I don't get the point of cutting a DLC/Addon in two.

Faster development cycle for the first half, meaning they can keep the masses hooked before they forget about the game.

It is a good thing, because it means they have to add sellable "killer" features to both parts. As mindx2 mentioned, they were actually at some point referring to them as two separate expansions anyway.

Now Feargus is saying it's one expansion divided into two parts, which is good because it means I get both of them for my $20 expansion pledge.

I am sure you are going to get 1st expansion part for those $20, i give $20 for the first expansion too :(

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
Josh also kind of loves European history and he loves sort of singing in choir and all that kind of stuff.

So, [the concept] of why we wanted to come up with those classes, was really this idea of RPGs, and obviously we always all go back to Lord of the Rings as the way to look at everything, but a lot of it was, we wanted to make sure that when it's related to classes there was enough that was familiar, very familiar.

I think, prior to Alpha Protocol in particular, there was a lot of roleplaying games, probably games in general, there was sort of the good way and the bad people way. And the good way, you walk grandma across the street, and the bad way, you... throw her across it, I don't know.

Like the poet says, "Smoke weed every day!"

I wonder how it will work for backers who already gave extra money for expansion.

Give us one massive expansion. Think Mask of the Betrayer, without cut content (some of which was self-inflicted by Ziets thinking WOTC wouldn't let players bring down the Wall).

It would be nice if we got something as "different" as Mask of the Betrayer was from the NWN2 OC. I don't think that will happen though :/

I have misgivings about anyone even remotely connected to Herve and Interplay having anything to do with the Pillars IP. I hope this is an interdependent or Taylor alone + Paizo venture.

As for the expansion in two parts, I have to wonder why?

IIRC Chris has a company together with Obsidians Scott Everts

It's just overkill.
