Of course, we even had a short-lived LP of it. Before the guy realized just how much dialogue there is in a Rance-type game.

Big Bang Age gets tricky as hell later on.
Not really, the disk I imported got stolen, that was after a critical hard drive failure, which was after I went on my yearly attempt to lower my taxes by going to India and volunteering as a surgeon providing free care, this was then followed by a bit of a crunch time at work(The start of each season tends to be a little busy), and by the time that was over. I was bored with it and with hentai, having installed enough tit implants during that time that they had honestly started to disgust me. I think I may still have an ISO I used to demo the game before, I actually put down the cash to import it from Japan.

Edit: Clarification. Rural India and I generally throw darts to figure out which third/second world country I go to. It's not always India.

I stand corrected. Damn, you don't even need a game like that for adventuring, do you? How many places you been to?
Every state at least once(Canada and Mexico if you count those as states, as well), India, Bolivia, Peru, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Haiti, Niger, Chad, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Romania, Finland, Germany, Venezuela, Ecuador, Iceland, Thailand, Denmark, Singapore, China, New Guinea, Australia, and let's just simplify it, and say at least 5 others I'm probably forgetting.

Top three, 3. Denmark, technically Amsterdam, I took a boat there, still remember it as a trip to Denmark though, cause I can't really remember most of the day I spent in Amsterdam. Got utterly fried on moonpies which didn't stop my breathing at all like mary jane normally does, 2. Canada, they saved me from losing a limb when I was seven, what can I say, 1. Japan, realized I forgot that the moment I posted. Went there for the Tokyo Game Show in 05... Maybe. Bottom three, 3. Finland, then again, maybe it was my fault for going there in the winter, but it was too fucking cold and I hardly got any relaxation because the hotel heater had 2 modes, "Oh My FUCKING SCIENCE, this is too hot." or "FUCK I need to turn the heat up." 2. Thailand, too much time spent being accosted by pimps. I wasn't a sex tourist, damn it. 1. Zimbabwe, not even sure why, just hate the name.

Ladies and Gentlemen, three days (or four depending on the time zone) before the release I'm proud to announce that we have another vid. Which shows something that pleases me on several levels :smug: mainly, Potatoland is in.

This is the only game coming out in recent history or future that I am actually expecting to be very enjoyable even before I have really seen it play. How the fuck did it come to this? The only developers you can trust are two bit japs who part time as bad erotic fan fiction writers and altogether probably make half of what Kotick's personal ball massager does.

Eagerly awaiting your impressions, Whiskey and others. Them translators better be working on this 24/7, overseen by slavemasters with whips.

Wiesz co z tym zrobić :smug:
No LP man, the interface is similar to "Big Bang Age" but far more self-explanatory like "Sengoku Rance". I'm pretty sure I could run with it even in Japanese... but I would miss all the awesome text.

Damn it to hell, give me the patch!

First impressions: It took at lest 15min to install, then I started it... and then I came... oh God, it's heaven.

Weeaboofags, if you don't want to wait a long time for a translation patch, you can do a crude but effective translation yourself. Just use a program such as AGTH (Anime Games Text Hooker) to automatically copy the Japanese text, and then run that through a translation program. I guess Google Translate would work. AGTH instructions are in the User Manual at the website. You might have to play around with AGTH settings a little bit to get the text to copy though, using the commands like /ks /kf /x and /v if /c isn't enough. Now you can play all those untranslated Japanese hentai games you always wanted to play but couldn't before!

My God I'm barely in turn 3 and already fucking, one consensual one not :smug: I'm also after my virgin space battle - nothing elaborately deep... yet.

Ok, that's enough. No more playing until the patch.

I tried it with Rance 6 and the translations were pretty horrible, and my elementary japanese abilities still couldn't figure out half the crap even with an auto-dictionary to give me the word meanings and let me try to puzzle it out myself. I'm sure it works fine for pure visual novels where all you have to do is figure out which button leads to fucking the girl, but not a chance for games like this. There is a very good reason companies hire translators instead of running things through a machine.

EDIT: I found Translation Aggregator to be very useful. Basically its a front end for AGTH that can also automatically run the output through a few different translators or dictionary parsers.

Would we call it the best strategy game of 2011, or would we call it one of the best strategy games of year it will get an english translation?

We could side step that problem and just preemptively label it the best strategy/RPG game of the decade. Making such a declaration before the decade is up is hardly without precedent in gaming journalism and its not like much else is on the foreseeable horizon.

Short review:

:rage:

:decline:

Several design choices that don't sit well with me, simple combat, shitty protagonist. Is sad.

So in other words, the :decline: has finally struck weeaboo porn game developers? Who would have guessed? :M Well, it was too fun to let it last :conspiracy:

However, from what I remember the combat in Big Bang Age was also very simplistic and the protagonist was shitty beyond imagination (read: 't was not Rance :().

The protagonist was definitely pretty lame in BBA, but combat was actually quite good later in the game even though it appeared overly simplistic early on (SR gets worse the more powerful you get since you can just spam 1/2 powerful characters, BBA forces you to pretty much use everyone). Sad that we won't be getting Rance with Nazis in Space though :(

Is that only me or is the Majestic Horse working along with Rance on this one?
