So you're buffing a system to compensate for a buffed system? This is what I'm saying, you need restraint, not just turning everything up to 11. That ends in muchkin-land.

You have no understanding of what you are saying. You're out of your depth.
"Advancement", "design synergy": come back when you've experienced it. I will be happy to discuss this with you at that time, and there's always a chance I will make changes based on your feedback.

Ok, I'm done trying to help you. Spit buzzwords until you're blue in the face- I honestly hope DX turns out a better game from it but you've gone full modder on this. As Robert Downey Jr. said:

:nocountryforshitposters:

If you want to help me, play the fucking mod first and then offer feedback, not throw a number of assumptions at me. People aren't calling this the "definitive Deus Ex experience" or the "True remastered Deus Ex" and so on with belief that I'm a typical modder.

I come bearing more incline:

v7 changelog in progress:

Bold = Steep incline.

-Improved Explosion effects once again: screen shakes if in close proximity, explosion fragmentation gives off smoke trails & light, variation of debris spawned & improved explosion sprites themselves.
-Fixed the plot conflict of the commercial-grade security bots having stealth technology (cloak). Only the advanced model MJ12 uses has this now.
-Increased the size of all shell casing types.
-Improved throwing knifes significantly more.
-If upgrading Environmental Training skill Tech googles now stack in the inventory & last longer based on skill level too.
-Increased greasel attack rate.
-GEP Gun Scope remote control no longer automatically deactivates after the rocket is destroyed and remote controlled rockets move slower so they are easier to control.
-Various light fixtures & Hanging animal carcasses are highlighted when targeted as most other decoration types are.
-New right click interactivity for Hanging Pig, Hanging Chicken & TAD object types, which previously had no right click-triggered interactivity.
-New interactive objects in general (only Rock & Log so far)
-Text for books, datacubes and other readables scaled up so is easy to read at higher resolutions.
-At low-tech trained both throwing knifes and darts are easier to see in flight, and improved the in-flight effect (no more light).
-Hardcore mode just got more hardcore: save points now require 100 credits to use. The result is Risk vs Reward design is significantly enhanced and credits have more purpose.
-Pickups no longer break to gas grenade explosions, and flares cannot be ignited by striking them with a baton.
-Optimized gore to be less performance-intensive.
-Unused textures for cigarettes, candy bars and soda cans are now used.
-Thrown corpses now produce sound upon impact, and this sound alerts neaby NPCs too.
-NPC death screams now alert neaby NPCs (just a few feet for gameplay balancing).
-If holding a carcass or TNT crate friendly NPCs may get frightened or attack.
-Increased the translucency of carried decoration even more so.
-simulated jumping & landing camera/FPP view model effects are less intense if holding pickups or a carcass, and also toned down fliching effect a touch.
-Refined the behaviour of the other new camera/FPP view model effects introduced in GMDX.
-Robots emit sparks if health is low.
-Multitools can now be used to hack devices at a distance. Range increases further based on multitools skill.
-Sped up tracers a little more.
-Decreased the collision radius of rats so they do not float over edges.
-Added variation to facial features of the NSF, MJ12 and Rooks gang.
-Cut down on the number of smoke-emitting objects spawned when an object is blown up as the particles can be resource-intensive.
-Improved Plasma Rifle effects further
-Cloaked enemies are now harder to see.
-Gave FireExtinguisher a more appropriate spray sound.
-Added the improved gore for the mechs that explode on death, which were special cases.
-Weapons no longer spawn silent bullet casings if it has a silencer on.
-Increased AI reaction times a little more.
-Anna Navarre cloaks earlier.
-Increased environmental electricity damage a touch (spider bot attack values are already fine).
-Melee attacks now draw damage decals when striking level geometry, decal type dependant on texture group (if stone, crack. if metal, dent etc).
-Set cage light back to invincible for a number of reasons.
-Poisoned augmented MiB's play a unique pain sound.
-Flesh Fragments are less bouncy
-added a new MiB to the game that has different augmentations.
-Increased the duration of camera confusion after being hit by EMP
-Cameras take less time to spot the player (-2 seconds).
-Stealth skill level 2 sets camera alarm trigger timer back to vanilla levels instead of reducing footstep sounds now that run silent is no longer redundant.
-New accessible inventory shortcuts: right click an item in the inventory to use or equip. Middle mouse to drop.
-The PS20 is now three times as deadly (same damage as a plasma rifle shot).
-UMP & Sawed-off have some new sounds

Do I have to restart if I upgrade my version? I would really like to see those new throwing knives on my playthrough.

No, you shouldn't need to. I can update you now if you'd like. Some of it hasn't had adequate testing yet but it's simple enough code that I'm confident it will be relatively bug-free.

Recent developments on cloaking systems:

-New cloaking activation effects: visual and audible.
-MJ12 Elite sometimes activate cloak (Thermoptic camo) immediately upon spotting the player, other times as per vanilla cloak behavior they activate when health drops past a certain value.
-MJ12 Elite always deactivate cloak when they have lost the player.
-Cloaked enemies are much harder to see.
-EMP damage always disables an enemies cloak, for good.

Yet another shining 10/10 review has come in:

"Amazing project with amazing modders, the work done on this piece of art is flawless, this makes the game more entertaining than it already it, such a perfection!"

People aren't calling this the "definitive Deus Ex experience" or the "True remastered Deus Ex" and so on with belief that I'm a typical modder.

...Or retarded for that matter. Fucking Codex, you're currently housing a fresh master of old school incline, so show the support I need.

Colour-coded alternate ammo:

DeusEx_2014-12-07_06-14-41-993.jpg

Alternate ammo types are color coded in the HUD Toolbar. Tranq darts are green (because the xbow is the only weapon with three ammo types), all other alt ammo is orange.
This may exclude one or two interface color schemes from being properly compatible, but so be it as form must follow function; alt ammo being colour-coded means you know what ammo you have loaded at all times.

It's meaningless. If I were a typical modder, this'd be a nude mod or some other likewise short-sighted work.

There was a time when I wanted to quit due to a lack of support & team members. Fuck that though, I'm learning multiple skills simultaneously whilst "advancing" the core design of my favorite game.

:incline:

I could really use some team members though. The things that could be further accomplished...

I'd love to help, truth be told.
But I don't know a fucking thing about Deus Ex aside from some basic modding stuff.
Plus, starting up a new job on Monday so I'm too busy studying up.

I think the phrase refers more to the typical modder who posts on codex. Like Qwinn or Drog. ie, someone who made a mod people widely like, but who also has a tendency to incite DRAMA.

Drama, huh?

Ohhh, look what I found today:

If another copy & paste job is something to be proud of and boast about, then I have no shame in boasting about my work and what the "fans" had to say about it. Fans that weren't paid or caught in a system of corruption. The fans have spoken.

Not that I expect any result, it'd probably be that Game of Thrones mod for M&W2 that wins MOTY since it is insanely popular, but you can vote GMDX for mod of the year via the main page as just one method of supporting GMDX.

Random vanilla Deus Ex fact of the day that you may not have known: when karkians or greasels are eating corpses some of their health is restored per bite.

This is the sort of random thing that shows just how much the developers of that game cared about programming interactions and rules and such instead of making levels and objectives based around "these are the 3 paths, choose one"
