to me, this looks like good news overall. It shows a wider selection of projects can get funded via Kickstarter, and not just the very cheap or the very famous. I would be ok for 2014 to see fewer shiny, large projects if that would mean a larger number of projects found a way to get funded. I think this evolution stems from the development of a community of video game enthusiasts embracing the crowd funding principles. A growth from the bottom up sounds a lot healthier overall.

New Orbit looks like mobile game ported to PC. At 1GBP it's cheap enough to try out on my tablet. However, I hate the fact that the PC version is much more expensive than the mobile one, and that he promises unique components to backers only is a bit shit. I'll post my impressions here later.

Yeah - like I say, I wonder what KIND of video game projects are being made - puzzle, arcade, FPS, RPG, Adventure, HentaiPornGames, etc. That would be interesting!

Look at some of the comments.

I am not a charity, and if I did feel like making a charitable donation, I would do it to any of a number of very worthy social causes, rather than for the privilege of making a product available for for-profit sale. So when I back a project, my intent is to receive something myself out of the deal in a more concrete fashion than warm fuzzy feelings.

Little kwan "job creator" in training.

Money with "Investment" scribbled on it doesn't have any more effect on reality than charity money.

I think it's acknowledged that Kwa was one of first nations that told investors with this mentality to "grow up" with its bankruptcy laws and doing away with debtor prisons.
