Longbow Games has taken to Kickstarter to collect funding for their next game, Hegemony III: Clash of the Ancients. Taking place in the early period for Rome, it boasts 25 factions including the Celts, Etruscans, Romans, Latins, Samnites, Italics and Greeks.

They're asking for $30,000 and have 28 days left.

Holding a KS campaign in Christmas season may be the worst idea I have seen in some time.

I don't know too many people who are not totally burnt out (money wise) in this month...
This is something I would love to support, but a budget is a budget.

Yes, some of the campaign will be in January, and I do hope that they do well until then, but I still think this is really bad timing.

Yeahhhhh nahh not going to back it. I only played the original, but the game play was very tedious and flawed. The reviews for the sequel suggest that it wasn't any better. If this is just more of the same, then count me out; it's sad, too, because the setting is great.

Replayed first one, it's pretty boring. After 10 minutes, it becomes city grinding.

Tried demo of second, it's easier but overall very similar to the first. They are rather niche games that do not really deliver nor do they have a lot of content or options. I can see why the funding failed before reaching even 1/2 of the goal.
