This is more or less a point-and-click adventure, but it's far from traditional, so I'm putting it in General Gaming.
INFRA is a Finnish game in the Source engine where you play as a municipal inspector who has to inspect a bunch of public works structures that have gone uninspected for years. When you arrive, you find pretty much everything in a state of disrepair. Your goal is to photograph evidence structural damage and corruption, as well as to survive any ceilings that might cave in on you.
It's kind of boring to play for an extended period, and there are some errors in the English that make a couple of puzzles confusing, but it's a marvel that someone put so much effort into this of all things. It's incredibly detailed, and the environments are a pleasure to explore.
It has a good B-movie vibe to it, like someone interested in urban exploration found a bunch of old shitty buildings and tunnels that nobody cared about and tried to make a story out of them. The story and writing are terrible, of course (and the main voice actor is hilarious), but it really took me along for the ride and made me interested in what the hell would happen next.
Currently it's only out as "Part 1" because they ran out of money, I'm guessing, but it's full of content, and it took me 11 hours to complete. Provided that it's ever finished, Part 2 is set to be released for free for everyone who owns Part 1. For the time being it ends with (spoiler alert) a ceiling caving in on you and the screen fading to black, with the message, "To be continued..." So that kind of sucks, but it's a better product than most episodic releases for sure, especially at the price of $15.
There's a stupid hunt for resources mechanic wherein you have to find batteries for your shitty camera and shitty flashlight, both of which have incredibly short lifespans, so I recommend cheating to just get as many batteries as you can and playing it at your own pace.
