GUN was honestly one of the most depressing games I've ever played. It was just so miserable from start to finish because virtually any character you might care about gets brutally murdered.

I think it was actually one of the first digital titles I ever purchased (direct2drive).

I didn't mind the time I spent on it, but I'm not sure it's worth 20 bucks. Maybe on a sale.

I've never played RDR unfortunately, but I bought a DVD copy of GUN out of a $3 clearance bin a few years ago. I found it to be quite silly and never got far. The most fun I had was riding around on my horse pretending to be in the Old West. Then I discovered the game has one of those mechanics where combat goes into slow-motion sometimes so you can perform superhuman feats of shooting, and I quit.

There's also a Telltale sale going on. Don't like any of their games, but it's going to last 7 days, which apparently is a "weekend" for TT.

I remember Parkan 2 though. Seemed like a cool FPS/Sim hybrid. Wishlisted this for now, but glad GOG is looking into bringing games like that.

GOG has announced earlier today that it be removing over 30 games for people with a German IP address. This will be happening sometime this week and is similar to Steam’s recent crackdown, which saw games from way back in the 90s, to the present day, suddenly become unavailable to purchase for German customers.

Unlike Steam, GOG has decided to warn people in advance. They have also ensured us that people who have already purchased these titles, will not be having them removed when it takes effect.

The list of games is as follows:

Aliens Versus Predator Classic 2000

Blake Stone Aliens Of Gold

Blood 2 The Chosen Expansion

One Unit Whole Blood

Bloodrayne

Bloodrayne 2

Cannon Fodder

Carmageddon 2 Carpocalypse Now

Carmageddon Max Pack

The Chaos Engine

Far Cry

Harvester

Kingpin Life Of Crime

Lucius

Medal Of Honor Allied Assault War Chest

Painkiller

Phantasmagoria 2

Postal 2 Complete

Postal Classic And Uncut

Red Faction

Red Faction 2

Redneck Rampage Collection

Rise Of The Triad Dark War

Rune Classic

Shadow Warrior Complete

Sin Gold

Star Wars Dark Forces

Total Overdose A Gunslinger’s Tale In Mexico

unreal_tournament_2004_ece

Unreal Tournament GOTY

Mortal Kombat 1, 2, and 3

This is why I want to leave this motherfucking piece of shit country.

Project: Eternity Shadorwun: Hong Kong

I vaguely remember this game, although I am not sure if I have ever played it.

Wow, that's some really cool shit. One of the first games I've ever played. The devs behind (Nikita Studios) explained that they wanted to make something like Elite and combine it with Doom. It didn't work very well because action on the planets kinda sucks, but the space sim part, they got it right.

I remember Parkan 2 though. Seemed like a cool FPS/Sim hybrid. Wishlisted this for now, but glad GOG is looking into bringing games like that.

Parkan 2 is supposed to be a remake of the original Parkan. Sadly, it is total garbage.

With no further comment on Germany's retarded censorship of computer games, according to the GOG announcement you just won't be able to buy any of these games from a German IP address. In other words, use Tor / a VPN proxy and you'll be fine.

The publishers could probably get most games removed from the list, if they bothered (like Bethesda did with Doom). But it's not worth it for them and the German law apparently has to time limit on the bans.

Despite your avatar, I must say this: Wait for more than -50% off Deponia Doomsday. It's not worth much.

Haven't played the game but it's based on a french comic, which is very inspired by Warhammer and Warcraft 1+2. I've read that the game is supposed to be nothing special, but I'm getting it for its source material.

The comic is kinda good, for a French series.

That means that's mostly graphical porn (not literal porn, simply the graphical style is kinda nice and some panels rather impressive) but the plot is the usual French "Heavy Metal" stuff, so it mostly does not make sense at all and the author threw in everything he thought was "cool" at the moment.

If someone gets it, a small review could be nice. I'm itching for some fantasy RTS and reinstalling TA: Kingdoms or Warcraft is a big no-no.
