They teased FMOD in an update.

Unfortunately this is a bitch to mod, otherwise good sound is extremely important.

So 2AM rolls around and she's still out front. I go out to take care of the 2AM rush. She follows me to the pumps and I tell her that she can't be at the pumps for insurance reasons (she was really annoying). When the 2AM rush is done she asks me if I'll take her for a ride to the US. I told her that I can't because my shift isn't done and she says "Aww come on. I'll give you a gummy or a grindy. Free of charge." And she pulls out the left half of her teeth, top and bottom.
I raw dog a lot of hookers, mostly girls under 25. It's usually the young ones new to the industry who allow it. Older ones are stuck up about it. Lmao I dont have any pics of the creampies. Usually they run to the bathroom right afterwards to scoop it out or whatever.

I now own almost all DLCs, this game is really addictive.

Still looking for ways to make it a bit harder though.

I might be even more german than I thought, but I'm enjoying this from time to time. It's strangely relaxing.
Sales are frequent enough to justify buying an expansion every now and then.

My biggest issue is the braindead AI. It can't into traffic rules and the player seems to be charged for accidents by default.
Unless I actually am guilty of causing it, ironically.

Oof, haven't played in a month or so; the last update seems to have introduced graded fines for speeding now, I was going +38kmph over the speed limit and got stung for €2,300.

Edit: Just reported another +38kmph over the limit and then got done for €4,200. Dunno if I slid onto a sideroad where the upper limit changed, or if my game is bugged.

To its credit, this new fine update has actually got me obeying the speed limit laws and turned me into a responsible/Kraut player. :salute:

(Only took them 8 years :shittydog:)

i finally gave it a serious try. the hud desperately needs a more visible cruise control icon, there's not enough traffic, other cars' night lights are too weak, the night sky starts to brighten at 2:45 am, the wide load rear escort refuses to go back to let me make some emergency manouver and as soon as i touch it BAM game over, the radio bugs often, to feel some italian vibes i had to drive in france. all this with promods which is supposed to be the bestesterest experience ever.

and i get this is a videogame, but damn, i can't believe a truck driver can earn 10000 euros in a single day of work so easily.

Guys, I have not played since my last post. It's a good game for sure and contains a huge amount of small details but I find the management side underwhelming. I now own a truck but don't really know what to do with it but ferry hot chemicals. Will try again for sure, but it's strangely grindy to earn money.

I also have mixed thought about the driving. The compressed game map is certainly necessary to make this playable, but I'm not sure it does it for me. When I drive in places I know I'm not able to recognize anything. Once I missed the turn at the Berliner Ring had to go to Dresden (150km) to turn around, because the motorway has no other exits (the only other option would have been to go to Poland and turn around there).

The way I deal with the management gameplay is to establish a garage, and fill it with trucks from one maker, until there's a full roster of drivers that I've levelled up how I want and juggling loans from the bank.

I then buy another garage somewhere else and relocate with a new truck from a different maker to keep things feeling fresh and then do it again.

I disabled the fines altogether. Driving game where you're not supposed to go fast just doesn't make sense. I have dangerous chemicals to deliver and I need to do it at 140 kph while slaloming between family cars.

It once happened that I had to deliver "hot chemicals", but got on on the wrong side of the road, a policar came towards me and since the shape of the car was the way it is, my truck was lifted completely in the air like on a ramp and in free flight for 50 m. My truck was mostly undamaged so I just drove on.

There's custom maps with much smaller scale. For example Hungary at 1:3. Default map is something like 1:20 I think. No idea about their quality though.

Also, there was a big update to Germany some time ago that made things much better looking. Maybe even more realistic? (I wouldn't know)

Yes, that 1:3 map would interest me. But I think the problem is inherent. A compressed map is great for playing a game, but you cannot keep the features from the real world. With 1:3 you can probably keep most features, but it must be a lot of work (more work than actually creating a 1:1 map from OSM data).

These problems is also inherent to driving sims. For me personally, driving on the Autobahn for more than 45 minutes sucks ass, my entire life I hated it. I just can enjoy it because the drives in ETS2 are 10 minutes or less, but that destroy the geography. Flying airplanes also sucks but at least you can use time compression during cruise, but even that is point-defying in Euro Truck simulator.

Maybe such game would also work with 1:1 maps but much shorter routes, but that would not be ETS2 anymore, obviously.

They really did a great job with this one, but the problems with simulating something so extremely tedious as driving a truck for 10 hours remain imo.

i thought the whole excuse to play this non-game was to relax while listening to your favourite radio. do you really play this for the gameplay? what the fuck man, what's wrong with you?

finally bought my first personal truck, with appropriate upgrades and all, spent a fortune on it, to find out that it's actually a huge time and money sink, "quick jobs" net a lot more money and there's no need to worry about fuel and rarely about fatigue.

If you’re only doing short runs, or JITs, sure, fuel and fatigue don’t matter, but it comes into play in the longer runs; especially the cross-continental ones. Also, garages and AI drivers are the money-makers in this game, not you.

Trailers? Don’t know. It’s not something I’ve ever messed with for AI use. AI drivers, supposedly, turn more of a profit with better trucks. But jeez....with Promods and buying more and more garages, managing dozens of trucks get tedious and pretty pointless for profit.

Well again what keeps this game from greatness is more interesting money sinks and also the seedier aspects of trucking like lot lizards.
