Arcane
It is 1562 and there is only war.
After the defeat and death of Yoshimoto Imagawa at the hands of Oda Nobunaga, the once powerful Imagawa Clan fell into internal disputes. Taking advantage of this situation, one of their retainers, Ieyasu Matsudaira, rebelled and establised himself at the province of Mikawa. An alliance with Nobunaga further cemented his position and secured his western border.
The Imagawa clan holds two provinces in the east, while the Takeda in the mountains of Kai have recently expanded and become a force to be reckoned with.
From left to right: Gold, rations, horses, firearms, development, labor.
Ronin are hired, especially those capable in handling domestic maters, to help in developing our provinces.
The first step is to enact a policy of increasing labor, where mlitary manpower is used as workforce in the provinces. It costs quite a bit of gold to maintain but it will do for a bit.
To keep the Hojo from interfering in favor of the Imagawa, a diplomat is sent to improve relations.
Since no armies will march for a while it is safe to sell rations to finance the army buildup.
Relations gotta be maxed out. The Hojo are probably the most powerful clan at this point, it doesn't hurt to keep them on or side.
Benis'd.
With harvesting season over, more grain is sold as money is always in short supply.
Nobunaga asks us to defend Inuyama from his enemies in Mino. If we do end up fighting a battle, it might be worth the rations as it will serve as training for our officers, might allow us to capture enemy leaders and will put us in the Oda's good graces.
Okazaki Castle's army is raised and makes for Inuyama.
As Nobunaga suspected, a combined enemy force prepares to lay siege.
:aznrunes:
Gifu is a fuckhuge fortress, the 2nd large castle in Nobunaga's possession.
Nevertheless, the army arrives in Inuyama.
The besiegers are caught off guard in a night assault.
Nobunaga arrives to reinforce but by then Ieyasu has already trashed the enemy formations.
:aznrage:
gg
Completely trashed with minimal losses.
Pretty worthless officer. Janitor tier.
BUT HAYHAYHO NIGGA. WE GOT THE LU BU OF THE GAME WANDERING THE PROVINCE AS A RONIN.
The guy is hired without a second thought and rewarded with a treasure to keep him loyal.
A 2 year alliance is signed with the Hojo. We are now clear to invade the Imagawa.
All the armies make towards the border in haste. The enemy has greater numbers, so speed and concentration of force is of the essence.
IT'S ON.
PREPARE TO HAY-HAY-HOOO
Almost 3000 of their men are caught in the midst of this lightning offensive, finding themselves outnumbered as the rest of their soldiers are still enroute from the east.
ITZ STARTING.
