Purchases must have trickled down to nothing for an extended period.

Also the site is kinda getting hammered right now

I bet most of these assholes aren't even going to like playing it in the first place, the UI isn't even as good as skyrim and the graphics aren't as good as dragon age 2

I have all the Fallout games on GOG as well as the Fallout Trilogy pack. Really nice gesture by GOG even if it's useless for a lot of RPG fans, as there are still way too many Fallout 3 fans who don't understand how far their "best game ever" has fallen from grace.

    I want you to die.

Also: Good on GOG.com. I love those guys. I own the White Label DVDs of Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics (haven't bothered with Tactics of course), but I see no harm in getting an extra digital copy as insurance.

GOG no longer stands for good old games, now it's just Gee Oh Gee.

It's supposed to be a tutorial (a thing that's supposed to teach you how to play) and it utterly failed at that. Not that I ever had any problems of course, since I already played its predecessor.

No, it was genuinely shitty, especially if you play FO2 first and don't really know what to expect from the rest of the game.

Oh man, a post apocalyptic rpg! I was tired of all those medieval fantasy ga- is that a spear in my inventory? Flint, what is going on? Why am I semi naked? Why are you semi naked?

Flint: You must brave the Temple of Brown to prove you are the chosen one.

Has nobody made a mod to skip it, like with the first dungeon in BGII?

Yeah, that is a lot of money to pay for basically just lack of DRM. AC1 is on Amazon for less than half that. I guess Ubisoft is banking on their DRM scheme being so offensively awful that people will pay more just to avoid it. Clever bastards.

And RE: Fallout, though I own a few copies already, the free giveaway is a nice opportunity to introduce some of my unwashed acquaintances to the game. :obviously:

You guys very well know that Fallout has its biggest impact on a first time player.

Not having played Fallout before and getting to play it for the first time isn't a shame - it's a god damn privilege.

Coming into Necropolis and seeing super mutants hidden under shacks? Antagonizing one of them and find yourself split in half by a laser shot from inside the shack? Coming deeper and deeper into the Glow? Obtaining the privilege of being a member of the exclusive Brotherhood of Steel and seeing an oasis of order and stability? Listening to Harold's story of Richard Grey and learning who Dr. Grey really was? Finding the heavily guarded base on that side of the map?

These things never have as strong impression on someone who played the game before.

Temple of Trials is 2 minutes. Just 2 minutes. It doesn't matter. Enter action point mode. Run. Enter action point mode. Run. Unlock door. Run. Lockpick door and skip fight at end. Run.

You don't need a mod. You just need the good sense not to wander around too much and get it over with quickly.

But all that xp...50 for each ant, 125 for each radscorpion and 25 for each pressure plate.

First time I played Fallout 2 I quit and uninstalled the game during the temple of trials. Seriously, what were they thinking with Arroyo, the whole place is a complete bore. I bought the game with a fucking robot in the cover and it's some sort of diablo for handicapped people?
