That's unfair to EA, there's nothing methodical about it.

Maybe EA is really dying if people like him attack them openly.

Maybe it's just part of that scheme to bring EA stock down so Korean overlords can buy it.

I always thought indie developers are guys who develop a game/software without getting funds from publishers for doing it. Is there something wrong in my definition?

I think you may need to put a size limit on it too. Otherwise you get shit like Valve is indie developer because they self-publish.

I don't like this trend of "if your game is low-budget, it's indie".

What difference will it make? Nowadays most indie games are hipster iFag shovelware gimmicks, 2deep4u "interactive" stories and Metroidvania clones with worse art and gfx than the SNES originals. It's not like EA could smear more the "indie" label than they already did on their own.

EA, and not only, have been releasing "indie games" from fake indie studios since the indie trend started to rise.

Indeed indie "game industry" (let's call it like that) is just as bad as everything else - mainstream games industry, movie industry, music industry, book writers... you get sea of cesspit, when you enter you have to endure terrible stink, so you are able to find some silver and gold nuggets and sometimes perhaps a diamond.

It's just as everything else. There are really good indies. Eschalon series, Age of Decadence... would you rather have no indies at all or have all this crap, but also have AoD? I'm sure we'd all choose the latter option.

Valve are in this weird place where they sort-of publish (they at least distribute) other games, and they also acquire mods and the like to develop into full games. They are much more than a gaming studio so I think on that basis you can kick them out of the indie crowd. Or you could kick people out once they become a corporation, which valve did in 2003.

Then Interplay would have counted as "Indie", too. I think there should be a difference between selffounded and Indie. Maybe Indies are startups who develop a game without receiving a salary, neither selfpayed nor founded by other companies?

Indie now means short, low quality games with high levels of ARTISTIC MERIT++ or XTREME RETRO VALUES++ thanks to faggots like Jonathan Blow
