Are you fucking serious? I got caught drunk driving and they wouldn't give me medication I was prescribed and you get to bring video games? Europe man.

Anyway, indignation aside, try to see if you can get an emulator with thousands of roms in. Seems like an odd rule, but I doubt people working at a prison know what an emulator is. Barring that (Unintentional puns are the best) you could go full sperg on Daggerfall and be the first to traverse the landmass in its entirety. There are also games people have willingly sunk prison amounts of time into like Wizardry 8 and X-Com to consider. Also, who is to say it's an RPG or not? Does the prison have some sort of mini RPGCodex definition division running games through a think tank of elite prison RPG experts to see if it passes? Just tell them Thief is an RPG and bring every fan mission. Become unkillable cat on steroids by not only playing all the FMs, but ghosting them and memorizing how many pixels that guard moves in his AI pathway or some shit.

I doubt they'd let you play FPS games - too violenty. In fact, I recall that Norwegian douchebag who went on a killing spree in 2011 was upset because they wouldn't give him access to violent games.

He was also upset that he was only being provided a Playstation 3 instead of a Playstation 4 and actually filed a formal legal complaint.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Divinity: Original Sin Torment: Tides of Numenera Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
1. FRUA w/ all D&D modules
2. Elder Scrolls: Morrowind so you remember what the sun looks like
3. World of Xeen (easily over 100 hours of play, plus replayability through different party configurations)

Those that suggested Ultimas and SpiderWeb Software games like the Geneforge series, Exile and Avernum are spot on, too. The original X-Com, too.

Mount & Blade: Warband (+mods)
Daggerfall (for them pixel titties and not to be the umptieth guy beating off to skyrim mods)
and probably Final Fantasy VI, just because I never get to finish that pos

but I'd rather not bring too many RPG's... I'd bring Jagged Alliance 2, Civ 4 (maybe 5) and EU4 when talking non-RPG's.

Wizardry 7, because it's long and gud.
Some Civilization, since you can replay it forever.
Beg mondblut to give you the Grimoire beta you can finish.

Did people somehow miss the OP was asking a hypothetical question? Jeezus, modern gamers really forgot how to read. :negative:

Ironically, I can't see me playing any of the best RPG's for 2 years straight without going completely mental. (Can't imagine being in jail for 2 years without going mental either, but, yeah.)

- Civ4 would be a must have, most replayable game even without mods. With mods... it becomes many more games, many of them great.
- Probably some shooter to vent anger/frustration/butthurt, don't know which one; Farcry 4 possibly?
- Since I haven't taken an RPG yet, probably F:NV. -Might- have said Witcher 3, but F:NV offers more I think, if nothing else also act as a second shooter to switch with Farcry. Though honestly, JA2 seems a better choice than either of them but I don't consider it to be a real RPG.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 BattleTech Bubbles In Memoria A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit. Pathfinder: Wrath
I probably wouldn't bring any RPGs due to their limited play time.

Master of Orion 2
Crusader Kings 2
Civilization 5

probably more like it. If I had to pick RPGs only.. hm..

Skyrim
some Roguelike (ADoM or StoneSoup?)
Wizardry 8, cause I haven gotten around to that one yet

honorable mentions:

Dungeon of the Endless
Invisible Inc.
X-Com

Fallout 2 (more replayable than F1)
Arcanum
BG2

I 'd also bring the tools to make an RPG.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
JA2 (with 1.13 to keep me busy trying not to corrupt the save files)
XCOM (with Long War to keep me busy for the long run)
And for a pure RPG...I'd go with FO2.

you faggots must really hate him to recommend fucking Skyrim. What is he going to do for 2 fucking years? Repeat the same shitty radiant ai quests month after month? He would be through with main quest/guild quests in 2 weeks and there is no meaningful exploration in Skyturd.

Anyway take 2 games you havent played to death and 1 your favorite. Since you can emulate think maybe about some long jrpgs from psx/s2 era ? or some older pc classics that actually requires from you skill and thinking and not blindly follow fucking quest compas.

1. Something from Elder Scrolls, since if I'm going to be spending that much time in jail for, hypothetically, treason or inciting hatred, I'll need to get some exercise. Plus, I like trees and mountains, so probably Skyrim.
2. Something with decent turn-based combat. One of the later wizardrys, perhaps. Or I could name Cleve as an accomplice, which would give him plenty of time to finish Grimoire with his own captive beta tester.
3. I'm tempted to name an Ultima, but I've played them all to destruction, so I'll say Wasteland 2 since I haven't played it yet.

Non-RPG: Civ3 - the best by far. I could sink hundreds or thousands of hours into it and probably have.

BTW, there's some very dodgy definitions of RPG in this thread. OP should be more vigilant.

For me, there would definitely be a theme...

1) FRUA with UAShell and every module ever made, which would also give me enough materials to design modules while I was there.
2) Neverwinter Nights with every hack and module ever made, which would also give me enough materials to design modules while I was there.
3) Neverwinter Nights 2 with every hack and module ever made, which would also give me enough materials to design modules while I was there.

For a non-RPG game, it would need to be something infinitely replayable.

1) The original Unreal Tournament with every mod and map that was ever made. Don't know if I'd design maps while there, but if I got bored, I might.
