Does Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition use the original Baldur's Gate spells, or does it use Baldur's Gate II's spells?

What an awesome game, well at least I will have something to look forward to in case PoE ends up not being what I really wanted. Have not played IWD since about 2005-6 or something, so this will possibly be pretty fun

Who the hell would want this???
People that played BG:EE for the story, heard about Icewind Dale and totally expect it to be like BG, I guess...
Maybe I am fucked in the head or something but for some reason I actually preferred the story and world of IWD over BG. I think it might be because any story where you are a 'chosen one' and involves 'Gods' and shit makes me just stop paying attention almost right away. I really hate that 'epic' save the world, you are bastard son of a GOD! type shit with a vengeance..I get IWD did not really have as much of a plot because it was more railroaded, but I still liked it better for whatever reason. I have not played either game in almost 10 years though, so maybe I just can't remember right.

I think I am going to get BG EE, BG II EE and IWD EE and play them all again before PoE comes out. It will probably make me hate PoE even more though when it finally does come out, but whatever..

Who asked for this?
I did not ask for it, but I am now actually looking forward to it more than PoE. That was not the case until PoE released its Beta, I still think i will like PoE, but the fact that it has so much fucking potential is going to bother me until the day I die. Its just so close to perfect, in some ways it is worse than if it did not exist at all..lol

anyway, am now fairly excited for my upcoming BG, BG II and IWD EE replays, have not played them in over a decade...

Sounds like the main feature that's being enhanced is the game balance, as in thrown out the window. IWD was pretty easy as it was, with specialist classes and all the spells from BG it'll be a dawdle, even without the retarded story mode

Yeah, but think of the feeling of pride and true achievement of soloing the game on heart of fury with your time stopping kensai-mage or your facepalm quivering palm monk. Won't that be grand ? Won't it motherfucker ? Isn't that the true spirit of a party based 2ed D&D game ? Yeah... I thought so.

Oh god don't make me work on an original Infinity Engine game, if I ever see anyone suggesting that again I will send them a strongly worded letter about how awful the IE is to work in. STRONGLY WORDED.

It's the selection circle style, not color. Beamdog made them look HORRIBLE

If you turn off colored circles in the options menu, the style (shape) of the circles will return to how they looked in the original BG2.

Codex Year of the Donut Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Well, in theory this should turn out pretty well considering the sheer momentum they've gained from both BG EE projects---I'd also imagine this bodes much the same for IWD 2.

On the other hand, they essentially managed to trip on a corner and fall down the stairs at the starting line of what should've been a straightforward footrace somehow in terms of the polish level and patching needed on BG EE II which shouldn't have been in such dire straits coming off of BG EE----I hope that trend wouldn't continue or somehow manage to worsen with IWD EE...

Icewind Dale 2 would be harder for them to do because they'd have to throw away much of the accumulated work they've done on the IE AD&D implementation. I think I even remember seeing somebody from Beamdog outright say that they wouldn't do it.

The 3E rules in IWD2 have deviated pretty far from the vanilla Infinity Engine implementation. IWD:EE is much more likely than an IWD2:EE

Granted, it's been a while.

but the fact that it has so much fucking potential but is going to bother me until the day I die.

Make suggestions to increase the likelihood of it reaching more if it's potential

I have given you many props over the last few weeks because your truly are doing great work and have a very pragmatic and :obviously: approach to the PoE demo. I don't know that I am as smart or patient and thoughtful as you are and worry I might just as likely cause them to dig in their heels even further just to spite me if I started to complain too loudly.

You are probably right though, I should organize my thoughts about what bothers me and try to deliver it in a non-aggressive and thoughtful manner if I really want to see some changes in PoE.... I guess in order to try and save myself some disappointment I had already come to the idea that JS/Obsidian would not listen anyway, but its true I really have not even attempted any sort of constructive criticism so far. The basic look and engine are absolutely gorgeous and really look better than I would have ever expected, so the possibility fro greatness is truly there.

Again I give you a lot of credit for trying very hard to get the best results possible under the circumstances you have to work with, you are truly a bro.

Are the IOS versions of these games decent? I'm supposed to go to my in-laws with the wife and kids for a month next year and given they don't believe in wireless because they're afraid of being hacked my Ipad is useless unless I load it up with decent games/movies first.
