Having the game you have on Steam, only DRM free? Pretty obvious. Yes GoG isnt getting money if you purchase it from them as well, but it makes you use their platform more so win for them.

I know I am being obtuse but the popularity of DRM eludes me a bit, so what good exactly does me a DRM free version of a game that I already own?
DRM free > DRM ? Come on man.

Damn, was hoping I could get Witcher 3 Expansion pass by buying it on Steam. Steam has localized pricing for my country, GOG doesn't, thus it's almost double the price on GOG. :(

GOG connect is broken for me.

Now I need to search for my Steam key-only games in my Humble Store library, then activate the keys on Steam and then associate them with Gog.

I know I am being obtuse but the popularity of DRM eludes me a bit, so what good exactly does me a DRM free version of a game that I already own?
I play my games on a PC which is never (in fact almost never) connected to Internet, so getting a transferable installer is far more convenient than Steam.

Due to exceedingly high demand this may take up to several days, please check back later. Thank you for your patience.

Truly, :potato: experience.

Anyone else getting "oops something went wrong" in the window that's supposed to let me log into Steam account?

Yep. I imagine they're just getting hit hard. I'll try again tomorrow, doubt there needs to be a rush on this.

Then it's pretty pointless if you can't connect to their service in the first place. Nothing is lost although I imagine if it's a big issue they'll extend the deadline, or not. It would be nice to have DRM free versions of the few games I own that overlap on both platforms but I won't lose much sleep over it if it doesn't work out.

I got to the point once that they showed me 8 games that qualify from my Steam Library. Then that page disappeared.

I did a comparison of the titles eligible under GOG Connect and the titles available DRM-free on Humble Bundle.

Breach & Clear
Breach & Clear: Deadline
Galactic Civilizations 3
Mount & Blade
Project Zomboid
Saints Row 2
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut

are not listed as DRM-free in the Humble Bundle store, so using GOG Connect is a good move for these games.

In addition the following games are not available in the Humble Bundle store:

Sherlock Holmes: Secret of the Silver Earring
Two Worlds
Unreal Gold
Unreal Tournament GOTY

Congratulations :salute: on striking a blow for anti-DRM!

But I have a couple of questions about how this system works:

1. Will I have to keep my Steam Profile permanently set to 'Public' or risk my games getting removed?

2. Does your software need 'Inventory' to be 'Public' or is 'Profile Status' enough?

I assume the passage about game removal is there to prevent sneaky attempts at getting games without paying: Buy a game on Steam, get it on gog.com via the connect thingy, refund the game on Steam.

Edit: The adding now finally worked.

I'd like to know this as well. I have everything set to private on Steam because I'm not the sharing type.
