The playable demo gives players a taste of what they can expect from the complete game upon its release. Containing the Tutorial plus Single Player Campaign of 1939, the Hearts of Iron III demo allows you to play as either Germany, France, Poland or the United Kingdom for the first four months of World War II.

Let me guess. It has a lot of potential but will only reach greatness after at least one patch and/or expansion. Like all of Paradox's games.

Unfortunately that may be accurate. The AI seems greater than in any of their games and it is very stable. (from my short survey this far) But clearly there seems to be some things missing that makes it look like they haven't implemented everything yet. I checked a later scenario (1944) with Sweden and they hadn't had one single technology researched in that scenario.

so it seems like they finished the most important parts, but some minor things are wrong. (there is already several discussions about map issues etc. on their forums.)

Also, it feels more hardcore (which explains the throbbing part).
