Yeah, I'm just browsing their forums. Just found that modding quote.
Yeah, this Michael guy is so full of derp it's not even funny.

    http://boards.jaggedalliance.com/index.php?/topic/231-create-your-own-custom-merc-imp/

    Best thread ever material.
Quick summary: no, it won't be possible to create an a custom IMP merc because balancing wise it's too much shit to handle. I can't give you any more details, but I've already naswered this in the German section.
    :retarded:

    Edith:
Damn, the quotes by that guy are pure gold. Can't help myself:
Cpt. Michael Obvious reporting for duty. I'll keep them coming.

The mind. It's blown. So the feature is actually in, and yet you axe it completely because fuck this shit?
By the way, the answer to the question why not toggle it on/off?
Michael's iron logic makes me speechless yet again.

A motto to live by. I bet that line gets the girls all wet.

Right. Why did you bother caling it Jagged Alliance then?
I get it, it's not "Reloaded", it's "Back in Action." You sly devil you.

Hoomies attempted sarcasm on me. I too can sarcasm like a pro.

If I remember correctly, this was the game where the 3d merc portraits were all pretty much a single shitty model, with 2 or 3 different colors to represent black people, asians and so on. So Magic pretty much ended up looking like shit. Shadow was even worse. Have not watched screens since those amazing shots.

Oh man, I've laughed so hard after reading those.

    Some more:

It's a serious business man! Having a player-created mercenary could seriously upset the balance!

We'll wipe our asses with the license and you will watch, lulz.

    You mean this gem obviosly?

Small consolation: you can put on various headgear so that it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb anymore.

    Moar derp from teh forums:

    http://boards.jaggedalliance.com/index.php?/topic/469-no-fow-breaks-the-game-no-surprises/
Thread starts okay, and then wham! LtChambers comes in.
"Hay guise, it's actually okay and realistic to drop the fog of war. I mean, them mercs could have made a predator drone out of a toy helicopter and a camera. Amirite?"

Right on, it's them hartbeat sensors. Makes so much sense now.

I love it when it happens, I really do.

This is some serious business, man. I expect Canada to declare war on Germany as soon as the game is released. That'll teach them a lesson.

Check out Magic! Good grief! I guess it makes sense that Igor and Ivan look the same... almost as if inbred. Fidel transformed into a black guy. Biff looks like a stud all of a sudden  WTF? Grunty leveled up to down syndrome.

Man... they really butchered this one. What a waste. They shouldn't have even bothered.

Actually all of AIM appears to be one massive cloning experiment. Nails and Static look like fill ins for any number of 70's bands.

Hey, I see MERC up there ( @ Black, yeah that is CSS) so what is Biff doing in AIM? Who is with Merc now?

I'm really glad they released a demo, because I was considering buying this. Now I know that I won't be. For those of you who are wondering if this is a good game in spite of the JA label, it is *not*. In terms of gameplay it's not really comparable to JA2 at all. As a previous post said, it's more similar to 7.62HC and I agree that it's worse in every way. After going through the tutorial and playing the demo level for five minutes, I couldn't wait to shut it off. It's awful.

I have no idea who Bit Composer is intending to sell this game to. The majority of the fans of the original series will hate it, and I don't really see it selling to anyone else. They want $40 retail for this? I predict *very* disappointing sales figures.

I just watched a gameplay video and had the same identical thought. That thing is blaaaaand. Damage is little, fallen comrades are rescued in no time, combat looks sooooo short ranged...

Well, the good thing is that nobody is going to buy this game, so

    a) bad people will lose money
    b) the franchise rape will quickly be forgotten.

There is one positive of this remake - my favorite game store has discounted previous JA titles :smug: Good way to replace my decade-old CDs with electronic versions.

And it will "prove" that PC gamers really don't want games like JA2.
