Whenever I see screenshots for that game I imagine what a proper Warcraft 4 would be like using that engine and get excited for a bit, but then I remember this is 2014 Blizzard and forget about it instantly.

Lol, they are adding Lost Vikings to the rooster :)
But they are sitting in a ship...

That's a special ability. Normally, you can control all 3 independently. I don't even follow the game and I know this. If you are going to report information at least take a little pride in your work.

Wait, are you a professional game journalist? :smug:

Lol, I only saw that screenshot on somewhere. TBH I'm happy about using them seperately, though it can easly become a micromanagement hell. (which I fail horribly...)

It would be more manageable in HotS 'cause IIRC there are no items. I think. Actually been in the alpha for a while but haven't tried it 'cause the last time I liked playing these kinda games was before people started taking it seriously in WC3. Last hitting and denying, nuts to it. Sorta like L4D was/is fun when it's normal people playing a videogame, but basically anyone you play it with now has played 3,000 hours of it and goes into uncontrollable spasms if the team is working at peak efficiency.

I'm liking this way more than I thought I would. I've played a ton of HoN, and dota 1, a bit dota 2. This MOBA/brawler is by far the most fun and engaging I've tried so far.

I like all the new changes to the mechanics of the genre. It's certainly a breath of fresh air, and a cool concept.

How are you guys liking it so far?

Worse than DOTA2 in pretty much every aspect. I log in every few days to clear daily quests and that's it.

Well I respectfully, disagree with all your points.

Keep in mind though, the game is still just in alpha...

If he was a game journalist he wouldn't even have recognized the Lost Vikings.

Matchmaking in this game is fucking retarded, unbalanced heroes, stealth is broken, unlocking abilities by grinding is stupid, maps are too small, etc.

Game is not that bad but my god...

Blizzard released this game waaay to fucking late, if this game was released before dota 2 by now it would be like the second most played moba in the world.

There is no matchmaking yet, they just match anybody avaiable for testing purposes. More games played means more data. They are hiding behind alfa stage excuse now, we'll see if they can manage some proper MM at beta.
Stealth is not broken if you watched enough Predator movies and played Predator games(or SC2). "İnvisible" heroes are not that invisible and they drop like flies. I agree about unbalanced heroes though and it's getting worse with each new hero release. And speaking of blizzard experice, this off balance is here to stay sadly.
What grind? It took 2-3 vs. matches with a friend to get a hero level 4 which gives you all them talents. Now getting 10 for masterskin (which cost 10K gold...) thats some serious grind right there... Also most of the master stuff is really fucking ugly like witch doctor's.
I kinda like small maps, they lead some good action even early stages of game and games tend to be shorther thanks to this.
I wasn't taking this game serious but after playing it for 2 months I cannot return to DotA 2. Dunno if this is a good thing or not.

This game is worse than DOTA2 in every possible way: slow action, little strategy, health bloat, small maps, gimmicks, etc. It's casual DOTA which makes sense given Blizzard's new emphasis on 'broad-appeal' F2P games. Hearthstone, Heroes, and Overwatch.

I kinda like heroes of the storm, because it cut out all the crap I hated from other MOBA-games like right clicking on the ground like a madman, only to use your hero attack to deny or get last hit on mobs. It cuts out all the bullshit, and goes straight for the meat, which is the hero brawling, which is the only thing that's really interesting in these types of games for me. Still not an excellent game, like metro, I log in just to do the daily quests, but this has more to do with my disinterest in the whole genre, rather than anything else i think.

You can disable autoattack in Dota 2. Also lasthitting and denying rewards mechanical skill which is a good thing in my book.

Heroes of the Storm is just the worst shit ever if you are familiar with DotA. What I hate most about it is the elimination of individuall skill. There is no way you can get an edge on your own merit through gold or XP which leads to the incredibly boring "5 people blobs farm the objectives" gameplay. Also you cannot carry in any way if you have 1-2 kretins who do not understand that it is all about the map objectives and do random shit, which makes public matchmaking all the more frustrating. I also hate the nonexisting laning phase because laning in DotA is fun.
In my opinion there is no reason to play this game without at least 3-4 friends because it's just a diceroll on who get's the retard that doesn't come to the mandatory teamclash in solo queue and you can't do anything about it with individual class.

That's exactly where we disagree. I don't find it rewarding at all, I find it a mindless activity, literally like popping moles.

I'm sure, but as I said, I don't have a huge love for the the genre. But actually the diminishing of individual skills and focus on the team as whole, is a good thing in my book, and is the second thing I've disliked about the genre up until now, because it is at its core a team game. It also mostly removes all of the shitkids, which DOTA-games are fucking chock full of.

This is the worst part. Makes solo queue as a support unbearable. If you're a specialist like Gazlowe you can at least push out mercenary camps but if you're Malfurion you can't do shit if your teammates are incompetent.

Did you even bother to understand what you are supposed to do in a lane? The mechanical ability to hit when mob is at low hp is the least important part about last hitting.

How exactly does it remove the shitkids? Atm it looks like a beacon for all the mongoloids plaguing dota/lol that just want to fight all game.

Any big game with automated matchmaking is gonna have the same playerbase as lol/dota.

I'm glad these games exist as they tend to siphon at least a slight portion of run of the mill retards from other multiplayer/mmo games.

Dunno mate, whener I play any multiplayer game with stragers I found myself under some troll/retard storm. Things were better when MP player numbers were low...
